Retailer: James Gunn
Screenwriters: James Gunn; Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (comics)
Cast: Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, ...

IMDb link.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) is the third entry in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and acts as a direct sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).

The ending of Avengers: Endgame (2019) Spoiler gave us some hints about where the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 might go. Thor returned to the team we first saw together in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and because of the Time Heist during Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thanos brought his entire army from 2014 all the way to 2023, which included Gamora's and Nebula's daughters (though Nebula was killed later). Quill has been searching for Gamora since Tony's snap. He’s pretty shocked to find out she's back, but she doesn't have any memories of him or their relationship.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should pick up right there. According to news reports, this will be Gunn's final Guardians of the Galaxy film, and potentially Bautista's too, if the rumors are true. I also heard filming starts this year, so we can probably expect some leaked set photos or clips very soon.

ps. what do you guys think of my animation? ♥

Filming for the third installment has officially kicked off. Apparently, Will Poulter is stepping into the role of Adam Warlock.

He still looks like a kid to me, but at least now he could actually play a college student.

I'm honestly not sure what the acceptable spoiler window is for these movies. It’s been two years since Avengers: Endgame, and at this point, the MCU operates more like a series of films. Most MCU fans already knew the entirety of Avengers: Endgame and everything leading up to it by heart the moment the discussion threads opened.

If you haven't figured out yet that Natasha dies, then you're honestly just not paying attention.

Since the main thread for part three has been locked, I suppose I'll just post the new trailer here instead.

Based on the trailer, this looks like it’s going to be a blast.

Honestly, it's getting ridiculous. Lately, every single superhero movie feels identical—you can't even tell them apart anymore. It’s just the same choreography, the same explosions, the same CGI effects, the same tired villains, and the same predictable plots... it's all just a loop.

It’s just like those old Westerns used to be. You watch one, and you feel like you’ve seen them all.

This trailer doesn't really hit the mark. Does it feel like they're just rushing to get this finished? A few monsters, an octopus, more comedy, and then some tragedy at the end? It just lacks that specific vibe from the first film. It feels a bit like the last Thor or Ant-Man.
How did they bring this Gamora back to life?

But the trailer doesn't have that vibe from the first movie. It's giving me late-stage Thor or Ant-Man.
How on earth did they bring this version of Gamora back to life?

That's the Gamora from before she ever teamed up with the Guardians.

It feels like they're just checking boxes to get this thing over the finish line—you know, throw in some monsters, an octopus, crank up the comedy, and top it off with a tragedy at the end. But the trailer just doesn't have that same vibe the first movie had. It's giving me more of a recent Thor or Ant-Man feel.
How did they even bring this Gamora back to life?

They didn't actually bring her back. This is the Gamora from an alternate universe—just watch Endgame if you haven't seen it, or rewatch it if you have. 😁

From what I can see, things are looking quite promising. I’m particularly pleased that they decided to include Gamora's semi-metallic axe in the lineup—it’s a brutal, blood-soaked piece of weaponry.👍

What's up, guys? What's the word?

Solid. Might even be the best one yet. Honestly, it's twice as good as the second film. 👍

Pack some tissues if you're heading to the game. Good luck to anyone dealing with monthly cramps!
