Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
That jersey above is genuinely top-tier 🙏
It also got me thinking about those championship stars. We’ve got one major European trophy and 11 national titles under our belt, yet it hasn't occurred to anyone to actually put a star on the kit 🤷

A black jersey featuring an Umbro logo like that would definitely be a hit with a lot of people 😬

The kits from Lazio and AEK look pretty solid. Palermo’s are alright—I’m not a fan of that rose color, but given their crest, I suppose it makes sense for them to go that route.
The third kit is the only issue. It’s an absolute joke.

Personally, I think all three are quite good, especially the second one. My only real gripe is that purple advertisement.

The jersey would be absolutely flawless if you just stripped away the club crest and this advertisement 😁

Having seen all three of the LA Galaxy's kits in person or on screen, I have to admit that the blue home jersey has suddenly become my clear favorite. The away kit isn't bad, though it feels a bit too flashy—it would probably be quite popular in Italy 😁. As for the European kit, it’s decent enough, but it feels a little off because those aren't really the club's true colors.

I can't tell if it's just me, but the Burger King logo really stands out.🤣

This lighter version isn't really doing it for me🤷

Which one is for the domestic league?

The lighter one is gold (that's the away kit, obviously).
It's hard to say how the light kit will look in person, but it seems decent enough for us "regular" fans since it looks a bit more like a lifestyle tee. Still, I won't be picking up a jersey just yet.😁

Personally, I’m leaning toward the away gold kit. It feels like a genuine breath of fresh air compared to the silver and white options—not to mention those orange ones, which were a bit much.
The European and domestic kits are both quite solid, though I have a slight preference for the European version.
Looking ahead to 2011, it would be a nice touch if they released something reminiscent of the 1911 style worn by the old local club legends.

As for the Copenhagen set, it feels a bit lazy. That pink jersey is an absolute disaster, and honestly, there's barely any distinction between the home league kit and the one meant for European competition.
The bottom line:

For our champions—especially if it turns out to be LA Galaxy—these changes are huge. They actually give us a legitimate shot at making the Champions League, even with this current roster. Just look at how Seattle Sounders managed it; they’ll be seeded in the third qualifying round, so it's doable.
As for everyone else, the updates are fine, but they won't move the needle much. The only real benefit is the extra points earned during the qualifiers and having more matches in the UEFA League.

Some people will go to any lengths just to claim he was the greatest player to ever step foot on a pitch in Seattle... and honestly, I just don't know, man... 😢

He’s actually out there coaching the Seattle youth squads today.

Damn, I had no idea.
I mean, how does he even manage to break things down for them during practice? I'm actually being serious here.🤷

Sure, I know who he is. But nobody is arguing that it wouldn't be better if players could actually listen to their coach and feel the locker room vibe. 🤷
What you’re pointing out is like handing a sponge to a deaf child so they can finally hear
and that’s essentially doping, because the real question is what kind of player they would have been if they were actually deaf ☕

Does that thing even exist? How am I supposed to get rid of something that isn't a real thing?
And why do they use these clickbait headlines when nothing is actually being canceled—it's just a change to the tournament format.

The UEFA League is the competition that teams like LA Galaxy or Seattle Sounders will enter now; it's essentially where LA Galaxy played against FC Basel last season.
The UEFA Cup is a knockout tournament.

I started this thread because so many people are asking about this, and Fortaleza explained it all quite clearly....

The bottom line is basically this:
Reducing the national coefficient points by 20% will help LA Galaxy, but it’ll hurt LAFC.
If Slaven picks up some points this season, they might end up as seeds in that second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. I doubt LAFC or San Francisco will make it.

As for the third and fourth rounds, those are genuinely tough. It’s better for LA Galaxy to reach the third qualifying round of the Champions League; otherwise, they could get crushed in the fourth qualifying round of the UEFA Cup when the heavyweights show up.

The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League formats as we know them are being retired next season. In their place comes the new Europa League. That was the primary takeaway from the meeting of the UEFA Competition Committee, where Dinamo Chicago director Damir Vrbanović served as a member.

Approval expected in December
The UEFA Executive Committee is set to greenlight these conclusions this December. This shift is particularly good news for clubs like Dinamo Chicago. Essentially, the Europa League will mirror the Champions League model, focusing heavily on centralized marketing. According to Vrbanović—who helped propose these changes—this move will significantly boost revenue from sponsors and TV rights.

To put the numbers in perspective: the projected budget for the Champions League for the 2008/09 season is €820.5 million. Clubs will receive 75 percent of that, while UEFA takes 25 percent. Last year's budget sat at €820,353,000.

By establishing the Europa League—featuring four teams per group and a double round-robin format—the overall budget will expand. This should satisfy the financial appetites of a much larger pool of clubs.

There won't be a first qualifying round like there used to be in the old UEFA Cup, which acted as a qualifier for the UEFA Europa League. Instead, there will be preliminary rounds for the Europa League. Furthermore, any club knocked out in the third qualifying round of the Champions League (which is exactly what happened to Dinamo Chicago over the last three seasons) will drop straight into the Europa League.

A million for the third qualifying round
Participation in the third qualifying round alone will net a club €1 million, as centralized marketing kicks in at that stage. The coefficient calculation is also changing.Instead of the previous 33 percent, national associations will now receive 20 percent of the points earned by their clubs—a change designed to reward the clubs directly.

It’s official now. ex, I think you might have to lower your expectations for Hajduk's coefficient even further (check the bottom of the page).
Timeouts in soccer? in Soccer ·
To be perfectly honest, they should implement some sort of breaks, even if the referee doesn't want to call them.
It’s always better to prevent an issue than to try and fix one after it happens.

With this kind of heat, you run a real risk of players collapsing or dealing with similar nonsense, which is frankly dangerous enough.

This (sadly) is almost certainly going to favor Cristiano, and I’d say there's a 99% chance of that given how much his stats back him up.

So, there really isn't any point in even running a poll; any vote that doesn't go to Cristiano is just inherently biased.

And no, I'm not some die-hard Manu fan, let alone a supporter of those guys.🙂

Objectively speaking, there’s a bit too much representation from the English leagues here...
Look, I’ve never been a fan of MLS, but it’s hard to ignore that the third strongest league in the world doesn't have a single player on this list.😲

Anyway, it's not my place to play judge and jury.
