Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
longest 😉
thanks, I'll give it a shot (not right this second, though—first off, I'm currently sipping on some rosehip tea, and I've been dodging chamomile lately because I've picked up a bit of an inflammation, plus 2. I'm actually in a good mood again)
alright, let's get back to the advice for us poor, misunderstood women dealing with constant PMS 🙂

Ugh, I can’t quite put my finger on it.
My hormones are absolutely wrecking me today. I'm feeling incredibly on edge, so I wanted to ask for some advice.
Is there anything natural out there that actually works to help me relax and chill out? (And no, I don't mean chocolate, comfort food, or hobbies—though I know stuff exists specifically for PMS). My mood is just all over the place; one minute I’m crying, the next I’m furious, then suddenly everything feels great, and it just keeps looping like that.
Oh god, my boyfriend is calling right now. If I snap at him or go full psycho, what then? 😢

awesome, thanks! 🙂
really caught my eye!

Can I ask a question that’s probably been asked before? I just haven't seen an answer to it yet (sorry if I missed it!).
What actually happens if a woman gets pregnant but doesn't realize it and keeps taking birth control pills for another few weeks or a month? Will standard pregnancy symptoms show up? Won't there be a period during the break? And what happens to the embryo?
Also, what about pregnancy tests? Will they come back positive because the body thinks it's pregnant while on the pill (that's how they work, right?), or will they still be negative?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Hey there!
I'm looking into contraceptive implants and trying to find gynecologists who actually perform the insertion.
Is this some cutting-edge thing that's only available at a handful of clinics in Chicago, or can I find it in other cities too?
Does anyone know a specialist in San Diego I could reach out to? Maybe someone like Vlatković?

thanks 🙂
I figured this might be the case. Clearly, there aren't any miracle 3D movies out there for me 😢

Basically, the screen projects two different images at once. The glasses just act as a filter to separate them so each eye sees its own specific image.
Without the glasses, you won't be seeing Avatar in 3D at all.

Hmm.
So I'm only seeing one of those two images, which means I won't see any 3D at all?
Come on, does anyone have a more actual answer for me?
Or is there anyone here who went to the theater, got an itch in one eye, started rubbing it, and ended up watching the movie with only one eye open in the process? 😁

But here's the catch: about 99% of people have roughly the same prescription in both eyes.
In my case, you could say I’m practically blind in my right eye, while my left eye sees perfectly fine.
From what I understand, 3D movies are filmed using two cameras—the left lens of the glasses projects the image from one camera, the right lens from the other, and by merging those two fields of vision, you get the 3D effect (hopefully that makes sense). For me, that merge won't happen because I'll basically be watching a "3D" image through just the left lens.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Anyone who is (partially) blind in one eye? Can you tell me if it'll look normal, some weird half-3D version, or if I won't see any 3D at all?
I really don't want to waste extra $5.00 at the theater only to realize I can't even see the 3D effect.

Question:
Can I actually watch 3D movies at the theater if one eye is at -12 diopters, and even with a contact lens, let's say it's down to -9? 😍

Perfect use 0.3%
Typical use 8%
So "perfect use" would be 0.3%.
(For comparison, perfect use for condoms is 2%, while typical use sits around 10–18%).

And in the end, turns out we won't be seeing each other that rarely after all.
So, what am I supposed to do with my entire summer and all these holidays?
Ugh, no way... If I actually had to start using condoms, I’d basically have to start popping some heavy-duty PMS pills just to kill these mood swings. Seriously, I am in such a shitty headspace right now. People around me are constantly pushing my buttons, and there have been a few times where I've felt like just snapping at my professors—which, let's be real, would be a total disaster. 😁)
You can get that injection here in the States too, but you’ll only find it with certain high-end gynecologists. Mr. Pyramid told me I should try to track some down, and a few women on this forum mentioned they’d heard about the shot as well. Someone over on Cybermed noted that while it isn't officially available here, you can buy a larger volume of a specific liquid under a different name for totally different uses—but it's basically the exact same stuff as the "vaccine," and it only runs you about 20 cents.

