Look, folks, we aren't the ones posting or removing mods. We don't even suggest them. Occasionally, someone might put their own name forward, but even then, there’s no guarantee it will be considered, let alone approved.
I'll say it again: I have certain people in mind—specifically one person who I know would be an excellent moderator for this particular topic—but I'm keeping that to myself. I should also add that I have nothing against the current moderation team. I don't know Simple, but analoglynx23 knew me well enough to issue warnings, ban me, delete my posts, and shut down discussions if I got out of line. Aside from the fact that he's been sleeping on the job for the last few months when he wasn't supposed to be, I have no complaints. Though, even that complaint is pretty serious.
@Paul Green31. Yeah, exactly. I’ve already pointed out examples of these kinds of problematic topics in other Trash pdf files. So, there you go. This is how they work. Don't get me wrong—I'm not saying this topic defines the Trash pdf as a whole or that it's the only thing worth reading. QUITE THE OPPOSITE. I just think deleting it is completely pointless. It's clearly just a result of being unoriginal and exhausted from constantly having to defend everything. It isn't fair.
EDIT: Kate Foster12, look, chill. Sometimes Trash is actually funny, sometimes it's just sad. I don't know why you're making such a massive deal out of it.
Paul Green31, I have to disagree with you regarding the decision to scrap the Reddit thread. You might not have liked it, but saying "it isn't what it used to be" (whatever that actually means) isn't a valid reason to delete a topic permanently.
It's obvious to me that the general laziness of the moderation team comes from the endless stream of reports and complaints about that specific thread. They’re trying to clear space to moderate the rest of the Trash while there's still something left to manage. But that's unfair to the thread itself, and it just caters to people's egos.
The mockery and personal vendettas can be scrubbed from the thread, but the thread itself shouldn't go. You can't treat it like some random chat room that lost its purpose. It hasn't. It just hit a crisis. The people who started it and kept it going should be the ones working to fix it.
That thread actually drove traffic to the PDF. At least half of the people active there participate in other threads too—just look at the numbers. There aren't many visitors to the Trash in general, so it feels like all the blame is being dumped on Reddit.
I see zero issue with users asking to move funny posts to Grain of wisdom and stupid posts to Champion of stupidity. Doing that would actually revive those two threads, which are great but neglected.
The way things are going now won't achieve anything.
You can do either. Both ways work. Generally, some gynecologists suggest skipping the break when switching from higher to lower hormone doses, but taking a break if you're going from low to high—like with Yaza, where you have four inactive pills. My doctor told me it didn't matter, though, when I switched from Yaza to Triquilar, so I just took the break. To be safe, use backup protection for the first seven days if you decide to take a break. I don't know much about Novynette, so I can't tell you if it has more or less hormones than Yaza or if it’s just different.
My main issue is that the Reddit thread was deleted 🤔 😁 I still check everything else regularly. It’s true there isn't always much worth reading, but I'm not going to lose my mind over a lack of moderation since there aren't many posts per day anyway.
And yeah, I think this trend of deleting and wiping threads is bad news for such a small PDF.
slywolf45 said:Well, clearly plenty of attempts were made. It started out with standard moderation, then the insults started flying. Then came the warnings stating certain behavior wouldn't be tolerated. After that, they moved on to handing out bans more aggressively. So, what’s left on the table?
The only option left is to just shut off commenting altogether. But in my opinion, if you do that, it isn't really the same thing anymore. But hey, fine... the mods and admins are the ones in charge here.🤷
Fine, let's keep going. We’ll stick to a specific set of rules, I guess. 🤷
Reddit isn't the only place with threads that are both provocative and popular. There are plenty of other "harmless" threads where controversial topics are handled in a way that keeps everyone satisfied. Take the Cosmetics and Fashion corners, for example; they have threads where people comment on actual photos of real users. You can't claim those topics haven't caused issues here and there, nor can you say they're easy to moderate. But eventually, everything gets sorted out once you establish a clear set of rules defining what constitutes harassment versus acceptable community behavior. It’s all about distinguishing between a personal vendetta and objective commentary—like the stuff you see on Reddit.
slywolf45 said:I voiced my take on this matter quite a while ago. If someone can't handle seeing their posts show up in threads like Reddit or the champion of stupidity, then they probably shouldn't be posting on the site at all. The only real distinction between these two topics is that one allows comments while the other doesn't—which is why the latter remains untouched. But honestly, it’s precisely because of those comments that Reddit stays so popular. And it’s also exactly why it’s constantly under attack. It's a bit of a vicious cycle.
All I’m saying is, I’m not at all surprised that after all the drama, the constant bickering, and the nonsense surrounding this topic, the moderators finally just lost their patience.
