Air (2023) in Movies ·
Caught it in the theater. It was great. Honestly, just excellent.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) in Movies ·
Watched it yesterday:
- solid balance of humor, action, and those heavy dramatic beats
- really loved Rocket Raccoon's backstory; easily the most compelling part of the whole movie
- action sequences and VFX held up well
- soundtrack was fantastic, staying true to the quality of the previous films
- Chukwudi Iwuji did a great job playing the villain—he was so repulsive I couldn't wait to see him go, though the High Evolutionary's actual motivation felt a bit thin
- I was expecting a slightly darker conclusion for the trilogy, maybe someone actually dying? But honestly, it didn't bother me too much in the end

All in all, a satisfying way to wrap up the trilogy.

After Hours (1985) in Movies ·
This little flick reminded me of certain scenes from Taxi Driver. There’s some solid dialogue here, and the acting held up well. But honestly, when you stack it up against the rest of Martin Scorsese's filmography? It feels pretty middle-of-the-road, especially considering the absolute masterpieces the man has put out.

Bridge of Spies (2015) - Steven Spielberg in Movies ·
Just watched this for the first time today. Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance are both fantastic in their roles, and the direction holds up well too. It’s definitely a slower burn, but I never found myself bored. Comparing it to other Spielberg films, it’s solid, but probably not something I’ll feel the need to revisit.

Cocaine Bear (2023) in Movies ·
Caught this one today. Overall impression? Just meh. I definitely expected more from this flick:
-the humor was pretty bad
-it’s R-rated, so there’s some explicit violence, but honestly, that’s the only redeeming quality—and even then, there wasn't nearly enough of it
-the characters were poorly written and lacked any real depth
-regret going to the theater for this one. Not worth the price of a ticket; just wait until it hits streaming
-sadly, this turns out to be the last film for Ray Liotta
-runs about 90 minutes, but it dragged in spots. I've sat through longer movies that moved much faster

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (2023) in Movies ·
Caught it in 3-D today.

The good stuff:
- I actually liked how they visualized the quantum realm.
- Jonathan Majors is great as Kang; easily the best villain across all three Ant-Man films.
- For once, the post-credit scenes were actually worth it. No regrets sitting through until the end (especially the second one).
- Action was solid, particularly that final showdown.
- Acting was on point—everyone did their job well.

The rough patches:
- The jokes felt forced. Honestly? Nobody in the theater was laughing.
- Could’ve been a better movie if Kang had more Screen Time.
- It felt a bit unrealistic how Ant-Man managed to beat Kang like that at the end, but whatever.
- They really dropped the ball on MODOK; I expected way more from him.
- Was hoping for a Fantastic Four cameo, so that was a bit of a letdown.
Conclusion:
Overall, a decent flick. To me, it's the darkest and most ambitious Ant-Man film yet. Better than the second one, and maybe even the first, simply because the villain actually works.

Haven't seen anything more pathetic than that!
