Well, if that's the case, then on this diaspora forum, we should be chatting about the actual issues facing Americans living abroad, rather than obsessing over what someone's making for dinner or what kind of car they drive.
Is that clear enough for you now?
Besides, Betty Wright64 already explained it quite nicely to you, so you really ought to connect the dots here.

But why shouldn't we chat about food or cars? If we only ever discussed problems specific to being part of the diaspora, we wouldn't even need to start other threads; everything could just be handled in the chat room... honestly, come on. You might want to go back and re-read what you actually wrote. "Casual chatting" implies talking about anything and everything—cooking, cars, weekend trips, kids, you name it. It's all part of the conversation...

As for what Betty Wright64 told me... well, I don't know what to say. She always seems to find a way to twist things to suit her own narrative. My original question was actually regarding Marica carica, who had been deleting my posts earlier today... however, she managed to skillfully deflect the whole situation onto Betty Wright64 instead.

hollowtrucker77 said:everyone should stick to the specific topic of the chat (or whichever subforum the chat is hosted in)
also, just because moderation is a bit more relaxed in the chat doesn't mean trolling, insults, or intolerance are okay...

I honestly don't know what to make of that response. "Stick to the topic of the chat"? Could you please walk me through the logic there? What topics are we even talking about? There isn't one! That’s the whole point of having a chat room in the first place, isn't it? If it had a strict single topic, it wouldn't be a chatroom at all. Besides, I don't think this community's chat is nearly as "relaxed" with moderation as people claim—you'd be mistaken if you thought otherwise. And if I happen to express an opinion about something I dislike or point out that something isn't working quite right, since when does that count as trolling or being insulting? Please, let's use some common sense here. My husband actually ended up deleting all the posts I wrote today because he wasn't quite sure how to handle them...🤷😕
Both Key and I have been barred from the moderator chat... and why exactly is that? Did we actually insult anyone in there, or was this just a way for them to shield themselves from a little bit of honest criticism? Feel free to go back and read everything I wrote regarding Betty Wright64; I stand by every word. I haven't insulted a soul; I simply shared my perspective.

at the very least, the headline could have been phrased much more elegantly

I’m asking EVERYONE to please try to stay on topic within the subforums and refrain from being inflammatory or disrespectful

Honestly, what kind of grand, poetic titles am I supposed to come up with???
I actually sent a question directly to you earlier, and you just pointed me toward Tyndall, and I'm still sitting here waiting for a response from him.

Sandra Ward23 said:Our colleague Angie has moved over to another forum along with a small group of other users,
which is perfectly fine (she’s free to go wherever she pleases)
We live in a free country, after all, and anyone is entitled to write wherever they want: she can do as she pleases, just as I can.

But that isn't actually the issue.
The real problem is her constant pattern of disrespecting moderators, both within our American community forum and over on that other site.
And right here on this forum:
Angie is being stubborn,
acting provocatively,
and just behaving wildly.

I honestly find myself thinking: if you feel like everything here is so terrible, why are you even staying?
Is someone forcing you to be here?

Or are you intentionally—and quite calculatedly—stirring the pot? 😉
(And there is already a specific protocol for handling that kind of behavior.)

In my private messages, she actually insulted a colleague of mine (a fellow member of our American community), and I have reported those posts to the admins; however, they haven't been made public because the content was far too personal—those who need to know, know.

Furthermore, there are screenshots from that other forum that clearly show who said what, when, and where, proving her intentions were quite deliberate. I've sent all of that, along with the direct links, to the administrators.

After this whole saga, she is now posting destructive messages in the American community section of the forum, which seem to be orchestrated from that other site.
It is actively undermining the topic at hand (though the posts have been removed, they can certainly be restored if necessary).
And she still hasn't learned her lesson.
(Because, in my view, this is pure insolence.)

I consider myself quite tolerant (and frankly, Angie is lucky) that I haven't issued any sort of "red card" yet. 🥳

I am honestly reaching my limit with this constant tug-of-war, and it isn't even because of this latest bit of trolling or provocation.
It's because of the entire pattern of behavior.

