I know I’m probably going to deal with a whole crowd of people who just won't grasp what I'm actually trying to say here, but then again, that seems to be the case with certain groups too... if I say I don't want them on my team, it's simply because they aren't a fit for me, and it doesn't mean I have anything against them personally...

Honestly, if they just formed their own separate league and explicitly stated they didn't want straight people in their ranks, nobody would be making a fuss... It wouldn't be seen as discrimination at all, but rather just a group of people setting their own boundaries to protect themselves...
If someone told you they weren't accepting you onto their team because you have blue eyes, or because of who your parents are, or because you happen to be wealthy, or even just because they find you dim-witted... how exactly would you define that? Would you really call that someone just exercising their "freedom of opinion"?
Besides, I wonder why the moderators haven't steered this thread back toward the actual core issue: whether one is born with a certain orientation, or if it's something acquired or even chosen during youth, as some self-proclaimed experts seem to believe.
