I don't want to jinx it, but Baby is in the final stretch and seems way more chill than before. He knows someone is always right there by his side. Still, he’ll start fussing up (mostly just out of boredom and curiosity) the second I step into another room to get something done. And in those moments, my brain just completely freezes. 😵
Yeah, he’s already loving being part of everything lately, so I’m sure he had a blast. 🙂 Honestly, Hans is completely wiped out right now. He says listening to all the constant bickering just drained him. He took the day off today, but he’s absolutely exhausted...🤣

We actually had a blast. Baby slept through half the movie and spent the rest of the time listening intently to all the other babies crying. A few moms had to step out of the theater constantly with their kids. It wasn't too loud near us; there were two moms with smaller babies in our row, and a kid two rows back cried occasionally, but whenever Baby and him made eye contact, he calmed right down. We already bought tickets for the next one in a month. 🎉

They just started doing this once a month. Last month was the very first time, and the tickets were completely sold out. They aren't going to pitch the lights black either; they'll just dim them, and the volume will be turned down. I'm honestly wondering what happens when half the room starts crying...🍿 Though, I guess you can always step out with the Baby into the theater lobby or find an empty screening room if things get too much.
We're hitting the movie theater tomorrow! 🙂 The theater is totally set up for families with Babies; they've got space for strollers right in the lobby and a dedicated nursing station stocked with everything you need.

Personally, I’d much rather stay home an extra year than deal with the constant headache of taking sick leave for my kid—especially since there's a limit on how many paid days you get per year. Or having to shell out cash for a sitter every time a daycare closes due to some local quarantine. At that point, it costs me just as much as if I had taken a full year of unpaid maternity leave.
To make sure he isn't missing out on socializing, we started going to this local parenting center where moms hang out with their babies. There was this 8-month-old girl in the group who's already crawling so fast she's basically walking from one thing to the next. Well, she crawled right over to Bobby, grabbing at his sleeve and his socks... her mom pulled her back pretty quickly just to be safe... and the little thing just lost it and started wailing. Bobby just stared at her for a second, watching her throw this tantrum, and then he started crying too.🤣 I can see the sparks flying already.😍
At least in Germany, she can pick guys from all over—Asia, Africa, even America... 😒 I had plenty of people like that hitting me up on that site before Hans finally clicked...
Walter Baker2 said:And you used to drive around in cars and trucks too.
Yeah, well, I spent more time playing with guys, including their little cars, trucks, and excavators...
stormygardener93 said:mine were strictly on breast milk and didn't wake up during the night (I guess they learn that in the NICU 🤦), so I wasn't in any rush to start solids; we waited until they were a full six months old. ... I didn't feel pressured because they were sleeping well and always stayed full, so I figured they had their whole lives ahead of them to try food. I just took it easy.
My oldest was a late walker too, but once he finally got going, there was no stopping him.🤣
My little one used to struggle with his "R" sounds early on—it was like his brain was getting mixed up with American and German pronunciations 🤣—but he caught on fast and doesn't have an issue now.🙂
A friend once told me, "Just follow your gut. You know your baby better than anyone, and you'll recognize when they're ready for the next step."
Everyone eventually learns how to eat, sit up, and walk... Every kid moves at their own pace. 🙂 It's awesome how quickly he mastered both English and German! 👍
Get ready for some interesting questions from Joe..😉
Grace Sanders24 said:There’s actually more if I remember right. I recall being just as terrified because stormygardener93 was also a total wreck while she wasn't home. That feels like ages ago—definitely way before my biggest panic attack on this forum, which was when we were all waiting for the Baby to finally arrive. Did I forget? Was it morning?🤔
You slept through most of it... 😛 Labor started around 11 PM and the little guy was born about 12 hours later.
Drew Ross2 said:She’s cruising along the furniture, and when I hold her hands, she’s fine, but she isn't doing it on her own yet 😳 probably very soon 😳
People used to tell me that when I first started walking, I’d be super steady if I just had a clothespin in my hand. If they took the clothespin away, I’d immediately go grabbing onto the furniture. I honestly thought that clothespin was my main support. 😁
Walter Baker2 said:How did he manage to say his R's?
For weeks, he kept saying "br...br...br"... we actually thought he was making car noises, but then it turned out to be "br...o...good."🙂
My advice is to hold off until they hit the 4-month mark, and definitely don't wait past 7 months. Every Baby is different, so you really just have to watch for those signs that they're ready for more than just milk. Though, keep in mind, we're talking about just a few spoonfuls a day at first. There was this stretch where it felt like my little one was nursing every single hour like they couldn't get full enough, so that's when we decided it was time to start solids.
Hey! She’s getting so big already! Is she walking on her own yet?
So, we finally picked up some sweet potatoes. He spent weeks watching us eat everything before we even introduced solids—that was my cue that he was ready. I was eating a banana while nursing him today, and he actually tried to snatch it right out of my hand 🤣
Louise! 👋 Baby is about 5 months old now. And yeah, he’s already starting to get a grip on things.😁
I started him on carrots about two weeks ago, and he seems to love them.👍 We only took a break when his gas was acting up. He tried pumpkin puree for the first time yesterday and did just fine with that too.
How’s your little one doing? How many months is she? 🙂
So, she’s back with the otter... I actually spotted her using some different avatar a few days ago—or maybe it was weeks ago, honestly, I lost track.🤔 Louise, if you're reading this, give me a shout sometime! 👋
