Tapering off steroids in Health ·
Nicole Chavez5 said:Following a recent pituitary surgery, I’ve been put on a corticosteroid regimen—three tablets daily—that looks to be a lifelong commitment.
In the rush to finally get rid of the prolactinoma, I neglected to ask my doctors about the long-term fallout of the procedure itself. Now, I find myself in a frustrating position where hormones that were perfectly balanced before the operation are completely out of whack.
Talking to others who rely on steroids for different conditions, I've learned—and can certainly feel on my own skin—just how much they suppress the immune system, spike blood pressure, and trigger a host of other side effects.
But more than anything, there is the mental toll of managing daily pills. I was someone who never even reached for an aspirin because my health was flawless; now, my entire routine revolves around medication.
Does anyone here know if there are any alternative treatments that could replace this steroid cocktail? Is there actually a way to step off this medication eventually?

Honestly, you should probably move this over to the alternative medicine board. There are tons of people over there who managed to get off those kinds of therapies by using MMS or other alternative methods. You might want to check out the thread on MMS in the alternative treatment subforum too.
Breast lumps and pain: What should I know? in Women's Health ·
I’ve been dealing with this same thing where my right breast just starts stinging out of nowhere—like someone is literally poking me with a needle over and over. It usually drags on for two or three days, and honestly, it's the worst. I can't even wear a bra or a regular t-shirt without feeling irritated, and if anyone even brushes against me, I just want to scream because it's so sensitive. My OB-GYN basically told me not to sweat it, though. They said everything looks fine, just that some of the ducts in that breast are a little clogged or not flowing quite right, but apparently, it's nothing to worry about.

te@ said:You’re talking nonsense. One of those "artichoke" capsules is basically worth like a whole pound of actual artichokes, so just think about that.

Look, I'm not even a huge fan of artichokes myself, so honestly, popping the capsules was way more convenient for me.

So, did those capsules actually do anything for you?? At the end of the day, I don't care if they're fresh or in a pill—I just want to know if they work the same way!!! Besides, if I remember right, artichokes taste pretty terrible anyway...
High cholesterol levels - any advice? in Health ·
Look, I’ve got that same genetic high cholesterol situation going on. I swear, I tried every single diet under the sun—everything from keto to those crazy juice cleanses—and nothing actually moved the needle for me. Nothing worked until my cardiologist finally put me on Sors tablets. That was the only thing that actually did the job.

Man, I ended up dealing with a hellish case of gastritis myself. I tried taking Nexium, but honestly? It didn't do squat. Now they’re telling me to stay far away from fresh fruit or salads—apparently, you aren't supposed to eat anything raw. So now it’s all fruit compotes and stuff like that. Meat is fine, and if you need fruit, bananas are okay. You can have lemonade, but skip the juices and definitely stay away from anything carbonated. And don't even get me started on tomato sauce; unless it's canned peeled tomatoes, just forget it. Bread is alright, though. Honestly, stomach issues can totally be triggered by stress too, so maybe just slow down a bit? Don't go eating heavy meals late at night and you might be fine. Oh, and coffee? Definitely not good for you. Try sipping some peppermint tea instead, and seriously, go get tested for H. pylori. If things don't improve, you should probably look into getting an endoscopy and an ultrasound for your thyroid, plus some blood work for your hormones.

So, I was just scrolling through some health blog on WebMD the other day, and they had this whole piece about dandelion root tea. Apparently, you’re supposed to brew it fresh every single time—don't even think about using those dusty old tea bags sitting in the back of your pantry. It says you should do this little two-week stint, maybe three or four times a year, and make sure you drink it right before you eat.
I’m currently choking down seven different antibiotics every single day just to kill off one stubborn little bacterium, and honestly? I feel like I’m nuking my entire system in the process. It feels like I'm destroying everything good just to win this one tiny war. I remember reading this article—I think it was in the New York Times or some major paper—about how it takes the body a full six months to actually clear out all the antibiotic residue and get back to normal. It went into detail about exactly how that recovery works, but ugh, I can't find the damn thing anywhere now! I've searched everywhere. Does anyone here know of any actual, legit ways to detox the body from all these toxins? I need to start cleaning house before I feel even worse.
Allergic to belt buckles? in Health ·
Honestly, I’ve never bought into that whole colorless lacquer trick. You can try slapping some duct tape over it if you really want, but let’s be real—it doesn't do much and it's a total pain in the neck to deal with. In my experience, the only thing that actually works is just slathering a thick layer of ointment on that patch of skin every single time before I put on my belt buckle or anything else with nickel in it.
