Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·

Just ask if there's anything else you need to know.😉

Hi 🙂
Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
...So, I finally pulled the trigger and scheduled the laparoscopy. My gynecologist says it’s best to just get it out of there. I had my CA 125 levels checked, and they're slightly elevated—it's supposed to be under 35, but I'm sitting at 39.80. I'm a little nervous, 😲 even though they say it's nothing to lose sleep over. Does anyone have advice regarding the laparoscopy itself? I heard it's done under general anesthesia... how long do you usually stay in the hospital, how much sick leave should I take, and what's the best stuff to pack for the hospital stay?

So, I've been dealing with this sleep issue for quite a while now.
I'm 20, and I just can't drift off. I lie there tossing and turning for two hours straight, and nothing works.
It doesn't really matter when I actually hit the sack; I always end up waking up by 8:00 AM at the latest—maybe 8:45 if I'm lucky.

I tried switching sides of the bed because I heard that was supposed to help... worked a couple of times, but then it stopped. No luck since.

Honestly, I'm out of ideas. I thought about looking into sleeping pills, but I feel like it's way too early in my life to be going down that road.

If anyone has any advice on how to actually pass out or what else I should try, let me know.

Later.

Try hitting the sack at the exact same time every night. Maybe grab a glass of warm milk with honey before bed (it actually works), and try reading something light. That should help. Also, make sure your room isn't roasting—you want it to be just right, neither too hot nor too cold.

I went through it myself last year, where they usually just seem to burst right in the middle of my cycle. For instance, I'll go in for an ultrasound at the start of my period and there's a cyst clearly visible, but then by the middle or end of the cycle when I get checked again, it's just completely gone. From what I've gathered, with these specific types, you don't really see any dark discharge or anything unusual like that.

My doctor found two so-called chocolate cysts on my ultrasound. Now she wants to do a 4D ultrasound to be sure, though she did mention the possibility of needing a laparoscopy.
Sailing tips and advice in Other Sports ·
Hey there, fellow sailors;
So, I’m heading out on a sailing trip with my crew next week, and I wanted to pick your brains. For those of you who've actually experienced that—you know, that "once-in-a-lifetime" feeling people always talk about—any tips? What should I pack? How should I dress so I'm actually comfortable out there instead of miserable?

If you've cycled through all those and still aren't seeing results, honestly, just go see a GP. Have them write you a script for a real medicated lotion.
