Thanks to both of you for the input. Reading Carl Castillo69’s comment about there being some downsides makes me wonder if this is even worth it. I mean, why drop that kind of cash if you aren't guaranteed the vision you're actually paying for? I had traditional surgery on both eyes about three and a half years ago, and I ended up on medical leave for two months because my eyes were just a bloody mess. Question for Carl Castillo69: Did they give your brother any heads-up about potential side effects? And what happens if he deals with this long-term, rather than just during a temporary recovery period?
Aha, I see where you're coming from... so what you're saying is there aren't any lenses available for us to wear when we're younger?
http://www.mayoclinic.org/eye-surgery-options I found something similar to this... I noticed there are about four different types of these procedures out there. I'm trying to figure out which one is actually worth doing without causing long-term issues. I've read some comments saying that getting rid of their prescription was a total game-changer for seeing without glasses, but these lens implants seem okay too. I guess I'm just wondering if they leave any lasting side effects on the eye? Personally, my distance vision isn't an issue, but I still wear glasses, and honestly, they drive me crazy sometimes—especially when they get dirty while I'm working or whatever. I can't really do standard contact lenses, so I'm curious if these surgeries are actually worth the investment.
Hey everyone! I was just browsing the Mayo Clinic website and stumbled upon this. Even though it’s listed under their specific services, I didn't really get what it meant at first. A colleague finally explained that they basically implant lenses directly into the eye... which might be an option if someone like me can't handle wearing contact lenses. Has anyone here actually gone through this kind of surgery? I'm curious about what the whole process entails and if anyone dealt with any unexpected side effects. Thanks.
Electrophysiology and General Electric in Health ·
Hey there.

A friend of mine was referred by her physiatrist to get an electrophysiology study, and she’s wondering if anyone here has been through it. What exactly are they looking for during that kind of exam? Also, does anyone know if there are private clinics where you can get this done—ideally in Indianapolis—since the wait times for the public ones are pretty brutal? Thanks in advance! 🤷
Skin fungal infections: any advice? in Health ·
To be honest, I didn't even know what I was dealing with at first. My primary care doctor put me on some Plymicol cream, even though the instructions say you stop after two weeks and then follow up with Aliv for another two. Well, I’ve been using it for about six weeks now and... nothing. Zero. These spots are driving me crazy—I picked them up from a friend after borrowing some clothes. Now I'm heading to a dermatologist to get this sorted out. If anyone else has dealt with this, please tell me: DO THEY EVER ACTUALLY GO AWAY?? Or am I just stuck with these catastrophic marks forever?? 😠🤣

Has anyone here actually taken these pills? I'm curious about how they worked for you. Also, can you just pick them up off the shelf, or do you need a prescription from a doctor? Thanks in advance...
Hey. I’m back to dealing with my diet again. At 5'4", I used to be about 117 lbs—which was thin, sure, but it felt fine. Then, after just two months, I dropped down to 103 lbs... mostly because work stress and relationship issues made me completely lose my appetite. At my job, if I didn't eat when I was actually hungry, I'd just wait until I had a free moment, but by then, I wasn't even hungry anymore.

....With everything else going on, I just couldn't bring myself to eat. Or if I did, it was such a tiny amount that it wasn't enough to actually keep my body running properly. When I went to see my doctor about it before, she just told me, "You'll gain weight once you get pregnant..." and well... here we are.

...I honestly don't know how I still have the energy to show up to work, but lately, it's making me so irritable and moody. Food has basically become my worst enemy; whenever I try to eat, I feel like I'm going to throw up the second I put something in my mouth.

...If anyone else has dealt with something like this, please reach out. Thanks in advance...

I know I heard they were operating there, but I checked their website after seeing that message and they don't even have a number to call for orders!!! It's a mess!!! Anyway, what kind of lubricants are we talking about here and how much do they run? I've never bought any, so I'm not really sure... does that stuff actually help? If you've heard anything, maybe let me know!!!

So, my doctor switched clinics on me. Has anyone here heard of this new practice? I'm wondering if there's any actual word on whether they're any good or if I should be worried.
