ugh, ugh, ugh🙂
I’m honestly feeling just like Mance right now, because I haven't eaten a single thing all day... seriously😲
by the time I actually finish typing this post, they'll probably have finished their whole set
between Tiger Balm, Minutemen, and that Eric the Half-a-Bee track by Python😬

I honestly have zero clue what that even tastes like...😁

Ugh, no way! "FRUC! - just some totally messed up juice," it’s neither syrupy nor even decent carton stuff, honestly, it's just trash👍

Melissa Collins41 said:Honestly, if we're talking about my absolute favorite drinks, I could go on forever because there’s just so much junk out there, but nothing hits quite like the classics... you know, those nostalgic flavors that actually taste like something instead of just flavored chemicals and regret. I mean, don't even get me started on all that overpriced, organic, pressed-juice nonsense they try to sell you at Whole Foods like it's some kind of miracle cure when it really just tastes like grass... give me a cold glass of Tang any day of the week, or maybe just a massive pitcher of Flavor Aid when I'm feeling particularly reckless... there's just something about that sugary, neon-colored bliss that makes everything feel a little more tolerable, especially when life is throwing nothing but curveballs at you...
Honestly, I am just sitting here thinking about how much I crave a peach iced tea, specifically that classic peach Nestea vibe, and it’s driving me absolutely insane because nothing ever tastes quite like the real thing when you actually need it...

I am telling you right now, I have officially had it with this absolute garbage they try to pass off as a beverage... I just tried the most pathetic excuse for iced tea in my entire life and I am honestly still shaking from how bad it was. It’s easily the worst damn iced tea I have ever laid eyes on, let alone tasted... I don't know what kind of madness possessed them to bottle this swill, but it’s an insult to anyone with actual taste buds... 😬

Honestly, if you want to talk about actual quality water, there is only one answer: Evian. It’s Evian or nothing, period... everything else is just overpriced tap water masquerading as something special, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise!🙂

I could never quite wrap my head around that whole conducting thing, it always seemed so vague to me😍

And that one game show hosted by that lady who looked like she’d spent way too much time under a heat lamp—man, I still think about it all the time😁

Then there was that "bake it and tell the kids" segment🙂

Oh, and that poor guy who constantly gets books dropped right on his head
😍

Ugh. Honestly, I wish things could just go back to how they used to be😳 🙂

just because the KRONOS topic is 😬

Look, I think ironcrane7 is being way too dramatic calling the border shift "so misplaced." To me, that feels like a massive overstatement... whether you move the line or leave it right where it is, it’s basically just a neutral observation of how things stand. It isn't inherently good or bad, it just reflects the reality of the situation, period.

ironcrane7 said:I honestly thought the whole idea of drawing lines between high and low culture was just totally outdated and irrelevant...

I wouldn't go as far as calling it "irrelevant," because that implies there's some inherent value judgment being made, which isn't really the point here. It’s more that the boundary has just become incredibly blurry and washed out, which is a textbook symptom of postmodernism, but that doesn't mean this new fuzziness is somehow better than when we actually had a clear distinction to work with...

I actually bit my tongue right here ((c) Mom) because I didn't want to go all out writing about him. Honestly, I even gave some thought to Sufjan Stevens, but then again, Sam is just... different. He’s got this more laid-back, steady vibe, you know? Like he’s mature and just connects with you on that raw, emotional level without trying too hard... 😁 😁

with a cat (as your companion/tool), you can paint ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY. hint: "spring, summer, fall, winter... and then spring again"

I’m telling you, this dog is basically a full-blown singer-songwriter...

Carol Jackson45, listen to me, dog pee isn't some soft little plush toy you can just cuddle up with... 😠 😁

it's like freaking giant sand

Sure, you could technically call them a quartet if you want to get all technical about it, but i honestly, they function just as much as a full-blown band. Besides, repeating the exact same words over and over in a single sentence is just terrible writing... 😛

Ethan Perez28, shadowgardener12, seriously, you guys need to take a much closer look at what Kronos Quartet is actually doing... they play everything under the sun. You’ve got them tucked away under Classical, sure, but then you see them listed under Pop too. It's not like I have every single discography memorized, but it's pretty obvious they're tackling Bill Evans, Hendrix, Bollywood, African rhythms... you name it...
I honestly have no clue what kind of nonsense you're spinning or what logic leads you to believe they "should" only ever be labeled as a classical quartet!
Besides, no matter how much you argue, it's all just a waste of breath... 😁🙄

Ethan Perez28 said:I’ve honestly never heard anyone call a string quartet playing classical music a "band" unless they were being sarcastic, but hey, whatever floats your boat...🙄

By the way, even the Chicago Underground Quartet is technically called a band😉 but those guys are clearly jazz musicians

Look, I’m not making fun of you or anything, it just caught me off guard and made me laugh a little😁

I really thought I was going to learn something new here, but apparently not. They aren't exactly "classical purists," which is pretty much their whole deal anyway.
Let's take a quick look at AllMusic.
"No one seems quite clear as to whether they're a classical group with jazz and populist leanings, or a populist band with classical expertise."

jimmy jazz said:The Pacific Northwest indie scene😂 😂 😂

And what on earth is supposed to be "enhancing the experience" about them? They’re just miserable, rainy messes...

Ponor said:it wasn't some bot that wrote this, it was me, you little punk... 😁

😲 I can't even hear myself think without getting worked up.
dammit, everything actually made sense for once... 😳 😉
my bad. screw it. just screw all of it.
Cronus in Music ·
Ethan Perez28 - so you're telling me the Chicago underground duos and trios aren't actually bands?
And what about the Tamara Obrovac Ensemble... they aren't a band either?
Wait, is Kammerflimmer Kollektief not a band?
Is the Dave Brubeck Quartet not even a band?
Man, I am clearly living in a total delusion here...

Darin said:It’s written right there on the poster, but honestly, I wasn't even thinking about it that way... I just figured anyone actually showing up to a classical concert would have at least a tiny bit of a general education under their belt, you know? Like, they'd actually recognize the name Kronos Quartet if they saw it... 😁

This is such a textbook example of someone just making stuff up to sound smart on social media. Honestly, you clearly had no clue that we were even talking about a band here—specifically the Kronos Quartet—which you basically admitted by claiming that SOMEONE told you yesterday they were the ones who did the soundtrack for Requiem for Dreams... if you actually want to be considered a true fan, you might want to try doing a little research first...😁
