Alright ladies, now that the wedding craziness has finally settled down, I can actually sit here and give some credit where it's due. 😁
We ended up ordering our dessert spread from Accenture over in Columbus, and honestly? They were a total knockout...
The only thing is, we made a last-minute call to have them served on actual platters rather than just bringing out the trays, so we did end up shelling out a little extra for the service...
We ended up ordering 65 pounds of dessert for our 130 guests... because once we brought everything home for a taste test, we realized the hotel’s standard package was a joke. They were suggesting basically two slices per person, which just isn't going to cut it. We’re planning to have the full spread sitting out on the table from the very start.
Mostly, we just went with some local bakery favorites like Entenmann's$18/lb. Sure, you can find fancier stuff if you want to blow a hole in your wallet, but honestly, I couldn't care less about being fancy. My grandmother had a big celebration recently and picked up those classic wedding treats of theirs, and it wasn't until we tried them that we realized how good they actually were. They're surprisingly delicious—super soft and moist.
Since we’re doing a buffet-style setup, we'll have plenty of different cakes and creamy pastries on hand, so nobody's going home hungry. And whatever doesn't get eaten? We'll just split it among ourselves at the end.
We ended up going with Absum... the price was unbeatable and the pastries were decent enough. I wouldn't call them life-changing, and we aren't planning on serving them to a crowd or anything—we’ve already got a selection of desserts from the hotel on the menu. These are just fine for what we need, so we were basically just looking for a way to shave a little off the budget. The cake is also coming from the hotel, and honestly, I think that’s the real centerpiece of the whole thing anyway.
I guess things like that just happen once in a blue moon for me
Bringing up an old thread here, but has anyone actually been prescribed Clindamycin lately?? I’m honestly starting to freak out after scrolling through all those side effect lists online...
Luckily, the cake is already bundled into our hotel rate, and honestly, it looks incredible... I’m still on the fence about desserts, though. If I just stick to what the hotel provides, we’ve got $30 pounds of sweetness ready to go. From what I’ve been reading, if other places are offering $23, it might not even be worth the headache of hunting down a specialty bakery just to obsess over dessert menus. The funniest part? Half of my mom’s relatives are amateur bakers who usually whip up all the treats for weddings, but apparently, under these new regulations, you need some official certification now. It’s like they won't let a regular person bake from their own kitchen anymore. I just hope we can somehow find a way to wiggle our way into getting that certificate
Up until I hit 25, my mom used to tag along whenever I had to get blood drawn 🙂 But now that I’m officially an adult, I headed down to the clinic by myself the other day 🙂 🙂 And hey, turns out it wasn't a big deal at all... you just have to be honest with your sister about the fact that you're actually terrified of needles 🙂
I am absolutely losing it because of this AC
Zithromax is way too heavy-duty for this. Honestly, I’m actually relieved my doctor didn't just hand it over without a good reason. A doctor who just scribbles down prescriptions like they're candy isn't much of a doctor at all, if you ask me.
Wait, you're telling me my skin is actually lighter?!
It’s likely just because of how long you have to grind through school, plus there's a massive wave of bureaucracy involved in actually becoming a doctor.
