I remember being at a psychiatric facility once, and there was this one guy I encountered. His parents had essentially kicked him out of the house because he wasn't "normal," and eventually, the police found him sleeping rough somewhere in the city. Since he was an adult and refused to go back home after his folks tossed him out, they just sent him straight to the psych ward.
During my ten-day stay there, the guy seemed completely detached from reality, rambling about nonsense—claiming he was personally acquainted with the President and things of that nature. I guess the doctors there weren't quite skilled enough to nail down a diagnosis, so they just kept pumping him full of these massive doses of medication, which always left him ravenous, eating three helpings of everything.
I still can't wrap my head around how all those pills even fit inside him.😁
Anyway, looking back, it felt like those heavy meds turned him into a bit of a caricature; I happened to run into him later, and he was a completely different person. He actually knew how to hold a conversation and make sense, which was honestly quite a shock!😲He told me, "See? I feel so much better now that I'm not taking those pills they used to give me." But then, I noticed he was carrying a bag filled with empty bottles... and I think I understood the situation immediately. It’s just such a tragedy... a man living on the streets simply because he has terrible parents who couldn't accept him for being a little different.

A quick question for the admin: I was wondering if there happens to be a dedicated thread or section on this forum for discussing suicide topics?😢

Could someone perhaps explain to me what exactly constitutes trolling??

I suppose someone might be able to, though it’s probably better suited for a thread specifically dedicated to it. Posting something like this here would likely just be considered off-topic.

I am considering asking her about switching medications... but I am genuinely terrified of what she might prescribe next.

I suppose I'm just glad you're still here with us.

Jason Vaughn482 said:Honestly, I am the absolute worst kind of patient; I tend to treat my medical regimen like a series of suggestions rather than instructions, mostly because I harbor a deep-seated skepticism toward these pharmaceutical interventions. As it stands, I just took half of my 25 mg dose, and if I wake up tomorrow feeling like garbage, I’m simply done with it... personally, I find that Xanax is the only thing that actually provides me with any semblance of relief.

I wouldn't recommend xanax. I know it feels great once it kicks in, but honestly, getting off it was an absolute nightmare for me. It took me six whole months to finally get free.

@Anthony Lopez8 I don't have BPD or any of that other stuff. To be honest, I don't experience any of those symptoms you listed, nor do I really understand them at all.

As for me, I barely even feel them anymore. I think I've just become far too accustomed to the sensation over time.

I just got back from the ER—well, the psychiatric ward, really—after my doctor decided to bump my Quetiapine up to 200 and put me on Klonopin three times a day. It’s probably a good thing he didn't prescribe Zoloft... which, if I recall correctly, seems to be pretty much trashed and constantly criticized by everyone on these forums here. 🤣

Ah, my little Klonopin doses three times a day 😁, blue as can be, of course.

Anthony Lopez8 said:But honestly, what are you even talking about? What on earth does any of that have to do with psychopharmacology? 😁

By the way, please don't take this the wrong way, but is there any chance you might be dealing with BPD? There is just a certain BPD vibe radiating from your posts. 😛

Could you perhaps explain to me exactly what someone with BPD goes through? Like, how does their day look, or what kind of symptoms are we actually talking about?

My fellow forum members, I’m still somewhat reeling from everything. Tonight was truly something else, wasn't it? For me, at least, 🤣 🤣

Oh, absolutely. Effexor rules, but I can't say the same for Wellbutrin. I tried taking it once, and honestly, it was just miserable; I felt so nauseous I thought I might actually throw up. It was like my brain wouldn't stop sending these frantic signals, forcing me to stay in constant motion. I couldn't even sit still for a second, and on top of all that, the heartburn was just relentless. I won't be going back to that ever again.

I’ve sat through quite a few of his motivational speeches before, and I have to admit, they always leave me feeling strangely optimistic, almost like a kid on Christmas morning.

Here is what I was talking about.

My fellow forum members... I’m having a really difficult time lately. These suicidal thoughts just won't stop coming, but I'm honestly terrified of heading to the psychiatric ward. I've been admitted for this exact reason far too many times before, and I just can't face the idea of them putting me in one of those straightjackets and forcing me to stay on the unit against my will.🙂🤷 I feel completely lost. To make matters worse, I have to wait at least a month and a half just to get an appointment with my therapist! 😢

I suppose I should probably schedule a follow-up appointment soon... things aren't feeling quite right. Everything seemed to be moving in the right direction, but then, almost out of nowhere, I just spiraled back into this deep depression. I haven't the slightest motivation for anything lately, and honestly, I’m struggling to find any reason to keep pushing through this lonely existence.

Andrew Stewart2 said:Can you actually feel the Lexapro kicking in? I started on 0.25, just one pill at night about two months ago... and honestly, I felt it almost immediately. Now I’ve bumped up to 0.5, taking it maybe every other day, but I’m feeling absolutely nothing. My doctor told me Lexapro is one of those things you can take "as needed," whereas Zoloft is something you have to stay consistent with every single day to see results. But, man, I've read so much horror stuff online about Zoloft that I'm just staying far away from it. Even though my psychiatrist keeps telling me it's actually great and she hears nothing but success stories from patients... I don't know, I'm still not touching it.

I'm dealing with anxiety and depression, plus some paranoid personality disorder stuff too...

But what happens when even 1mg of Helex isn't enough to cut through it?

And how are you actually feeling physically?

edit: Just realized you're on
25 mg😁. Honestly, what even is that?
You might be better off staying far away from that junk.

well, I suppose she’s got enough seniority to know better... maybe that’s why the pills aren't doing anything for her😁

Justin Rogers5 said:What kind of med is it? Asking because my psychiatrist recommended it, but honestly, I don't trust anything any doctor hands me anymore.☕Does it tank your mood? Make you ravenous? Leave you sleeping all day?

I definitely put on some weight while I was taking Seroquel. So, maybe this version from Pfizer doesn't trigger weight gain quite as much; I suppose it’s possible, though I can't say for sure. It’s funny, too—the woman at the pharmacy told me they don't even stock such expensive medications locally and have to order them in. But then again, I know Seroquel is incredibly pricey, yet somehow every pharmacy seems to have it on hand...🤷

Haha, good luck with that. ;D

wiredmason56 said:I’m sitting here reading this and honestly, I can’t quite wrap my head around it. Someone is out there claiming that Xanax is actually more dangerous than morphine or methadone... I mean, I’m reading it, but I just can't bring myself to believe it. It feels a bit much, doesn't it?😂I mean, if you're mixing that stuff with a whole liter of vodka... I don't even know what the end result would be at that point. It's just hard to wrap my head around.🙄

The withdrawal is just as brutal, though. I've been through it myself, and I can tell you one thing for certain: I am never touching Xanax ever again.

I’ve been on Seroquel up until now, but my doctor, Sakoman, just prescribed this Quelapin that neither my sister nor my physician has ever even heard of, so now the pharmacy has to special order it. It feels like a bit of a pointless exercise, I suppose... since it's presumably just the same generic medication under a different name.😕
I guess Sakoman probably knows exactly why he chose that specific Pfizer version of Quelapin, though.