🙂 Look, couldn't we have just disabled comments on that thread too? Maybe it wouldn't have been quite what it used to be, but at least it would still exist. It meant a lot to people and was a great thread; why not try to find a way to keep it alive?
I just want to say I'm not surprised at all that after all the attacks and the endless drama surrounding that topic, the mods finally just lost their patience.
Just enough reason to be surprised. A person gets bored with life, and then they get bored with a PDF they're moderating. But instead, they say: "They're attacking us because of you, it's getting too hard to deal with, we can't do this anymore." They don't say: "Look, the thread is stupid now, so we're deleting this garbage that serves no purpose." Sure, the quality dropped, but if I recall correctly, it was still great back in the day—and my registration date is 2010. These are just phases a thread goes through.
slywolf45 said:Are you seriously asking that with a straight face?😕 There are times when even ten of us wouldn't be enough, given how fast troll threads pop up in a single day or the sheer volume of posts flying in every hour.
I don't see any massive surge in post counts or new threads since my days as a moderator over at Reddit, so I really don't think they need three mods there.
Besides... there's the report button (or the option to send a PM). People aren't supposed to tag moderators directly in threads, even in a chat thread.
And as for the Trash forum theme... good grief, that was a hot potato even ages ago. I remember Azriel and I constantly having to brainstorm ways to manage it, almost as if that specific thread were its own separate PDF. It was just constant, constant, constant complaints from people about it.🙄 I'm honestly not surprised it finally reached a breaking point for someone.
No, you misunderstood me. I know exactly why sites like Reddit or major news outlets have dozens of moderators. If a massive media PDF needs five active mods just to keep up with the workload, I don't see why a small site like Trash couldn't handle two or three if anyone actually bothered to dedicate the time. It feels like everyone is avoiding the issue—and when I say everyone, I mean both the users and the mods—dealing with that specific PDF. In reality, it requires less effort than other forums; it just needs consistent maintenance and someone willing to oversee that "controversial" topic.
Since that thread was borderline controversial and drew massive traffic, it deserved its own dedicated moderator. It’s obvious people are going to complain about it on Reddit. It was a headache for the staff and a total circus for everyone else. I don't care who it is, as long as someone actually looks after her. I honestly thought that was possible. 🤷
That was the point. I thought I made it clear that I wasn't criticizing the FDA, but just using them as an example. 😁
It doesn't sit right with me that this whole thread has turned into a debate over whether or not someone should moderate Trash, because that’s not actually the issue here. Somehow, people decided Trash needs moderation too, and now we've ended up in this situation where one edgy, borderline topic in a tiny, unpopular PDF is being wiped out. It feels pointless.
You don't get it: the issue isn't about off-topic posts, trolling, or the thread "losing its soul." It’s about the fact that it was "on the edge of the rules." That is the entire philosophy here.
Thanks, Kowa, for moving that to a different section as the reason, acting like it's less important. I knew all along you were 007. Specifically, Roger Moore. 😁
I still don't see the issue with doing your actual job—putting things in Grain of Humor and leaving the trash on Reddit.
Just because the old crew from the trash section isn't around anymore doesn't give anyone an excuse to wreck the PDF for the people actually reading it and contributing to it right now.
Sorry, mods, but this entire mess of a post above is just an excuse for laziness and avoiding work. It's clearly driven by a fear of backlash from the users posting in that thread.
And no, I don't think the Trash PDF will ever bloom again. How many people even visit that specific PDF? You can count the regulars on Reddit on one hand... okay, maybe two hands. But for a massive forum like this, that’s a tiny number.
You don't need to play dictator or throw insults at people. I never expected that kind of behavior from Reddit, and honestly, I've praised that PDF several times for being different.
THIS is what playing dictator looks like. And just to be clear, I'm not looking for a fight, but I feel bad for that thread.
I like Kowa too. But good people make mistakes. And this is a big one.
I'm not sure if there were any call-outs on the random threads, but on the Reddit thread—where all the "incidents" actually happened—there definitely were.
Honestly, tracking the history of the Trash pdf is pretty straightforward.
1. The Facebook thread was shut down because people wouldn't stop attacking each other personally. 2. Then there was Reddit, which folded for several reasons: things started being posted that weren't actually trash, and frankly, people found it too hard to take the criticism. Plus, I'm fairly certain some posts were just targeted personal attacks.
So, what's left? Trash was the only pdf on this entire site that maintained that tiny grain of humor and self-criticism every community needs. That’s largely why that thread blew up. It was the only place on the whole site where you could find it. Why specifically there? That's a different question entirely.
Look, if they don't have the time, why not just say so? They’re constantly recruiting new mods anyway.
The core Reddit community has at least seven regulars, including you three. If any of you actually want to moderate, go for it.
