I've been hunting for a thread about this specific event, but I can't seem to find one, even though I feel like I’ve scrolled past it somewhere here... If a discussion already exists, mods, please feel free to move this post to the right place.
Anyway, I wanted to ask something—it seems like every year there's a standout film that basically defines the festival. For instance, two years ago it was Borrati, and last year it was Control, so I was wondering what you guys would recommend for the upcoming edition?
The movie is honestly incredible... the opening is explosive, it settles down a bit toward the end, but the B-side is a total powerhouse on its own...
I am definitely going to see it again!
I’m actually considering driving out to Budapest to find the nearest IMAX theater equipped with a 15,000-watt sound system... my crew tells me the video and audio experience is leagues beyond this 3D simulation at AMC Theatres...
btw. ...and NINE INCH NAILS recently filmed a concert using 3D technology even before U2, it just hasn't been released yet... I've got goosebumps just thinking about it... ugh...
There are also talks between NIN and director James Cameron to film the show in 3-D ("to at least have proof when U2 rips us off next year that we did it first," Reznor says), and the band also has been in ongoing discussions with HBO for a Year zero miniseries which would launch in conjunction with a second album and an alternate-reality gama.
When asked about his futur plans for touring , after The lights in The sky wraps up, Reznor says The next series of shows May be a different beast altogether.
"Next time might just be white lights in a club and it's about the music," he says. "Because I'll be broke and that's all I'll have."
I’m just trying to wrap my head around something—my paperwork shows follow-ups with specialists 2 and 3. Specialist 2 is an eye doctor, obviously, but 3 is a psychologist. The thing is, I totally blew it during my military psych eval by acting like an idiot and giving some pretty nonsensical answers. Because of that, my local clinic flagged me and added this psych consult to the list. Now I'm wondering, does this mean I only need to see the eye doctor for my new driver's license, or am I stuck having to retake the psych exam too...?🤣

The standard procedure now is that you probably need a primary care physician to sign off on you first. Then you go to the ophthalmologist, and after they check you out, they issue the clearance and set an expiration date.
The last time I went to that clinic on Main Street—which was maybe a year ago—they didn't ask for a note from my GP, whereas at the clinic over by the hospital, that paperwork was mandatory. You just call them, set up an appointment, get examined, and walk out with your clearance immediately.
Anyway, your best bet is to call the local clinics and ask what their specific requirements are.
Hmm, I honestly don't know which of those two is better, but I heard that at one of them (I think), you don't even need any prior paperwork; you just show up and you're good to go...
Wait, so you mean I just schedule an appointment, show up... undergo some kind of exam (do they actually perform one?) get the certificate, and then use that to get my driver's license...?
So, my driver's license expires at the end of this month, and I want to get my medical exam out of the way now so I'm not stuck waiting on the new permit... things are getting a bit urgent, to be honest.
Anyway, I heard that the process moves a lot faster in a big city like Chicago (I'm coming from Zanesville) and specifically at one of those clinics near Union Station...
True or not?
Can someone walk me through the exact procedure? I can't quite remember everything I had to sort out when I first got my license... also, I wear glasses and contacts, so I assume they'll want to test my vision again...?
I’m looking to source a few props for an upcoming photo shoot. I need an inflatable plastic globe and perhaps a small green chalkboard, similar to the ones you'd see in an elementary school classroom. A canvas imitation might work too, provided it captures that specific aesthetic.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find these?
I’ve been browsing through some of the threads on this forum... there are quite a few discussions regarding tinnitus... I guess I fall into that category too...
...I’ve been in an audiometry booth maybe two or three times before (for instance, during those military entrance exams), and my hearing seems fine... everything sounds perfectly clear to me normally...
Personally, I suspect it might be related to my spine—specifically my neck... though, of course, one can never be entirely certain...
...I’ve dealt with this for as long as I can remember... I think it first showed up when I was around 14 or 15, but again, I'm not making any definitive claims... I'm 22 now...
A person doesn't just notice it every single day (except for right now while I'm writing about it 🤣), but I would honestly love to find a way to get rid of it...
I go to concerts and live shows pretty often, so I use earplugs, but that temporary ringing from the noise goes away very quickly... this tinnitus, however, is constant... I've also noticed that when I sit at my computer for long stretches, the pitch of the ringing sometimes shifts—which is why I suspect it might be linked to a nerve in my neck or spine...
Since there apparently isn't a cure for this... I was wondering if acupuncture might actually help?
There isn't even a theoretical chance that CCH will be anywhere near us for the next year or so... and honestly, I'm questioning what happens after that, too... especially since Andy seems to have shifted focus and is clearly busy sorting out his own personal life...
I’ve been using that cleansing foam, and those flakes you could only see through a microscope seem to have vanished...
I also use Cadus sebaceous oil, which is supposed to strip the grease right from the roots...
The lady at the salon told me my hair would definitely feel greasier at first, and she was right—it feels like the oil is just being forced out by the products...
Does that actually make sense, or is this whole thing just a pile of crap...?
Supposedly, I need to stick with it for a month or two...
