Yeah, I had the exact same thought. Especially since, like so many people, I completely lost my sense of taste and smell while recovering from Corona. But then again, I kind of debunked that theory for myself... see, the smell of onions only shows up under one armpit for me. If it were just an issue with my sense of smell being messed up, I'd probably be detecting that same scent under both pits. Sooo, probably not that...

I mean, sure, that all sounds logical enough... and honestly, I’m already doing most of that. Cut out the caffeine, eating way less meat and protein, haven't touched sugar in ages... But so far? Absolutely zero improvement to report. 😢

Looks like there’s a whole crowd of us dealing with this exact same thing... makes me wonder if the OP actually fought through Corona too.
How are you guys handling it?
I've been trying antiperspirant, but once it wears off, the smell just comes right back. I'm washing my pits more often, using disinfectant, airing things out... nothing seems to be doing the trick so far. 🙂

It’s for a patient (54F) dealing with liver cirrhosis—alcoholism has been ruled out.
She needs a transplant, but our main goal right now is pinning down the actual cause of the cirrhosis. The doctor suspected elevated copper or iron levels. Turns out, copper is totally fine, but the ferritin is through the roof.

Is this high level a potential cause, or just a side effect of everything else going on?
One more thing—tumors have been ruled out, except for some concerns regarding colon cancer, but we're still waiting on the colonoscopy results.

Also, I'm curious about these other values... why are they listed twice?

I was wondering how you actually get on the liver transplant list here in the States? Is there some kind of official protocol everyone follows? I assume doctors from smaller hospitals just send referrals over to Washington, D.C.? Or do you basically have to be Bob Dylan to actually land a liver... Specifically looking at a 53-year-old woman, no connections, no special favors, nothing... What are the odds for someone like that? 😢

There isn't enough data to say for sure how subclinical hypothyroidism links to infertility, but there's plenty of data showing that treating subclinical hypothyroidism—when TSH is over 4 mIU/L—boosts pregnancy rates and lowers miscarriage rates.

Just keep in mind, doctors don't all agree on this, so this recommendation isn't set in stone for every physician.

Two weeks after that result, I went back to redo the tests along with FT3, FT4, anti-TG, and anti-TPO. Here are the results using the CMIA method:

TSH: 0.91
FT4: 13.48
FT3: 4.35
anti-TG: 1.78
anti-TPO
everything is within range 🤷

I feel like that's way too high to even bother... Am I wrong?🙂

Once it's installed, it should pick up your actual Windows 7 product key/CD key. Just write that thing down on a piece of paper or, better yet, snap a photo of it with your phone. Then, once you wipe the hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows, just plug that key in and you'll be all set with activation...😁

My work laptop came with Windows 7 pre-installed when I bought it...
So, I'm looking at the product ID...
I really want to just wipe everything and install a fresh version because this thing is dragging so much and I just want to format the whole drive... if I have the installation CD, do I just type in that ID and call it a day? 🕺

I started trying to install Windows XP from a CD, but the drive won't even spin up... nothing at all... 🤦 didn't have a second disc handy to check if the drive was busted or if it was just this specific disc...
Then I tried using a USB again, and to my surprise, the blue "Windows setup" screen actually popped up. I thought I finally had it, thinking the USB would work, but then a blue screen with an error message flashed and everything died again...

still nothing fixed 🙂

Also, you're running an ancient processor—an Intel Pentium 4 with just one core. To prevent it from choking on Windows 7, you'd probably have to disable Aero and a bunch of other features, leaving you with this "dated" looking version of 7, which seems pretty pointless... If I were you, I'd just wipe the hard drive, install a fresh copy of Windows XP, grab the right drivers, and call it a day...

So I tried reinstalling XP today. Made a bootable USB and everything seemed fine until it hit me with: NTLDR is missing ☕
The installation won't even start... how do I get this USB to actually run the installer properly? I looked up the error on Google, but I really don't feel like reading through pages of stuff... 😵
Can you explain what to do? I can't run the install from a CD because I pulled the drive out... I've got a hole where it used to be 🕺

The issue is pretty simple: no sound.
It used to run Windows XP, and everything worked fine back then, but since I picked this machine up from someone, I wanted a fresh start and decided to wipe it and install Windows 7.

Ever since that, the audio is completely dead. I've been hunting through the web for drivers, found a few possibilities, but every time I try to install them, I just get a blue screen... nothing works.

Device Manager is showing a yellow exclamation mark.

What's the move? Should I just grab a new sound card or go back to Windows XP? 🤔
