L.A. Confidential (1997) in Movies ·
When I first caught this in the theater, it was easily my favorite movie of all time. Since then, it’s slipped down the rankings—it's not even in my top 10 anymore (I've seen a massive amount of films since then, so that's not surprising)—but it still holds its own within my top 15 best movies ever...

Kim Basinger and Kevin Spacey deliver truly stunning performances, and Curtis Hanson’s direction is incredible; honestly, it's one of the best-directed films I've ever seen...

coastalorca3: No, my bad on that emoji—it clearly came off wrong. I was actually poking fun at your "waiting" for Fight Club... My little cousins were hanging out with me when I sent that, and they thought the smiley was "cool," so I threw it in there. Nothing personal, I promise...

What that emoji should have actually represented is how I feel about Fight Club... For me, it’s easily one of the most overrated movies from the last few years. Tell me, though: did it live up to the hype for you?

I just saw on CNN that this documentary won an award for being one of the best documentaries of all time... Do you think it'll hit theaters, or are we just waiting for it to show up on TV or streaming? I’d definitely be down to watch it...

On another note, I absolutely HAVE to add Solaris (can't believe I forgot that one) and Punch Drunk Love to my list...

Oh, man, how could I forget *Gangs of New York*? And *The Ring* too? Those would definitely make my top five...

So, 2003 is right around the corner... What we saw in 2002 was just the beginning (aside from a few outliers hitting theaters at the very last minute), and now we can finally start looking ahead at what’s coming to our local American cinemas in 2003...

Which movies are you most excited about? Is there anything you're just dying to see? Naturally, if you aren't living here in the States, you'll be talking about whatever is opening up in your own neck of the woods...

Here is what I'm personally looking forward to:
1. 8 Mile
2. Chicago
3. The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers

Yeah, I’m kind of in the same boat... It’s not that the movie isn't worth a few $9.00, but there isn't anything groundbreaking enough to make you walk out thinking, "Wow, now I see why they made so much cash..."

Personally, though, my favorite part has to be when John Corbett's parents show up to meet the Greek family... That scene was gold!

I still have TNT and Cartoon Network. I'm on a Disney cable package, and they include those along with five different Discovery Channel channels and some other stuff.

Hey redowl90, just give me that Golden Monitor award already. 🙂

Hmm, you think I won't? Honestly, I'm actually starting to recall those movies people on here were raving about earlier this year...

Just finished watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman...

Hold on a second... Where did you find that movie? You couldn't have seen it on TNT, right? I saw it listed in the schedule, but I can't remember which day... I'm asking because I don't even have TNT on my satellite service anymore; they encrypted Cartoon Network, and TNT used to be right after Cartoon on the guide. Plus, if you actually watched it on TNT, how did you get access to their programming?