I won't even get into the moral side of things: as a former moderator, I believe Angie is more than aware of exactly what she is doing and how thin the line is that she is dancing on.
In that regard, I think she deserves much more than just having her posts deleted.

Thanks for listening. 🙂

If this weren't so pathetic, it would almost be funny... Did you mention that you also logged into that other forum under the name Paplin? Or did you brag about going over there to spy (how brilliant!) or just to hang out with people? I couldn't say. Only you know why you signed up there and whether it was some sort of mutual agreement between you two (how desperate). I never once praised that other forum, nor did I invite anyone to join it; I believe it is my personal right to decide how many different forums I want to be a part of. I haven't spent a single second praising other forums or sites where people socialize (unlike kika, who openly invited everyone to a Facebook chat). I stated my opinion about kika publicly, and I stand by it. Who are you to act this way and then try to use kika to punish me? What happened? Could you not handle it yourself, or is kika simply the black sheep who has to carry everyone else's baggage? Or perhaps you volunteered to take the fall so you could stay looking innocent while she remains the one viewed as desperate by the rest of the American community. It's truly terrible... you even went as far as deleting my harmless posts in the chat... In my opinion, those posts should be restored so everyone can read them and judge for themselves. And I will ask the admin again: isn't there supposed to be a specific topic for the chat? And where did you get the idea that nothing I say here is valid? Don't try to put your own words in my mouth... you do that to everyone, so please, control yourself. I love this forum, but I really don't like you two. Honestly, you are becoming harder and harder to like; you've turned into exactly what I suspected you would. As for kika, I have my opinion, and I'm certainly not the only one—about 80% of the American community feels the same way. If I didn't love this forum, I wouldn't be writing on it. I'm not the only one complaining about kika. If the admins reading this see the trouble she causes, they will realize what needs to be done. You said this is a free medium... so why did you delete all my posts if it's supposed to be free? Or do you think it's only "free" for you, since you have the power to censor while I don't? That's quite a version of freedom! And regarding what I "deserve," you've already shown your hand by calling upon the veteran kika to step in and punish me! You aren't actually that brave, because you know deep down that I am right.

I wanted to reach out and ask the admins one more time just to be absolutely certain: are we allowed to discuss pretty much anything here in the chat, or is there a specific set of topics we should be sticking to? I'd love to know if there's a particular theme we need to follow!
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I would kindly ask Sandra Ward23, who seems to think she’s running the show here, to please refrain from interfering with my inquiry... because if we really need to go back to the beginning, I certainly have enough material to work with, especially since you and kika were the ones encouraging all this in the first place.
Those higher up in management will see everything eventually... and now you're actually deleting my messages in the Chat... which leaves me wondering why exactly... is this some sort of power trip, or are you just trying to hide the conversation?
As far as I'm concerned, you could have simply left my posts alone, but instead, you went out of your way to wipe them out for some specific reason, didn't you? Perhaps it was to cover up a lack of knowledge or to mask your true colors and what you're really about.
So, I am asking you once more: please stay out of this matter, as I directed my question to the site admins, not to you... thank you!
And on a separate note, I have one more question... are there strictly assigned topics for the Chat, or is it okay to post about several different subjects at once? Thanks so much!!!!
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I was wondering if this could be classified as trolling, because things have started getting pretty heated over at the chat corner ii on the diaspora forum. I’d really appreciate some expert insight from one of the admins on this matter.

"You can try to erase us, Sandra Ward23 or duckling, however you see fit... but let's be real, you're just logged into that forum like everyone else... unless you think laws don't apply to you? I suppose you feel like you hold all the power here..."
It's almost as if they expect you to realize you're being paid for this—for spying, monitoring, investigating, and enforcing rules... when all you actually get in return is a mountain of hate and resentment from people you don't even know. Honestly, maybe it's better that way for you, because knowing the truth about us would probably just make everything even harder to bear.
For what it's worth, I'll say it again: James doesn't have an issue with what's happening here, he just has an issue with the two of you acting like total tyrants... though perhaps those higher up can see how much you're craving attention, so they'll give you a little satisfaction by keeping you waiting.

