Greetings. If anyone here has experience with this, any advice would be greatly appreciated. A family member uses inhalers, pills, and various treatments. The diagnosis is Asthma, but specifically "unspecified Asthma." It seems somewhat illogical to me that they are undergoing such intensive therapy without a clear understanding of the exact type of asthma involved... On top of that, there is apparently some overlap with COPD as well. We are feeling quite lost. We don't know who to turn to or what questions to even ask... Breathing remains difficult and shallow...
Greetings, everyone. I am looking for a recommendation for a reliable urologist in the Washington, D.C. area. Someone close to me recently visited an emergency urology clinic, but the hematuria has actually worsened, along with increased pain, so we really need to address this promptly... Thank you in advance.
Greetings. I am currently searching for a private pulmonologist in the Washington, D.C. area—someone who truly understands the complexities of pulmonary health and is a genuine expert in their field. If anyone happens to have a recommendation they could share, I would be very grateful... Thank you in advance.
Greetings. I am looking for a gastroenterologist, preferably located at either Siget Health Center or in New York City. If anyone has had positive experiences with specific doctors in those areas, any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is for my mother, and I am truly hoping to find someone who is not just a skilled physician, but a kind and compassionate human being as well. Thank you. 🙂
Since the first day of this cycle, I have been taking Yaz. My period lasted a few days longer than usual, and even now that it has finished, I’ve noticed a slight discharge containing some blood, though it is quite mild... Is this an effect of the pill, or should I be seeking medical advice...
What people often fail to mention regarding iron levels is that you really need to test your ferritin to see what your actual reserves look like. Please, do some research on Google 😉
Nathan Baker said:When it comes to dealing with PCOS, there’s really only one definitive "cure" on the table—Diane35. Now, I’m sure some doctors will go ahead and prescribe other options, but quite frankly, I haven't the slightest clue what their reasoning would be, as I’ve never had the occasion to experience it myself.
Thank you. My OBGYN mentioned she’s going to put me on Yaz... We shall see how that goes...
I have a somewhat general question. I’m going to be prescribed medication for PCOS, and I was wondering how the decision-making process works regarding which specific pill is right for a patient? Does it follow a trial-and-error approach, or is there a more systematic way they determine the best fit? I just want to be informed before my doctor writes the prescription... Thank you. 🙂
hmmm, I have a general question regarding discharge. It isn’t white, but rather something else entirely. My period just ended, but it feels like I’m experiencing discharge that isn't white, nor is it yellow or brown, but perhaps it looks as though there might be blood cells in it. I am heading in for a swab test this week. I am feeling a little concerned. Could this possibly be related to PCOS?...
Hmm, spotting between periods... could it be a cyst? I’ve dealt with that before, but I can't say for certain this time. I’m planning to see my doctor at the Mayo Clinic, but they don't have any openings for a few weeks...
The best approach would be to start by testing all your hormone levels—specifically thyroid and gynecological markers. If I were in your shoes, I’d also look into adrenal hormones. It will be difficult for any specialist to provide meaningful guidance without those specific results in hand.
If you have the budget for it, private labs might be your best bet since they can often turn results around within a single day, though it will certainly get expensive given how many tests you need. Alternatively, if you prefer using a hospital, I’d suggest calling ahead first to check the wait times. If you happen to be in Washington, D.C., give them a call; the Endocrine department there has its own dedicated laboratory. You might also want to check with Peterson, as they could potentially offer the fastest turnaround...
I find it most amusing when someone claims a woman is just experiencing PMS. And they say it all month long... 😁 If only people truly understood, haha...
Does anyone else have that sensation like you're about to get your period? My ovaries have been acting up for a few days now. Nothing painful, just an occasional irritation...
Haha, well, does that actually make a difference? 😉
I personally swear by Ketoral; I’ve taken it myself, even when dealing with those stubborn aches. That little blue pill really works wonders 😁 (and yes, I am still writing about Ketoral)
I also have one of those red heat lamps at home, which helps quite a bit as well...
I am not quite sure how others feel about Neofen, but personally, it doesn't do much for me regarding either type of pain. Instead, I take Ketoral, which is one of the stronger options available at $6.75 pharmacies. It isn't advertised as heavily, so most people aren't even aware it exists. Also, if you can find a moment these days while the sun is actually out, I find that the warmth helps me quite a bit...
A few years back, there was a television feature regarding women struggling with being underweight. I believe there is even a specific institution in a major US city dedicated to this issue, though the name escapes me at the moment... they focus on helping people gain weight...
I can see that many of you are experts in this field, so if I may ask a few questions... 🙂
I didn't really have any issues with my hips growing up, but for nearly six months now, I've been dealing with a persistent, dull sensation in my right hip. For a couple of weeks, the pain was actually quite intense, but now it has settled into this constant, dull ache that is incredibly bothersome. I haven't gone in for imaging yet because I am waiting on some other test results, which I assume will lead me to request those scans myself later, but I did receive a positive Rheumatism factor Latex result. What could this potentially indicate? Thank you...
Walter Brooks56 said:Exactly that... my tights practically save my lungs, yet some constant misfortune follows me. 🤣
p.s. you're invited to my bash once I finally defeat this cyst. 😂
I'd love to help, but honestly, I'm just as lost as you are.
For instance, my period hasn't even shown up this month—and no, I'm not pregnant; they checked twice at the clinic in downtown Chicago... as if they'd want me pregnant just so they could say, "Well, that explains it!"—and my appointment with Ginić isn't until the 3rd.5...
By then, my ovary might as well just dry up entirely. -.-
I've reached a point where I don't even know what to wear anymore. Some days I overdress just to stay warm, making sure my ovaries stay cozy, and I end up feeling like I walked into a living sauna by the time I get home. 🤣
Have you had your hormone levels checked? Mine seem fine; I got my latest results back this week. Usually, my cycle is quite regular, it's just this cyst that's causing trouble... On top of that, I've been having pain in my right hip, so I wondered if they were related. If we combined everything we have going on, we'd probably end up with one and a half functional ovaries. 😁
I'm heading to Ginić for an ultrasound either this week or next, so hopefully they can prescribe something. Is it really just a matter of taking more or fewer pills? 😍
When I think back to certain people, they never seemed to care at all; they could sit out in the snow without a single issue. Meanwhile, I go through the effort of layering up with those old-fashioned tights and pants, and still, nothing works—there is always some kind of complication. If I ever manage to get rid of this cyst and her descendants on my right ovary, I might actually throw the party of the century...
Tomorrow I’m heading in to pick up the rest of my hormone results. Progesterone looks fine, so if this comes back okay too, I’ll be heading back to see Ginić for a consultation. Should I ask him about starting Duphaston again or something else? I feel like I've lost my wits. Help me out, ladies... 🙂
Please try not to let an elevated marker cause you constant anxiety. There are cases where levels remain perfectly normal, yet a patient ends up undergoing surgery only to lose a significant portion of their reproductive organs...
Personally, I have been struggling with a water cyst on my right ovary; there are days when the sensation is quite intense, and other days when it feels as though it isn't even there. I am currently waiting for my test results, and if my hormone levels are stable, I intend to ask my doctor about more long-term solutions to resolve this. However, I suspect that stress plays a very significant role in all of this...
