I finally landed an appointment at the Vinogradski clinic—scheduled for January 31, 2018. It really got me wondering about the actual records here. What’s the longest anyone has ever had to wait? I’ve heard stories about people waiting up to five years just for orthodontic work; is that actually a realistic record, or just an urban legend?

And honestly, those official waiting lists are COMPLETELY useless—they have absolutely nothing to do with when you’ll actually see a doctor at the hospital.
Does anyone know where else I can find a dermatoscope (or whatever the technical term is again) besides the clinic over at
?
See, this is exactly what I'm talking about:
Does Merkur accept insurance coverage?

So, I just called that info line regarding the waiting lists—you know, the one for scheduling—and the guy tells me they have an opening at Dubrava Hospital in just two days. I went ahead and booked it, so now we’ll just see what the folks over at Dubrava have to say about it.

Well, I just got confirmation that I'm officially scheduled for October. Honestly, I half-expected it wouldn't actually be in two days—those waiting lists of theirs are notoriously unreliable.

But you also have to deal with the reality of a waiting list—which, let's be honest, can get pretty long if you go that route. 🍿

That’s interesting; I had no idea you actually had a say in which doctor you see. Thanks for the heads-up!

You certainly have the right to choose your medical facility, but whether you have the legal standing to demand a specific physician—that’s a different question entirely.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Does anyone know where I can get an eye exam scheduled at the earliest possible date? I was chatting with a few women—not medical staff, just civilians—and they're telling me the wait times at the hospitals in NYC are up to a year.

Is there any way to check online for the soonest available appointment?

As for me, I've got a mole check scheduled for December, yet they're claiming I won't see an ophthalmologist for another year... God bless our socialized healthcare system!

I actually chose an endocrinologist at Rib—Tanja Škorić—who specialized in endocrinology over in Manchester but decided not to stay there, choosing instead to return home to the States. At Vinogradski, they seem to swap out endocrinologists as often as you change a disposable razor, so I’m looking to move on from them. I’ve been seeing them my entire life, and I’m already 43.

You just go to your general practitioner. If you’ve already been seeing a specialist but want to switch to a different hospital, you really need to emphasize that if you want them to issue a valid referral—assuming you aren't already right here in Washington, D.C. Honestly, navigating the paperwork for a referral is such a headache that it’s usually better to just ask for a new referral from the start.

Once you find out which email address handles appointments, you just attach your referral to the email. Include your full name, address, contact info, and specify which doctor you’re hoping to see—that’s pretty much the whole process.

I'm hoping they'll keep taking me at Rib under Dr. Škorić. Otherwise, this is just going to be another case of being caught between a rock and a hard place—moving from one frustration to another, then back again. Regardless, it’s worth a shot.

So, you can actually switch doctors right in the middle of treatment? Great. If only I had known that sooner...

You say it's worth a shot—does anyone actually know if that is a legal right?

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a gastroenterologist who takes Medicare?

Wait—are we actually allowed to choose which doctor we see?

A friend of mine just signed up, but he hasn't received his confirmation email yet.

In this thread

the users point toward this specific link

where you can request the email again—but even after trying that, nothing has arrived.

The thread mentions contacting Boeing, though according to his profile, his last activity was way back in 2015. I actually sent a DM to the thread starter about this issue, but I haven't heard anything back.
