Alright, found the glitch... I honestly can't believe I messed this up, but yeah, I typed one digit wrong (1)... just unbelievable. It’s fixed now though, and the cash hit my account instantly. Probably gonna blow it all on 🙂 . ps. Just in case anyone was wondering what code to actually use during the deposit, I figured it out. Worked for me.
So, I just got my Visa debit card from Chase today. I headed over to the site to make a deposit, but it’s asking me for
1. Credit/debit card number 2. Credit/debit card holder 3. Valid until (mm/yyyy) 4. Security code (CVC)
I typed everything in exactly how it looks, but I kept getting an error saying the payment couldn't go through... I probably messed something up, so I want to double-check if I'm actually using the right info
1. That's the 16-digit number, split into four groups of four. It's the biggest number on the card. 🙄 2. For this part, I put my first and last name, Matthew Brnic, even though the card says MATTHEW BRNIC in all caps. 3. My card says "valid thru: 07/25," so naturally, I figured that meant July 2025 and entered it that way. 4. For the security code, I used those three digits on the back of the card, right next to my signature. There's another set of four digits there too, but I read somewhere that the CVV is specifically the three-digit one.
Can anyone help me out? Did I screw something up here? 😕🤷
Walter Edwards said:If you’re betting with a $1 stake (probably not just singles), any bookie will do except for DraftKings. Check out BetMGM, BetRivers, FanDuel, Betway, or Bet365. Personally, I lean toward BetRivers, but that’s subjective. They're also throwing out first deposit bonuses right now.
It's a single, actually... or whatever else. There's no shame in playing online 😍☕
I usually head over to FanDuel... it loads faster, and I'm still stuck on dial-up.
It’s been over ten days now and I still haven't heard back from Chase, but maybe it's just because of the weekend. I'm expecting a call tomorrow... anyway, before my card actually arrives and I get ahead of myself, I wanted to ask: which online sportsbook should I sign up for?
I was thinking about using BetMGM, but their site is crawling because I'm stuck on dial-up—ADSL isn't an option for me right now. On the other hand, I gave FanDuel a shot and it seems pretty decent. They have a solid bonus too, so I might just register there. But I want to hear from the people already betting—what are your recommendations?
By the way, I’m planning to drop a deposit of about $30 to $40 right away to get started. I'll probably bet around $1 per play, maybe more depending on what I'm looking at... if there's a good bonus involved, similar to what FanDuel offers.
I'm not looking to blow my whole bankroll at once, so if I put $30 down on BetMGM... I wanted to ask about how these bonuses actually work. I’ve read stuff about having to "roll over" the money, but I don't really get the logic behind it. I know you have to hit a certain amount to actually be able to withdraw anything, but I have no clue what that number actually is.
So, I headed down to Chase today and opened up a foreign currency account, then immediately dropped about $45 into it... since it's all in USD now, it's basically just sitting there.
I wanted to pick your brains on something. Once my actual debit card arrives in about ten days, should I bother registering it through PayPal? From everything I've read on here and other sites, people swear by moving money from the card to PayPal first and then hitting the sportsbook from there. But honestly, most of those threads are at least a year old, so they might be outdated. What’s the current play? Is it better to just load the site directly with the card, or is going through PayPal still the move? 😕
To’s the long and short of it... once you turn an elephant into a mouse, you aren't turning that mouse back into an elephant.
As for MP3s and bitrates, I’m fine with 128kbps. Some people will argue it’s basically mono, but they're wrong—it sits right on the edge, but there's still a stereo field there. Plus, the file size in MB usually matches the song length pretty closely. If a track is about 4 minutes long, you're looking at roughly 4 MB.😛
Larry Kim said:I don't see why anyone thinks this is complicated. I do everything from my couch. I use Chase online banking—if I have cash in my checking account, I just transfer it over to my foreign currency account and send it straight to a sportsbook, poker site, or whatever casino I'm hitting. To set up that foreign currency account at Chase, you just swing by a branch, and they'll have your card ready in a few days. Honestly, the perks of being able to gamble online are too huge to pass up.
I either go through Chase or I still lean on PayPal because some poker sites won't pay out directly to a card. You use it as a middleman, and then you can move money wherever you want—send funds to someone's bank account, deposit into a betting site, or just shop online. It’s basically an online wallet...
Bottom line: who actually wants to spend their life standing in lines? 😁
So, I guess that's how it works... I've been trying to explain it to my old man. I tell him I need to open a foreign currency account at Chase—it's like paying a small fee to get the card issued—and once I load it up via Chase whenever I feel like it, I can spend whatever is sitting in there. He's convinced I'm wrong. He thinks they won't just hand me a card like that. According to him, I need a steady monthly salary before they'll even consider giving me a credit card.🤷
Since I’ve already started rambling about which cards I actually need... I noticed that bwin.com takes PayPal, but there’s a catch. To get everything verified after signing up, you still need a credit card. From what I can tell, they don't accept Maestro, which makes the debit cards my parents have basically useless here.
After all this headache... can someone just give me a straight answer? What is the actual best way to sign up? Like, what's the one reliable method that won't leave me hanging? (P.S. if I hit the jackpot, I'll make sure to reward anyone who actually helps me out. 😍)
Honestly, this all feels way too complicated for me... I’m thinking it might be easier to just grab whatever card is closest to the local betting shop and let my aunt handle the payment, rather than dealing with all this other nonsense. 🤷
Man... if it were actually that simple, everyone would be doing it. 🙂
edit: Since I’m clearly such a total newbie for even asking this... what’s the actual deal with the difference between a Maestro and a Mastercard? Doesn't Mastercard issue both? Why can't I use the Maestro one for online payments?

Don't go making bets when you're still that young.

I'm not 13, I'm 21... currently unemployed and a student, which is why I don't have a card. My parents aren't working either, so they don't have any of these "popular" ones... I read somewhere that using an MB account is best for people in my spot because it pays out via a foreign currency account and then deposits... hmm, I actually can't remember the exact process for that part.
Is there any way to sign up and start betting on bwin if I don't have the standard cards like a Mastercard or a Visa? I see they accept PayPal, but my parents' card—which I think is just a Maestro from their local credit union—isn't being accepted by my Bank of America account.
If I recall correctly, there’s usually a way to make deposits into a Bank of America account through a bank transfer or at a post office, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could walk me through how that works... hopefully there are some regular online bettors here who can point me in the right direction.
