I swapped my 9800SE for a standard 9800 and just updated the drivers; I didn't touch the memory or core clock speeds at all. I'm guessing one of my pipelines is fried, which would explain the artifacts... but since I'm a total amateur at this stuff, maybe someone smarter here can weigh in with an idea.
If you push your overclocking too far, those little dots (or sometimes lines) start showing up.
Intel Pentium 4 @ (2 GHz) => 2.4 GHz 1 GB DDR400 ATI Radeon 9550 (250 MHz, 200 MHz) => 300 MHz, 250 MHz ASRock K7NFORCE2-RAID I’m wondering if anyone else has worked with a similar setup, and more importantly, whether there's any room left to squeeze out a little more performance.
I had a sudden spark of inspiration yesterday. I decided to take some of that grey automotive carpeting—the kind you find in every single car in America—and line my chassis with it as a custom "carpet." Of course, I also added some ZEX to the mix. Since I have a UV neon strip running inside the case, the fabric catches the light perfectly and looks incredible. As far as airflow goes, I've got everything dialed in perfectly. The front intake fans are pulling air in, my cables are neatly routed and tucked away—nothing bulky like those old wide ATA cables—and both the case exhaust and the PSU are blowing air straight out of the chassis.
I need to track down a thicker, darker straw to use for this part.
Here is the full view http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...sa_88/case.jpg . Honestly, I’m not thrilled with the overall look because the case is obviously just a "box," but that’s exactly why I put so much effort into the internal layout 🙂.
Greetings, My Mashina is finally about 99% complete, so I've uploaded a few shots to show you the progress. I’m hoping the aesthetic holds up; I went through the trouble of hiding all the cables and the tubing to keep things clean. Anyway, take a look and tell me what you think.
Just a heads-up: that logo image is located on the side panel.
I've made quite a few modifications to the chassis, swapped out the CPU cooler for a 90mm Corsair unit featuring UV diodes and three color-changing LEDs—plus I managed to make use of those little tubes :-), picked up a blue 90mm case fan from Best Buy, and used some spray paint to clean up all the cabling. You can expect to see a photo in a couple of days!
