How do I estimate my injury/damage? in Health ·
Physical injury claims and the subsequent benefits tied to them were pretty much phased out somewhere around the turn of the millennium. If you had already secured those benefits before the change, they didn't just strip them away from you. At least, that’s my understanding of how it went down.
Best immunity-boosting drinks? in Health ·
Look, the instructions on the 1 kg bag clearly state you should only be drinking about 7 ounces of Revita three times a day. I know some people might start off knocking back up to five glasses of that size, but honestly, that's overkill. Besides, let's be real: the person trying to sell it to you just wants to drain your wallet. It’s pretty shady when someone prioritizes their profit margins over your actual health and well-being.
Look, dustymarlin10, you actually have a solid, reliable dentist there. But honestly? If you look at how things work around here, it’s pretty obvious that laws and Medicare regulations are treated like suggestions. People in these institutions just follow whatever rules suit them at the moment. It all comes down to the whims of whoever is behind the desk, which is absolutely disastrous. I used to have supplemental insurance because I’m 80% disabled, and even then, my dentist had no problem charging me $35 out of pocket. I don't carry that extra coverage anymore, but I'm still disabled and pulling in a pension that sits just slightly above the poverty line. It's the same old story. $500 And I'm supposed to just step up and help Medicare? Where exactly are we headed here? Based on the examples being thrown around, it’s pretty obvious we aren't even living in the same country anymore... or maybe we aren't.
ruggedscout91, everything you just said is the absolute TRUTH.
Lately, our healthcare system has become so abysmal it’s borderline infuriating. It’s reached this incredibly narrow-minded, inhumane level because it's so tightly tied to the political structure in power. They’re looking to cut costs everywhere, even by stripping resources from vulnerable people who actually need them—like those who require an annual 21-day stay at a medical spa or 15 specific therapy sessions just to maintain a baseline level of health. And if you happen to be a veteran? It’s even harder. It’s as if once you stop contributing to society, you lose all rights to demand anything from it. It’s a disgrace. You can't even get a travel voucher if you're seeking treatment more than 50 or 60 miles away, let alone someone who physically can't make the trip alone and needs an escort. The local Medicare offices are an even worse story. You have these people appointed as commission heads sitting in front of the Medicare office, and they aren't even looking at what the specialist wrote. Instead, they’re just looking for ways to make sure you cost the State as little as possible, even if you're suffering from a severe, incurable disease. Where is the "healthcare" in that? Where is the humanity? Of course, it suits the person who appointed them to save money, even if it means cutting corners where it shouldn't be touched. Since they were placed there based on political lines, they naturally dance to whatever tune their benefactor plays. Where is the care? Where is the personhood? It’s either there or it isn't, but it seems to be disappearing, depending on the environment, the individual's mood, their connections, their political leanings, and so on and so forth. Where is the actual health? There are exceptions, sure, but they are becoming increasingly rare. Politics has crawled into every single corner of our society, even into healthcare. It’s shameful.
Muscle tension - is Normabell any good? in Health ·
Look, Normabel is a legitimate medication, BUT taking it shouldn't be a free-for-all like the way you described, Robert Morris5.
I occasionally pop some Sanval just to knock myself out faster, but I end up feeling like a total zombie until at least 10 or 11 the next morning.
In my opinion, Normabel—and frankly, most of these other drugs—are a necessary evil; sometimes you just can't function without them.
The point is, they mess directly with your brain chemistry; you feel that muscle numbness afterward, and all that other stuff.
It doesn't surprise me that you're feeling like a complete vegetable, so don't go trying those kinds of stunts without a doctor's supervision.
Do doctors actually have a moral code? in Health ·
When we talk about medical ethics, my take is that a huge chunk of doctors just get swallowed up by the general gray area of our society and its overall sense of "morality." There’s really nothing special about them that breaks out of those standard social boundaries.
Of course, I give credit where it's due to those who actually call this behavior out, but even they are part of a society that’s riddled with immorality and dishonesty at every single turn.
Any experience with polyuria? in Health ·
The bottom line is that this happens because you aren’t fully emptying your bladder; there's always some residual fluid left behind.
You really ought to go see a doctor—specifically a urologist. This is a common issue among older folks, but you shouldn't ignore it.
Sure, there are all sorts of herbal teas and remedies out there that act as diuretics, but your first move should always be seeing a specialist, especially if you're on the younger side.
Generally speaking, the standard advice is to aim for about two liters of fluid a day, and water is by far your best bet. Avoid the sugary juices, and definitely stay away from anything carbonated.
