Drew Torres3 said:The graphics card is staying for now since I'm broke, thanks for the tip. I'll grab that 8320 later. One more thing—will the Katana III be fine with this processor?
Drew Torres3 said:I've got this old Hitachi desktop I'm swapping out for a 120GB SSD and a 2TB external drive that'll just stay plugged in all the time.

What do you guys think of this build;
Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti OC
ASRock s1150 B85M-HDS
Intel Core i5-4570
Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 8GB 1600MHz CL10
I also want recommendations for a quiet cooler, a PSU, and a cheap case—looks don't matter. I'd order from http://www.newegg.com/ since they seem to have the best prices. Thanks for the help.
Drew Torres3 said:Right now I've got a Zalman 450 GS 450W power supply and an Intel Core i3
but I'm thinking about swapping it for an Intel Core i7, so I'm not sure if my current PSU can handle the juice?

Thanks to everyone else who didn't make choosing a side such a nightmare. 🤔

The PC arrives at your door and you pay then. This processor actually has a pretty decent integrated graphics chip; I guess it could even handle some heavier games on Low settings at Full HD. The only real bottleneck is the RAM, since the graphics will have to borrow from the system memory.
If you went with 8GB of RAM (2x4GB), the price would jump up to nearly $800.
Alternatively, $800 you could go with an Intel dual-core paired with a much stronger dedicated graphics card, but if you ever wanted to upgrade later, you’d probably need a new processor too, not just a new GPU.

Here’s the specs:
1. AMD A8-5600K
2. ASUS HD6670
3. ASUS F2A55-M LK2 PLUS
4. RAM 8GB 1333MHz
5. Toshiba 500GB
First off, the mismatched RAM is driving me crazy. One stick is bigger than the other. The larger one is Transcend and says 4GB... 1600MHz, but the smaller Kingston one just says something about Remow and doesn't specify it's 4GB. Now I'm wondering what kind of junk they actually put in this computer—is it any good or not? I heard this AMD processor only has two physical cores and two logical ones, so I want to know if there's a 4-core option that fits my motherboard and actually works for gaming? Also, how much would it cost to grab 8GB of 1600MHz RAM (or faster if my board can handle it) along with a new 4-core processor hitting at least 3.50 GHz?
Timothy Kim60 said:Look, even if you grab an Nvidia GTX 970, it won't top $300...
But honestly, that ASUS 780 Ti is the real deal here. People overhype the Nvidia GTX 970, but the reviews are all over the place. Even Linus Tech Tips showed the ASUS 970 Strix performing somewhere between a GTX 660 and a GTX 780 Ti in certain titles.

The M599X EVO and the 990FXA-UD3 both handle full Crossfire (dual GPUs); that’s basically the only real difference between them.
