"Grasshopper jumped into her sleeve" is actually a metaphor for pregnancy 😬

Honestly, what I live for is this:
1. Raw cookie dough and unbaked batter—sweet, salty, flaky, yeasted, crunchy 😁, liquid, whatever... it doesn't even matter. 🙂
2. Fresh yeast
3. Wheat bran (I think that's how you say it?) 😕

you’ve got a bad vibe 😬

because of those guys from the Midwest - mhjngg 😵
yeah, I know, I'm being boring...

1. Knoppers
2. Keebler
3.-4. Keebler coconut and some generic coconut wafers

What an absolute disaster of a list!! 😁

-> MANNER 😵 🙂 😵

The absolute top three most vital things in this entire world:
just eating and drinking...

dmj said:Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane when someone asks if I want coffee and then tries to hand me a Nescafe. I’m still out here staging a one-person protest against people mixing up those terms...

Look, you've got a point there, because I guess I've been guilty of treating Nescafe as if it actually counts as real coffee, even though it really isn't... 🙂 Besides, whenever I have folks over to my place, I always make sure to ask them straight up if they want actual coffee or just some Nescafe. 🥳😁

Susan Clark10 said:Look, I'm not halfway across the world, I'm just sitting right here in my own room where I can drink whatever the hell I want and make whatever kind of top ten list appeals to me... and honestly, since you're clearly obsessed with steamrollers, I'm definitely not getting worked up over this.👋

And for the record, it isn't "lady" me... it's Susan Clark10... that's an L as in Los Angeles... ☕

I am actually about to lose my mind here... 😁 😁 😁

Ponor said:I totally get what you mean about coffee being its own little ritual, but I honestly don't see anything wrong with grabbing a cup right after lunch. I mean, I definitely don't feel bad about eating two meals back-to-back, if anything, I love it!

The whole thing is just that I want to actually crave coffee. Like how I am right now.
I'm gonna go grab myself a quick cup of Joe😍

Once we start reading from the very first page, you just know... it’s a dead giveaway that time is finally starting to eat away at us and we're officially sliding into the autumn of our lives😬

Ponor said:I’m right there with you. I have a massive thing for people who are a little bit messed up. But not the obvious kind, either—not the ones who wear their trauma on their sleeve from day one. It’s about those people where you don't realize how broken they actually are until months down the line... and then it just hits you. 😁

It honestly happens constantly, just a total bottomless pit of disappointment. But hey, I guess that’s just my type, so what can you do? 😁 😁

Look, I’ve been picking up on this weirdly hostile vibe coming from you for a while now... 😁

Here are my top 3 things that most people absolutely love doing, but for some reason, I just can't get behind:
1. Hopping in the shower right after waking up (that feeling of warm water hitting a warm, sleepy, groggy body—honestly, it's just gross)
2. Drinking coffee right after lunch (coffee is basically a meal all its own 😍 )
3. Reading The New York Times starting from the very first page

What I was really getting at there was the whole headache of trying to make a choice, obviously...😬

Oh, for sure, you absolutely can't get by without it.
But honestly, I feel like we only actually start getting smart about this stuff as we get older... or maybe we just don't. 🙄 😁

Carol Jackson45 said:Oh man, that movie absolutely floored me... which is weird because I usually can't even wrap my head around him or Kate Winslet being in it together,

LOL, tell me about it, I felt the exact same way. When it played at that big film festival over in NYC, I actually skipped it specifically because of the cast choice. Then much later, I stumbled upon it on DVD by total accident, and I didn't even realize what it was at first since I'd totally forgotten the title. But MAN... once I started watching, it just hit me right where it hurts...👍

Carol Jackson45 said:plus I've never really been a huge fan of Kirsten Dunst either (I mean, she's Spider-Man's girl, who could actually be a fan of her like that?)

well, three different people (all separate) have already told me that I actually look just like her...😬

Speaking of being easy on the eyes, did you guys catch Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?😲Man, talk about a knockout...
But honestly, that guy drives me absolutely insane. Like, seriously...😳

Nicholas King62 said:Ugh, I honestly don't get it! How am I supposed to know which way to say something? Like, if I'm trying to figure out if it's "cross over," "pass through," or some other weird variation... how does anyone actually nail that down?

Look, just try saying it out loud and you'll realize immediately that you aren't stumbling over some gibberish version, you're saying the actual phrase, like "crossing over"... it's just the standard way people talk because that's what's normal. But honestly, you already knew that, so why are you even asking such a ridiculous question...😁 😁 😉

redcrane28 said:Man, pronunciation is easy, honestly, because to my ears all those different vowel shifts sound basically identical anyway—I haven't developed that kind of ear yet, mine is strictly trained on standard American vowels😁—but it’s the spelling that actually trips me up sometimes.

I end up saying "O-zek" regardless.

Oh, please! You pronounce things properly so you actually know how to write them down, capiche?😁 Whether you use one regional dialect or another, it's going to serve you just fine.😎

Oh, and redcrane28, have you ever actually listened to people from the Midwest talking? It is an absolute must-hear...🤣

Down in rural Susak, they speak this incredible old-school American dialect too... I'd love to pick it up if I could find someone to teach me...😁

Red Wave said:Those specific accented vowels are totally useless, but since we were forced to learn them in school, I actually know how to use them now... and honestly, I've lived in Chicago for so long that I'm even starting to distinguish them when I'm just talking normally...😳

EVEN IN SPEECH😁 😁

Red Wave said:Instead of dealing with all those annoying vowel shifts, I'd much rather just go back to using the old-school dialect versions—you know, the thick ones, or maybe the thin ones, I can't quite remember which... 🤔

Man, we actually have a bit of an advantage by default here. Back when I was a kid and couldn't tell if a word used one vowel sound or another, I’d just look up the Midwestern version of the word and boom—problem solved instantly... 🙂 😬

But I have to admit, there are still two words that absolutely drive me crazy:
1. short story
2. dictionary.
I mean, seriously, why on earth?!

😲

If we ever actually meet, I’m making you pass a litmus test first: try saying "Ivan Blažicko" without tripping over your own tongue 😬

And honestly, people from the West Coast generally can't wrap their heads around basic accents or nuances in spelling 🙏 🙏 🙏
They act like they're some elite tech geniuses at Google or Apple just because they ditch all the proper punctuation and accents when they type, hiding behind this whole "it's just programmer habit" excuse or whatever social nonsense they use to justify being lazy 🙂

But what really gets my blood boiling is seeing these butchered sentence structures:
"If you're gonna come by, I'll bring you a CD"🙏