Honestly, any thread can be abused. That’s why moderators exist. I don't know enough about those two to offer an opinion, so I won't. Personally, I haven't had any bad experiences, but I will say this: whatever the reasoning behind this decision was, it's a terrible move.
gentlehound9 said:It was basically just me and Kate Foster12 keeping it afloat. We were essentially moderating without any actual tools, manually stepping in to tell people stuff didn't belong there or reminding them to use quotes properly since the actual mods weren't doing their jobs. The admins—well, until we called them out—had basically just checked out from the entire subforum. They let it turn into a total wasteland instead of actually enforcing the rules.
Yeah, but Africa is too. Doesn't matter. Look, is it really impossible to find mods on this entire site who would actually deal with this thread? Why does the Politics sub have five moderators (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against that specific PDF), while Reddit, which is its own special case, can't manage to have at least three people looking after it?
gentlehound9 said:No, they nuked it for good. If they just wanted to tidy things up, they would have locked it instead. Look: her response when I asked her about it
Every subreddit has its own flagship thread where everyone ends up congregating. Deleting that thread isn't going to trigger a sudden wave of new posts, nor will it breathe life back into old ones. The shutdown of that one specific thread proved it.
I don't agree with this move.
Personally, I haven't posted anything in that thread for ages. I don't have the time to scroll through Reddit that much, and I really don't want to post anything on Reddit. I think the thread was kept alive by a handful of people who actually care about quality control, not by some random trolls posting whatever comes to mind.
Matthew Sullivan42 said:I need urgent help... I've been taking Triquilar for a few months now and I’ve never missed a dose; I always take it at 8:00 PM. But yesterday, I forgot, and I didn't get around to taking it until 11:00 AM this morning—so there was a twelve-hour gap. I'm currently on week three, and the instructions for this specific type of pill vary depending on which week you miss. For week three, it says I should either stop immediately for a seven-day break or just finish the pack and then buy a new one right away without waiting. I only have two pills left—today and tomorrow—and I honestly don't know if skipping that seven-day break is a smart move. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing with these pills, or can anyone offer some guidance...
I take Triquilar too. It happened to me. Pick whichever option you want; it doesn't matter. Do whatever works best for you. If you overlap the packs, you might skip your period entirely or just get some spotting that lasts a while. But that isn't a guarantee.
Justin Smith6 said:I'm on Jasmine pills. I missed the last two in my pack—just my luck. The instructions say to take a seven-day break before starting the next pack. My withdrawal bleeding after the last cycle was super light, barely lasted a day or two. It’s been exactly a week since I finished them, so I wanted to know—can I just jump back into the pills today without needing extra protection?
If I caught that right, you just finished your seven-day break. If so, use backup protection for the first seven days of the next pack just to be safe. Better to be certain.
goldenmoose25 said:I’ve been on Cilest for two years now, and last night, while taking my pill, the very last tablet in the pack slipped right down the drain.😕 (The foil somehow just popped open on its own.) Basically, I have nine pills left before my cycle ends, but now I’m missing that final one. So, here’s what I need to know: Can I just take 20 tablets instead of 21 and then take my seven-day break? Is that actually safe, or does the system count that as a missed dose? It feels pretty ridiculous to go out and buy an entire new box just because of one single pill.🤷
I’ve had a backup plan for situations like this for a long time. You wouldn't believe how useful it comes in handy. 😁 You can do that. See the post above. No need to buy another box right now, but having a backup for times like this is smart. It counts as a missed pill. To be safe, use extra protection for the first seven days of the pack.
Austin Jackson6 said:Greetings to everyone! Today marks the start of my antibiotic course—I'll be taking them for seven days—and my final pill from this pack will be this coming Thursday, after which comes a seven-day break. Now, I find myself wondering—should I perhaps begin a new pack immediately without waiting? Additionally, does the requirement for seven extra days of contraception count from the moment I take the last antibiotic, or from the very first dose? Please forgive my persistence—I simply wish to be certain.😢
Keep taking your pills as usual. Use backup protection during the first seven days of the new pack. Basically, always look at it as seven consecutive days of uninterrupted use—once you've hit seven days of steady intake without interruptions from antibiotics or vomiting, you're covered.
Antibiotic efficacy spans from the first day to the last day of the course. As for the extra protection, that starts after the very last dose of antibiotics.

You can double-check this yourself at: http://reference.medscape.com/drug-interactionchecker or over at http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.php Oral contraceptives usually only deal with interactions from drugs that seriously mess with liver enzymes—stuff that changes how the body processes meds. We're talking certain antibiotics, antipsychotics, antifungals, that kind of thing...
No, the active ingredient in the laxative doesn't affect the pill itself. However, if the laxative triggers diarrhea within two hours of taking the pill, effectiveness will be reduced.
