Carol Rodriguez16 said:Of course, the odds of conception drop as you get older, and there’s definitely a higher risk of complications. But on the flip side, I think older parents tend to be more grounded and responsible. They aren't as likely to go through a messy divorce, they already have their lives together, and most importantly, they actually seem to have a deeper appreciation for parenthood by the time they get there.

I'm with you on that. Though, I know plenty of people who had their first kid in their late 30s—36, 37, 38—and their kids turned out perfectly healthy and well-adjusted.
I noticed some thick white discharge today, and there's quite a bit of it. It’s also itching a little. Now, I don't think I need to run to the gynecologist just yet—I was actually just at the clinic less than a month ago and everything seemed fine, aside from some mosaic lesions on my cervix. I also got some Betadine for an infection. I’ve been using it, and right as I finished, this white discharge showed up. It’s incredibly thick, doesn't have any smell, and there's a lot of it. What could this be?

My results come back tomorrow, and I can feel the panic starting to set in.😢Honestly, I’m just crossing my fingers that the Pap smear comes back totally clear with no abnormal cells—just a clean bill of health.

Thanks, but there isn't much here regarding the mosaic work.🤷

I get that, but a mosaic is still a change from the norm. I’m actually curious—is it possible to have a mosaic without having Cin? Hardly anyone seems to talk about it, so maybe it’s just a rare occurrence. Or perhaps Cin is the more common issue.

I’ve never actually had CIN or anything more serious than a simple infection before, and I usually get my Pap smear done every six or seven months. Everything has always come back fine. Honestly, I don't even know if there's an issue right now; my results aren't due until Monday. I have to admit, I'm pretty nervous about it, but there's nothing else I can do but wait. I hope you're doing okay now and that everything you went through is behind you. Is it possible to have mosaicism even if the Pap smear comes back normal—meaning, without any signs of CIN?

I just found out during my colposcopy that I have mosaic patterning. The doctor didn't really explain what that means specifically; he just said it’s there and that we need to wait for the Pap smear results to come back before deciding the next step. He didn't bring up a biopsy, though he did mention that if my Pap results look clean, I'll just need to come in for annual checkups. During the exam, he applied iodine and some other solution (I can't quite remember what), and noted that this white mosaic area doesn't react to the iodine the way normal tissue does. Has anyone else dealt with this? Or was he just saying that to try and calm me down? I'm honestly pretty terrified right now.

It’s honestly hard to believe that absolutely nobody knows anything here.😢

I had my full gynecological exam today. My ultrasound came back clear, and I’m just waiting on my Pap results now. Everything else seemed fine, though my uterus is slightly tilted. During the colposcopy, the doctor pointed out some mosaic patterning on my cervix. He mentioned it might be nothing to worry about and that we should just wait for the biopsy results to be sure. I realize you can't really give any definitive answers without those official reports, but I wanted to ask for some perspective. In previous checkups—before I ever had a colposcopy performed—doctors always told me I had a small "erosion," yet my Pap smears were always perfectly normal. No signs of CIN, just Grade 2. Today, however, the doctor said it isn't an erosion at all, but rather a white thickening, specifically this "mosaic" pattern. Does this mean they were actually seeing this mosaic all along instead of an erosion? Has anyone else dealt with this? And how is it typically treated? Honestly, I'm pretty anxious about it.
Thanks so much for any insight you can share.
p.s. He didn't see any warts during the colposcopy; he only noted the mosaic pattern.

Well, I actually got it the very next day after I posted that.🙂Thanks for the reassurance.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Lately, a few days before my period actually starts, I’ve been noticing this tiny spot of blood every single day. It's been happening for a couple of days now. Is that normal? Based on my usual cycle, I shouldn't be expecting it until around April 28th or 29th, but this spotting started early, and I’ve already got some cramping in my lower abdomen. My periods are usually pretty regular and predictable, though they can be quite painful enough.
Infertility and low fertility issues in Women's Health ·
A standard checkup isn't enough for a doctor to determine if someone is actually infertile or if they'll have trouble conceiving. There’s just no way to know for sure from a basic visit. To get a real answer regarding infertility, you need to go through much more specific diagnostic testing.

Weakness or fatigue in my legs in Health ·
I’m honestly stumped on what could have caused this. Is it really just a disk issue? And more importantly, how do you actually deal with it—is there any real way to fix this?
Weakness or fatigue in my legs in Health ·
It isn’t rheumatism. I don't have that. To be honest, I haven't even figured it out myself yet. If it were actually an issue with my spine, wouldn't I be feeling pain specifically in my back or something similar? I don't know, but I am genuinely confused. I have no idea what's causing this.
Weakness or fatigue in my legs in Health ·
It was just a standard X-ray. It all started when I began dealing with this persistent pain running down my right leg, from my hip straight to my knee. I went in because it had been going on for ages. My orthopedic specialist sent me for some rheumatoid factor tests and imaging of my spine and hips to try and pin down what was causing the nerve issues in my leg. Everything came back perfectly normal, so I never actually got a definitive answer as to why it was hurting. Now, the actual pain has finally subsided, but I’m still left with this lingering sense of weakness.

I had some imaging done on my spine and lower back this past summer, but everything came back perfectly normal. The scans didn't show any issues at all, so I'm starting to think the problem lies somewhere else entirely.😕
Weakness or fatigue in my legs in Health ·
I’ve been feeling uneasy about this for quite a while now. It isn’t a sharp pain in my legs or anything obvious like that, but there’s just this pervasive sense that something isn't right physically. Specifically, when I encounter a high step, most people just breeze right up them without a second thought, but I find myself needing to grab onto a railing just to make it. I simply don't have the strength to pull myself up. For instance, the other day when we were boarding a commuter train with those steep steps, I tried to head up, but once I took that first big step, the girl in front of me actually had to reach back and help pull me up. I just couldn't manage it on my own. This has been going on for a few months. I stay active, I walk a lot, and my job requires me to be on my feet most of the day... So, what could this be? I'd really appreciate any insight you all might have.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Roger Sullivan63 said:I wouldn't be so sure. If that were actually true, I’d be in trouble myself since I've gone through a mountain of painkillers, and I'm only twenty-five! 😬

Again, that’s just your take on things, just like it is mine. I’m asking the people here who actually have some experience, the ones who've been through it.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
I heard some girls talking today about how women who rely on pain relievers for period cramps more frequently might have a harder time getting pregnant. Is there any truth to that?
