I’ve been down at the beach for a few days, and yesterday I noticed some spotting. Honestly, I have no clue why—my first thought was that I messed up my birth control schedule (I took my pill about 6 or 7 hours late).
But the bleeding just won't stop, so obviously, I called my mom. She thinks it's some kind of infection because I don't bother changing out of my swimsuit after swimming—I just sit around in it for two hours until it dries. At first, I thought she was being ridiculous 🙄, but now I'm starting to wonder if she might actually be onto something.
The blood is bright red and clear, it doesn't really look like my usual period. It's light, but it’s constant.
And please, don't tell me to go see a gynecologist right now, 186 miles I'm way out here and my doctor in Washington, D.C. is already on vacation. I'll head in once I get back home, but waiting this long while feeling uncertain is driving me nuts.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I'm low-key freaking out and could really use some female perspective.
Thanks so much!
My gynecologist is suspecting genital herpes...
Even though I told her it’s basically impossible—I’ve been with the same partner for ages and we’ve never had any issues, plus I know for a fact he hasn't cheated on me.
Is it actually possible for herpes to just stay dormant for over a year and only show up now, especially since my immune system has taken a hit a few times throughout the year? Why wouldn't the virus have flared up sooner?
Has anyone else dealt with something similar?
So, I already went to the gynecologist today and things aren't looking great.😢
Honestly, the whole area is so inflamed he couldn't even perform a proper exam—but his takeaway was either a vaginal infection (which would be Candida, like Pretta mentioned 🙂) or, in the worst-case scenario, herpes 😢.
I never thought I’d actually be hoping for a Candida diagnosis XD.
Good grief.
I’ve been dealing with this discharge right alongside a bout of the flu—at first, I honestly thought my immune system just tanked and I’d picked up some kind of ovarian inflammation, but the flu passed and this discharge is still hanging around.
It’s a yellow-brown color, pretty heavy, thin, and doesn't have much of a smell; it started showing up the day after my period ended.
On top of that, everything down there feels irritated, especially the labia—it’s stinging and hurts when I touch it, plus there's a bit of discomfort when I pee.
I have an appointment with my gynecologist next week, but does anyone have a rough idea of what might be going on here?😢

But seriously—what kind of pills were you taking for the morning after?? Were they standard birth control, or did you get the actual specific ones meant for that purpose? From what I gathered, you just took a massive dose of regular 😕
I mean, that’s not exactly the smartest move—messing with those 🤷 hormones...
☕
I just did exactly what my doctor told me to do—he gave me Trinovum and said to take two tablets immediately, then another two twelve hours later.
Apparently, in the US, they don't always have the dedicated emergency pills available, so people end up using regular birth control at these insane doses 🙄
It's awful.
Kimberly Moore55 said:Wait, if I'm getting this right, you haven't actually been on the pill for two months?? If that's the case, your body is probably still just trying to adjust...
Yeah—I took a high-dose emergency contraceptive about two months ago to get that morning-after effect, but nothing since then.
So, could those pills be the culprit?
🙄I’ve scrolled through endless pages online and even grilled my OB-GYN, but somehow it’s always these forums where I actually find what I’m looking for 🙂
So, here's the deal—I’ve been dealing with this super light spotting for two days now, and I have zero clue why.
The kicker is that my period is already 8 days late (!!!), so when I saw blood yesterday, I actually felt a sense of relief—but this isn't a full period, it's just... something else. 🙄
I don't think I'm pregnant—the only potentially risky encounter I had was about 10 days ago, but I really doubt that's it.
Could this be caused by a virus or the flu?
Or maybe it's a lingering effect from the Plan B I took a couple of months back?
Please share your experiences—any advice at all is welcome 🙂
I'm just totally over all of this.
Why does it always have to be some massive uphill battle against a powerhouse just to get a win?
Dammit.

Once the final buzzer sounds, you just pack your gear and head for the exit.
Totally agree.
The whole thing is an absolute embarrassment for this tournament.
Bálic is absolutely useless. He’s way too weak—even though he’s supposedly the only one with an actual plan—and now we have to deal with this too.
I’ve got a bad feeling this game is going to be a total nerve-wracker right up until the final whistle
Božo just can't help himself—always opening his mouth. "It hasn't been tied up yet"... and then ten seconds later it's 6:6.
e, where did these refs even come from? I really don't feel like digging through 🙂
right now.
The fans are everything 🙂 they know the anthem by heart 😁
Honestly, it’s a joke—there's no way you can call that a serious big intelligence test.
I tried tackling it while the show was airing, but the endless waiting between questions was so infuriating I just gave up. Plus, the questions felt ridiculously easy.