You might want to look into getting a dedicated water filtration system...

I found this link for you to check out; I ended up purchasing one myself recently, and I have to say, I am just incredibly happy with how it works!
How to get rid of cellulite? in Health ·
Douglas Diaz2 said:Since dealing with cellulite is basically just part of my daily grind, I can say from firsthand experience that your lifestyle is such a massive factor. You know, things like working out, what you eat, staying hydrated, just keeping active... but then there's also genetics, which is a whole other story. I've noticed so many women in their later years who don't really bother with sports or eating healthy at all, yet they barely have any cellulite, while on the flip side, you see these young girls who live incredibly disciplined lives and still struggle with it. It’s funny, honestly, because just like so many other things in life, it really comes down to a stroke of luck, I guess 🤷 In general, it seems like cellulite is becoming more common, much like how unhealthy food is everywhere now. And for those of us working in this field, it just means there's more work on our plates 🙂

It’s the honest truth... my mother had five children and never struggled with weight gain; she always returned to her natural weight quite easily, and honestly, she barely even knew what cellulite was. She used to say that having kids doesn't actually damage your body, but rather that the older you get, the harder it is for your system to bounce back—in fact, sometimes you might even see the opposite effect if you aren't careful. And looking back, she was absolutely right. You really need to maintain a balanced lifestyle, eating healthy meals at regular intervals. For her, sticking to a routine was vital: breakfast was non-negotiable, followed by fruit for a snack, then lunch, another piece of fruit, an afternoon snack—usually a quick sandwich—and finally a light dinner, often just a glass of milk or some yogurt. Nowadays, most of us barely have time to sit down for lunch, let alone worry about these other structured meals and snacks.

Arthur Young10 said:I've been using Guam dren mud for years now, and every single year before the summer heat hits, I make sure to do a little routine of about five or six treatments... honestly, it’s way more budget-friendly than heading to a spa since I can just whip up $67 five treatments right at home... this mud is really the only thing that actually works for me, and their creams are absolutely fantastic too, though I know that alone isn't enough to totally get rid of cellulite once and for all... you really have to change your lifestyle habits, and let's be real, that's usually the hardest part for all of us 🙂

I find Guam dren to be the absolute best as well... I’ve truly tried just about everything out there, but my go-to routine is using the Guam dren mud followed by a shower, and then applying Elacin (they even have those handy day and night ampoules). It really does help reduce the appearance, but the catch is that you really ought to be using it consistently all year round, rather than just squeezing in a month or two right before beach season arrives... unfortunately, for someone like me, maintaining that level of consistency over the long haul gets pretty expensive!
Grace Fowler said:Hello to all my dear fellow warriors!!!
Everything is going smoothly and feeling quite light for me... 😉 I honestly don't know how else to describe it, but this round of immunotherapy and electrotherapy was a complete success; I didn't experience a single unpleasant side effect, and everything just went by incredibly easy. I recently had some lung scans done, which show the exact same status as they did three months ago, all four of my usual tumor markers are right within the normal range, and my blood counts are looking excellent too. My dear friends, I feel wonderful; it seems like I always get a little extra wind in my sails just when everyone else thinks things are looking their darkest. I am keeping all of you and your loved ones in my thoughts and sending so much strength your way, because I truly believe that staying positive gives us that vital extra boost we need to keep fighting.
My results from Germany are still quite fresh, so once I’ve had a chance to rest a bit, I will check back in with more specific details.
Warm regards, Grace

P.S. I just wanted to add one more thought—over these long nine years of battling this beast, I have become personally convinced that the true path toward healing (and I really do mean true healing) lies in combining modern medicine with alternative approaches. I don't mean to offend anyone, but unfortunately, there is no such thing as a single "magic bullet" cure that works all by itself....

