I believe steeleagle2 has skillfully diverted attention from the fact that the Mejdan was shut down quite rudely. Now that he, in his capacity as the head of the Dervish Lodge, is requesting its closure, people are suddenly acting like we need to hold a full-blown debate over it. It’s obvious that certain individuals realize they won't have a place to exert their influence once it's closed. Personally, I stand with the Dervish; this kind of dictatorship simply isn't sustainable.
It’s better to turn off the heat entirely than to let the whole thing get filthy...

Exactly. In Islam, there isn't just one way to pray; there are various types of prayer. The specific ritual performed five times a day is mandatory—the Salat. To ease the burden on women during their menstrual cycle, God provides a grace period where that particular obligation is waived.

Yes. However, it would be quite improper to reject a gift from God; therefore, Muslim women are not required to perform the five daily prayers during their menstrual cycle.

You aren't allowed to pray, you have to isolate yourself, you’re "unclean"... I get that hormones might throw off your energy levels a bit, but does that really mean I'm suddenly incapable or something? It's ridiculous. And then there's Islam, where apparently God forbade women from praying altogether (as if, what, God doesn't even notice a woman is having a period??!!).

In Islam, God didn't "forbid" women from praying; rather, it's viewed as a concession to make things easier for them, sparing them the requirement of prayer during the discomfort of menstruation.
