I honestly can't get over that video where they show how to give a cat a cold by putting it in a bucket... 😬 😬
I think you totally missed my point. I’m talking about the Quick launch bar—I live for having those shortcuts for "Show Desktop" and File Explorer right there, it's basically a survival necessity for me...😁
Kevin Chavez3 said:I mean, honestly, when did The Swiss ever have a decent band besides Black Sabbath? Never.
I totally forgot to mention 😬
Liliput😁
Here are my top 4 biggest pet peeves when I’m forced to use public or someone else's computer:
1. That "group similar taskbar buttons" nonsense... why does everything need to be clumped together like that?🙂
2. When there isn't a single Desktop shortcut or even a Windows Explorer icon in the Quick Launch bar to actually find anything...
3. All those different view settings—honestly, if it isn't set to Details, I don't want to see it...
4. Those obnoxious Windows startup and shutdown sounds that just blast right into your ears...

Just saw an old lady walking by with some cookies. 😁

honestly, yeah... when you're talking peer to peer, you just recognize each other instantly, there's no mistaking it...😁
besides, has the rest of the world ever even noticed when a Canadian is the one keeping the trains running on time or running those local bagel shops? never.
Alex Rogers91 said:Yeah, I saw that too...
but Canadians just aren't human.
noooooooooo. *gives a look of pure, patronizing disappointment*
Alex Rogers91 said:Who says I’m gonna just sit there and take some cheese pastry being shoved in my face? I'll slap them with a pack of Marlboros before they even blink. Honestly, I've had enough of all you people...
That’s nothing, really. Even the Canadians just call it plain cheese pastry...🙄
Kevin Chavez3 said:There was some serious bullshit in that one part, maybe around the third track... 🙂
Ugh, yeah! Absolute garbage, you're spot on.
Kevin Chavez3 said:The stage presence? Honestly, the singer reminds me of some half-French bastard mix of Ripper and Barrett. 👎
To quote France:
he's good, he's really actually just good what are you even doing😁
And hey, I snagged a shirt for like a third less than that outrageous price they were asking. Hehe! 😍
By the way, it's the exact same "brand" as that Calexic shirt.😬
It was exactly what Kevin Chavez3 was talking about. 😢
only, you know, completely different. 😁 😁
it was absolutely incredible. TYG aren't just stars in their genre, they're true experimentalists who constantly blur and mash up musical boundaries; yesterday, you could hear the entire spectrum of old and new movements, maybe excluding reggae and country, if anything. 😬 we're talking industrial rock, industrial metal, bits of early electro-industrial, noise, (progressive) metal, "drone" electronics, minimal techno(?!), heavy trance pulses, drum'n'bass rhythms, techno, melodic ambient... from start to finish, there are no limits for them. They take sounds and put them into entirely new contexts, hunting for connections between genres, and whatever they grab, they manage to make sound high-quality—never one-dimensional, never cookie-cutter, never just following some trendy fad. Francesca (with the most distinctive stage presence I've ever seen 😳, which adds such an irreplaceable layer to their live shows...), the vocals swung from terrifyingly dramatic to soft and poetic, and the charisma was just something you rarely see... plus an amazing drummer and keyboardist... nothing is left to chance, every single tone, every sample, and every beat hits perfectly, yet somehow they sound so damn far from being mathematical. They throw you around aggressively with the industrial and metal stuff, then "center" you again with more energetic rock tracks, throwing chaos into 😬 with some punk (Jim!), hypnotizing you with ambient passages, shaking you up, pushing you forward with powerful basslines and intense beats, just BLOWS YOU AWAY!!11 😈 😈
you really had to experience them live (and I apologize to everyone I ignored back when I was eight years old in '89, choosing to stay home and watch Ivy, Buck, and Dark instead of going to see TYG after hearing their new record), though honestly, I might have been even happier if they’d played in a smaller, more intimate, "claustrophobic" club where a band this extreme could deliver an even more visceral experience to the crowd. They played the best tracks from the older albums; the only thing I missed was a bit of that spooky cabaret vibe from the K. Weill cover album. I wasn't totally feeling that last track from the second encore, but it didn't really change my overall impression.
all in all, a unique band with an electric performance; I experienced them as this blend of aggressive and subtle, apocalyptic anxiety and optimism, earthy and ethereal, dark and light, malignant and benign sounds, all at full intensity, and man, that is exactly how I like it... sending love to the band, especially Francesca, wishing them nothing but the absolute best.
and cheers to those XY people waving that gay little smiley face at me while being totally unsatisfied
and to that XX who actually gets it. 🙂 😁
If you aren't listening to the Gods, you're just plain uncool!😁
I think I remember hearing some old theory once about how people who listen to country music are actually decent human beings... 🙂
but then they say the mainstream crowd listens to the villains. 😈
I’m rolling up to this thing with a whole damn army of lyrics backing me up, acting like my own personal security detail 😬
catch ya later🙂
Ugh, moderators, and now cross-posting too👎
Might as well go upload some stuff since I clearly don't have anything better to do with my life...
😁
ihihihi😁
And they’re carrying around those fancy little designer bags, too... you know, Calvin Klein, DKNY, or whatever else... just so everyone can see exactly how "indie" and anti-capitalist they claim to be...
😎😁
In that regard, I’ve always been completely clueless, even when I was standing right there watching Jesus Christ—aka David Eugene Edwards—shredding on stage right in front of my eyes...😢 😁
David Sullivan4 said:All that singing and making out felt totally hippy-dippy, but since Big Safe was conducting, I felt way less awkward about the whole thing...
I mean, seriously. 😛
David Sullivan4 said:In my head during the show, I kept adding Brendan, Joe, and Guy to whatever The Evens were playing, so it basically felt like some tiny private Fugazi set the entire time... 🙂
God, I hate shows where you actually have to invent sounds in your own head just to keep from dying of boredom...😁 😁
🤣
Honestly, even I was a little caught off guard seeing Kevin Chavez3 write that. If we were actually ranking people by charisma, he’d be dropping straight to the bottom of my list in record time...😁
Jerry Mitchell62 said:I haven't stumbled upon that specific theory yet, but that whole "Go ahead, girl, dive right in and give it everything you've got!" vibe definitely sounds like the opening act for that pregnancy everyone's talking about. 😁
Honestly, I heard through the grapevine that the guys in the band were basically just messing around and joking each other up after she got carried away... 🙂