Way to go, Grace, just keep moving forward!!! That is exactly how true warriors handle this!!!👍🙏
Angela Wright said:Dear Anna,
Speaking from my own personal experience—as someone whose mother spent her first six months relying solely on macrobiotics, bioenergy work, and homeopathy, only to face a relapse shortly after—I feel a heavy responsibility to tell you that cancer is a different beast entirely. I truly believe it’s simply impossible to rely solely on alternative medicine if you want to see real results. While I have such deep respect for holistic approaches and natural wellness, I’ve always felt that true healing requires a much more balanced, multi-faceted strategy. In my experience, trying to tackle serious health concerns by looking only at unconventional methods can feel like trying to fix a structural issue in a house by just painting over the cracks—it might look better on the surface, but the foundation still needs professional attention. I find that a thoughtful integration of modern medical science alongside those wonderful natural remedies provides the most stable path toward recovery..
I truly appreciate you sharing your perspective with me, though I have to say that I find your assertion to be quite misplaced. In my view, such a claim lacks a solid foundation, especially since any conclusion of that magnitude really requires rigorous scientific evidence backed by years of dedicated studies and peer-reviewed research to hold any weight.
I really think there’s some merit to what you mentioned regarding the benefits of noni and aloe vera. They are healthy additions to a diet and certainly won't do any harm, and I truly believe they can provide some level of support for the body, but let's be realistic—they aren't going to cure cancer. We see so many people out there claiming they were completely healed just by relying on noni and aloe, but anecdotal stories aren't the same thing as truth; for anything to be considered fact, we need legitimate, scientific evidence. If you don't mind me being blunt, I have to share a bit of my own experience. My mother took noni every single day, following the recommended dosage strictly, from the very beginning of her illness until just before she passed away two years and four months later. It didn't cure her, and believe me, I know there are countless people out there who, much like yourself, praise these substances as if they are a magic bullet for every ailment under the sun. We shouldn't delude ourselves or claim something is a miracle cure when it simply isn't. It becomes incredibly frustrating, especially for those of us who have been forced to face these struggles head-on and have taken the time to look much deeper into the actual science of it all.

I couldn't agree more with what was said, though if I may add my own two cents to the conversation. We were consistently incorporating noni, aloe vera, and Mykosan mushrooms into our little guy's routine—he was such a brave soul, honestly, he never once complained or turned anything away, even when he wasn't feeling his best. While those supplements didn't ultimately cure him, I truly believe they played a vital role in helping him endure the grueling marathon of fifty radiation treatments and two rounds of chemotherapy. It felt like they gave his immune system that extra bit of strength it needed to hold on just a little longer and certainly helped manage some of the physical pain he was going through. Sadly, the cancer was simply too aggressive and moved much faster than we could ever hope to keep up with.😢
restlesscanyon16 said:Honestly, hearing a doctor take such a cynical stance was a bit of a shock to our system. At the end of the day, their whole purpose is to heal people—or at least give it their absolute best shot—rather than just sending you home and telling you not to waste your money. It almost makes you wonder if they’re just feeling the financial pressure themselves and trying to play it safe rather than offering even a glimmer of optimism, even if it's uncertain. 🤷
Of course, their skepticism isn't going to stop us from fighting this battle with everything we've got. And thank you so much for sharing that link! I haven't had a chance to dive into it yet, but it certainly feels like a beacon of hope. 👍

Oh my goodness... I truly have nothing but wonderful things to say about the medical team over at Mayo Clinic, specifically working alongside Professor Paladin and Professor Miklic. They stood right there in the trenches with us during the incredibly difficult fight against the brain tumor my little boy was facing. Not once did they make us feel hopeless; in fact, they were constant sources of encouragement. They would always talk to us about survivors and discuss various alternative treatments too. They were never dismissive or blunt about whether an alternative approach might work or not; quite the opposite, they actually encouraged us to explore those paths. Even when things reached a point where it felt like we were running out of options, they stayed by our side, providing comfort and strength... 😢, and they made themselves available to us whenever we needed them, no matter the hour. I also have to mention Dr. Santek from oncology, whom my son absolutely adored. It really catches me off guard when I hear such cold, clinical statements from doctors who really ought to
work on their bedside manner and learn how to communicate with families in a more compassionate way... 😢 😢
