Moderator bias in Feedback & Suggestions ·
velvettinker41 said:I don't really get why some people just wander through life aimlessly talking nonsense, but this is strictly about principle
Stemmay's red card today was total garbage—she got flagged for absolutely nothing. Seriously, you can't just hand out penalties whenever you feel like it. Even if nobody actually does anything about it, at least a lot of people will see this, and honestly, that's enough for me.

LOL, yeah, that Stemajz guy... just another wannabe moderator who clearly has zero life, no job, and zero friends.
I'm heading out, I need some air before I lose my mind.

Honestly, I couldn't care less what velvettinker41 thinks about who’s copying whom or all that nonsense regarding IP addresses.
I stopped giving people like that any real weight back in the late 90s.

John Hill said:If anyone else was complaining, I might actually take these accusations seriously.

John Doe, velvettinker41, and Jane Doe are clearly just one person. Every single time they pop up on any thread, they're insulting people or picking fights, and they even go around giving themselves fake support under different names.
And there's a pretty strong suspicion that Mary Smith is just one of the most tedious trolls popping up over at the FBI too. The IP addresses match up, but since the writing style is slightly different—even if it's just as aggressive—I can't tell if it's the same person or just a family member.

Look, don't go mentioning my name.
First off, John Hill, there is absolutely no way for you to see the IP addresses behind these handles, so all your little theories about who is cloning whom are nothing more than pure, unadulterated fiction cooked up in your own head.
Actually, I'm fairly certain you don't even know what an IP address is, so here's a link so you can catch up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_address (I'm assuming you're fluent in English, though I have my doubts)
I get it—this forum is basically your entire existence, and without it, you wouldn't even exist—but since you're a moderator and your main hobby is just refreshing the page, you really ought to grasp the fact that a troll isn't just someone who disagrees with your opinion. A real troll is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29
Once you actually read that and understand what a troll is, you'll realize you've been banning people simply because they don't align with your worldview, which you've somehow rebranded as "trolling."
It's honestly laughable.
But hey, I don't hold it against you personally. In fact, this forum is one of the most pathetic places on the internet because of people like you—you wait days for a response unless it's on some thread where a bunch of lonely people with zero social lives spend all day planning coffee meetups that will obviously never happen, arguing about things they know nothing about.
Seriously, if you go over to Reddit and read a few posts, you'll get a good laugh at how "experienced" users with ten thousand posts act—people whose peak sexual experience is watching something on a porn site, yet they still act like experts. It's enough to make you want to grab a morning coffee just to deal with the headache.
I don't blame you, really; I actually feel bad for you. You're engaging in something you shouldn't be, doing it in a biased and transparent way that is, frankly, disgusting.

Avoid State Farm at all costs!!! in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I wanted to jump into this thread and share my own situation—maybe someone here has dealt with the same insurance company and can give me some insight:
Basically, one of their policyholders rear-ended me about four months ago, and the damages were assessed at $3333.
I actually received a notice at my house stating that the settlement would be paid out no later than 01.06.2009. Well, today is 15.06 and I haven't heard a peep from them, let alone seen any money. (Side note: apparently, I can't just have the funds sent to my usual checking account; the guy handling our settlement told me State Farm only does things by opening a specific account at a credit union to process the payout, which isn't really the main issue here, but still...)
Look, I’ve learned that when you're dealing with big insurance giants, there's this incredibly common—and frankly, rude—pattern where they drag their feet on payouts. It’s funny how it works—when they need you to pay a premium, suddenly everything happens in one day, but when they owe you? Suddenly, time doesn't exist. I guess that's just how things run in this country.
So, I'm wondering, has anyone else run into this kind of headache?
Overdrafts and negative balances: What's allowed? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Honestly, if you ask me, there’s really only one way out of this mess—you have to go deep into the red. I mean, we're talking about taking out a massive personal loan just to patch things up, using it to cover all those holes and eventually clawing your way back into the black by paying off that debt. You can't just wave a magic wand and suddenly manifest $3,000 or $4,000 out of thin air, right? It’s just not how the world works.

Lawrence Phillips said:...go ahead and lock it, give me a strike, ban me, whatever you feel like doing...

I’m completely at the mercy of your moderation whims.🤷

I’m not sending any private messages to the mods because I’m hoping someone here actually relates to what I’m saying. I’ve been posting on this forum for quite a while now—mostly on the old boards—and honestly, I can’t remember a time when things were this messy. It used to be much more civilized.

Look, I get it. People are learning, stuff is new to them (it was to me once, too), but for the love of God, it never once crossed my mind to dig up a thread from several years ago and start talking again.
Even if it isn't about some grand rule, it’s just basic internet etiquette. The worst part is when people who aren't even involved start replying to these ancient threads, and suddenly the entire first page is cluttered with noise, creating a whole discussion for a topic where the original author basically died of old age during the reign of Ramesses VIII.🙄

Anyway... that’s all I wanted to say.

Feel free to ban me or whatever else you want to do in situations like this.🙄

Thanks for nothing and goodbye.

You probably have to go grab a few coffees with the "moderators" or hit up some pizza hangouts with the regulars over there to get anything done.

The Eye (2008) in Movies ·
blueseal said:It took Americans six whole years to churn out a remake of The Eye—even though the producers basically greenlit it just months after the original hit theaters. Personally, I think the original holds up way better than its sequel. This remake stars Jessica Alba, who, if I’m being honest, is one of those five actresses I’d never actually cast in a horror flick... but she's fine, I guess. Has anyone here actually sat through the original or this remake? What’s the verdict?
IMDb

I honestly don't get why they bother making remakes at all when the original already said everything it needed to say. If you've already seen the first one, there's zero incentive to drop money on a movie ticket or even bother renting a DVD just to watch some American studio strip every single detail down to the bone until it's practically unrecognizable.
Them in Movies ·
Bradley Fisher3 said:So, I was watching this French-Romanian flick called Them the other day—and honestly? I can't recommend it enough. It’s supposedly based on true events. I’m not going to spoil anything or even tell you the genre, because you really just need to experience it blindly. The plot itself isn't even the main draw; it’s more about that incredible, crushing sense of paranoia and tension that just clings to you from start to finish. If you’re into horror, thrillers, or just movies that make you feel deeply unsettled while you watch, you definitely need to check this one out.

The movie is great, but let's be real—stuff like that never actually happens in real life.

Casey Ross3 said:I’m dying to know what you all think about that guy who signed his name on those drawings found at the Lajua site—you know, the one known as Devil's Mountain that's supposedly 6,000 years old. What would you even say to someone like that? I haven't seen a thread started on this yet, so if I'm double-posting, my bad—feel free to move me to the right section.

As if he thought nobody would track him down... there aren't exactly many Petar - US Army guys hanging around that part of the country. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
