BJJ training tips? in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Hey wanderingridge, where can I actually find decent BJJ techniques online? I've stumbled onto some stuff, but what sites are you actually using, if any??

Is capoeira actually a martial art?

My bad, this is my last off-topic post for a bit... sorry about that!

wanderingridge said:Yeah, true. But BJJ isn't just about levers and chokes—not even close. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
I’d argue nobody actually knows every single technique because the sport is constantly evolving. Every gym has its own flavor. The fundamentals are universal, sure, but mastering everything? Impossible. Look at Eddie Bravo—he’s got his own specific style that you won't see everywhere else (like how he teaches the rubber guard at his academy). One school might be killer at one thing, giving them some secret sauce that nobody else has.
It feels weird to me that someone thinks they can just "get good" in six months.

In BJJ, it’s all about positioning. Most sessions revolve around a few specific moves
that are similar—you launch an attack, if it fails, you transition to the next thing. Then there's the defense side, and yeah, escaping the guard comes up a lot. But honestly, it's mostly just wrestling and grinding. Because let's face it: a fancy technique is useless if you don't have the skills to actually get into the right position to use it.

I'll go with Brock Lesnar, but I haven't really decided who I'm rooting for yet 🙂🙂
I love Mike Tyson since he's an American icon, but Brock Lesnar represents BJJ, so...!!

What exactly did he break? Didn't have time to actually read the whole thing right now!!??
Man, those kinds of injuries can be a total nightmare though.
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Mark Coleman in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
wanderingridge said:I'm sure it works. Werdum didn't show up just for fun. Mirko Cro Cop just needs to tighten up his ground defense. Throw a few strikes here and there and he'll be fine. 😁

Here's the catch, though—you can't defend if you don't know what's hitting you. He really needs to work on those strikes and some submission defense. 🙂
Boxing discussion in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
You’d find it interesting that he’s got a twin brother, Vladimir, who was basically just as much of a heavyweight beast as Vitali Klitschko. He actually walked away from boxing because there wasn't enough room at the top for both of them to be champions—they weren't about to go at each other. So now, Vladimir just stays tucked away in Vitali's corner, acting as part of his team. He’s always right there during his brother's fights. Plus, the guy’s got a doctorate.

They aren't twins, Vladimir is three years younger, or something like that!! And I honestly thought their doctorates were just honorary, especially Vladimir's!!