Alright, thanks!
And the reasons against were that I ran out of my last pack of pills (with about 5 or 6 left), they’re way more expensive than condoms, and since we're long-distance now, on top of paying for those, I have to cover my monthly bus pass and still try to save up enough to go visit him all the time.155 miles Plus, um... I thought it would be easy to just get back into using condoms...
I actually considered switching to contraceptive injections, but my gynecologist says he doesn't carry them, and I have no clue which doctor might have them available. My only option is to call every single clinic in town.😢

Here I go again. You guys have more experience than I do. I’m pretty sure someone asked for advice on this exact situation before, but I just can't seem to track down that specific thread.

I stopped taking Logest about a month ago. I’d been on it for maybe four or five months straight. I quit back in September, and my period showed up about five to seven days after I stopped—so let's call that cycle 34 days. Usually, it runs about 31 or 32 days, so everything seemed pretty normal. Now, I need my next period to start by the beginning of November. Any advice?
Here we go again with the long posts => turns out I’ve realized I just can't stand condoms. They drive me crazy. I really don't like them. 😠Maybe I played it a little too safe during this month-long break. I miss that raw spontaneity in the bedroom, you know? Plus, let’s be real—splitting the bill between two people makes everything way more affordable. And honestly? At least with them, I don't end up dealing with a mountain of bloating every single time my PMS hits.

Give me some advice before I call the gynecologist—well, his nurse, actually. I can't stand that woman; she’s constantly nitpicking and being difficult. 😠Seems like I'll get faster advice here without all the constant nagging.
Should I start back up this month, or wait another month before jumping back in? And should I be using condoms for that first month after the break? Did any of you deal with nasty side effects? Also, is my one-month break after five months on the pill really the same as taking a full year off—or does it even matter?

Thanks!

Just wonderful.
My pills are missing.
They are nowhere to be found, and I have looked everywhere—every single possible spot. 😠 🙂
I’ve only taken about a third of the pack (maybe 6 or 7 out of 21)... and this was supposed to be my last box anyway since my brother is moving and it wouldn't make sense to buy more.
Is there any specific info I should know regarding stopping the pills after only taking 6 or 7 from the current pack? And I'm assuming the protection stops working immediately?
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Because honestly, everything feels pretty much the same to me. My digestion is doing its usual thing—sometimes things move, sometimes they don't. My menstrual cycle is almost exactly like before, too. I still have to take Ketonal because the pain is real, even if it’s a different kind of ache this time, and maybe it lasts a day less (around 4-5 days total). I haven't gained or lost any weight from them either; basically, there just hasn't been any noticeable change...
hmmm....
Well, there's still almost a year left. But I’m definitely stopping up with them this fall, after these next few months. Just, I wouldn't want to be using condoms all next summer 😢 (since we're talking every day or every other day) 😢
And who knows if we'll even still be together by then? (For now, let's just assume we will).
One question...
I’ve been on Logest since May 5th. My boyfriend is heading off to college soon, while I’m staying put. I was thinking about quitting the pill once he leaves in September, mostly because it doesn't make financial sense to pay for $27 birth control just to have sex once or twice during that time.
He should be back around June.
Is it risky—or just plain stupid—to start taking them again just for the summer, like maybe 3 or 4 packs, and then stop once he heads out?
I was also considering buying those few packs ahead of time since my prescription is good for a year. (Though, honestly, I’m not sure if a pharmacist will actually check the date and realize it’s expired; I highly doubt it.) I really don't feel like going back to the gynecologist and sitting in a waiting room for three hours just to get one piece of paper.
So far, I haven't had any side effects. Maybe feeling a bit more down sometimes, but I can't tell if that's from the pills or not. I did feel a little dizzy once, but I'm pretty sure it was just exhaustion from barely sleeping and waking up too fast.
Quick question......
I'm about to start taking Logest for the first time, starting on day one of my period....
My cramps are absolutely brutal, so I usually just lean on Ketoral to get through them....
Is it okay to take Ketoral while I'm on Logest, or should I avoid it?
