placidfalcon4 said:light 😬, any chance you could whip up that PSV kit but with a Hajduk twist? 😁 Think white jersey, the Hajduk crest, and those vertical checkers.
I’m dying to see how those red squares look against all that white. Personally? I think it would look badass. 😍😁
EDIT: Actually, I'm digging the Athletic away kit. 🙏 Boffin is definitely grabbing that one. ☕ It's clean—doesn't look like some flashy superstar jersey. 😁
Hajduk had a jersey back in the 90s with the checkerboard pattern on the collar and sleeve cuffs, sponsored by a local bank in Split. In my opinion, it was easily their best kit ever; everything just worked perfectly, including the sponsor. 👍 Post a photo if anyone actually has one or knows where to find it.
EDIT: This is the best I could find.
p.s. I wasn't really trying hard here—it's hot out and I'm feeling a bit nauseous from the heat. 🤷
Honestly, that checkerboard pattern never looked right on a Lakers jersey, and besides, they only forced it on us back in the nineties because some brat insisted on it. It just doesn't vibe with our colors.
I’ve actually been mourning its absence for years, which is quite the opposite 🤣 even if it's just a thin red and white stripe 🙏
I generally miss those color combinations; this gray-black-blue palette isn't it 🤷 and I have no idea what the deal is with the away kits. It used to always be white, so why are we doing gold, orange... God knows what's next 🤷 although I think a nice silver (like the Real Madrid kit from '99, but without all the tacky bits) would look great 😍
This St. Paul's club is genuinely good—we've already discussed that—but honestly, cheers to that. 🙏
I happened to stumble upon an online forum dedicated to jerseys (quite by accident 😁) where they were debating the specific shade of blue used by their national team... Initially, some guys were mocking a certain jersey and training kit set because it looked too much like the LA Lakers colors 😁 Then, one self-important regular tried to shut down the debate by claiming blue is actually an "ancient traditional color" for them, and that was that 🤣 Some things are just priceless... though it’s clear even they can't help but keep a close eye on everything happening over here on the Mississippi River 😁

Is it meant to be some kind of leaf, or perhaps an African tribal elder yawning, or what on earth is this supposed to represent? 🤷 Good grief, what an eyesore of a jersey 🤦
🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Muscles. 🤷 Just thinking back to that tacky blue Juventus goalkeeper kit they wore during the final against Milan. It’s clear they play dirty; Italians will do anything to win.
I had a similar experience with the Dutch kit; they messed up the light blue away game version later on, but still... those classic orange ones were top-tier, probably because that specific shade was just so unique and unexpected.
The Texas Rangers kits don't really do it for me. I prefer their current look, provided they stop adding those weird "built-in" patterns. The red accents actually work quite well; they tie everything together.
Generally speaking, modern retro kits feel like a cheap excuse for a lack of creativity. It’s just playing on nostalgia—relying on the "glory days" sentimentality. 🙄 If there's an anniversary coming up, they just churn out a carbon copy. It feels hollow, like someone just handed you a plain blue t-shirt... 🤷
Don't take it personally.
EDIT: Franjo, haha I used to think the sash on his successors looked a bit off, but looking at it now, he looks more like some Colombian dictator.😁
Hey placidfalcon4, you’ve been quiet on the spam thread lately. You’re looking to go retro now? Just a heads-up: don't go too far back—maybe the '90s at most, if only for your own sake. 😛
On a more serious note, what happened with the Spaniards? Weren't they supposed to have that blue away kit with the red, yellow, and red Adidas stripes on the sleeves? 🤷 I always thought that one looked great. 😢
I actually like the idea of using that red space for the number; the red definitely gives the jersey more impact, but: 1) those blue numbers look terrible and are way too thick (white would have worked better) 2) there's just too much going on with that pattern within a pattern🙄
placidfalcon4 said:Wondering how many teams actually rock a white jersey paired with blue shorts—like the Kansas City Chiefs do. Which ones are we talking about?
Anyone know if there's a site or some kind of list I can just skim through real quick?
Got a bet riding on this, so if anyone knows... 😁
Thanks.. 🙂
No one else does. Hajduk is the first and only in the world at this, just like everything else.😛 😛 😛
And Inter changes their crest because they're trying to act like Dinamo Chicago.😛
Are we good now? 😁
The new Argentine away kit is mediocre, even if it feels somewhat old-school... though I do like their primary kit, especially those long sleeves. They look great after that whole mess with the collar during the last World Cup.🙄
EDIT: Just realized 🤣 When I wrote "WC," I meant World Cup, but it works out fine regardless.🤣
The Mexican jersey works well enough for their market; it has a certain "knightly" aesthetic that suits their crest perfectly. It’s easily their best design yet. If they had just put 1389 on the collar, it would have been the absolute end of them.😁
You might be overthinking things a bit, but hey, that’s your take on it, I guess; I don't really see it that way myself.
He isn't overthinking anything. It's a fact that St. Pauli carries a specific reputation—it represents a certain neighborhood, a certain culture, and a specific fan base. I respect them for their loyalty and everything they stand for, but what happens with Dresden or similar places doesn't really affect my view... It's a club with its own distinct identity, and you have to respect that.
The St. Pauli kit is excellent 🙏 But Los Angeles was a letdown; they look more like t-shirts than actual jerseys, even though their color palettes have always been top-tier... 😢 Boca also leaned a bit too heavily into those Swedish shipping themes for their anniversary and all that... 🤷
The White Coast is killing it with both home and away kits 🙏
Hajduk played their very first match wearing red and white vertical stripes—basically a nod to the colors on the American flag. Back then, the local authorities in town didn't want any displays of local pride, so they wouldn't let the new club use the traditional tricolor colors. Since the tricolor was off the table, they went with red (for the US) and blue (for the ocean) and just slapped "Hajduk" on there in white letters.
Since then, white has pretty much taken over the look. The main kit is usually a white jersey paired with blue shorts and blue socks, which is meant to look like a white sail on the blue sea. White became such a huge part of their identity that everyone calls the team the 'Whites.' Their away kit is typically red and blue with vertical or horizontal stripes (sometimes thin, sometimes thick), blue shorts, and blue socks, pulling from those patriotic colors. There was actually this one nautical version with horizontal white and blue stripes mentioned for the home kit once, but the goalkeeper Pletikosa only wore it twice!
Choosing a third kit was always a total headache. Before UEFA made registering a third kit mandatory, they didn't even bother having one. One idea was going back to that white and red striped jersey from the very first game. But, because that pattern looked way too much like the kits worn by other teams like Red Star Mexico City—who had some pretty bad vibes attached to them—they decided against it.
koji glupost i kompleks! I mean, seriously? If that was Hajduk's original jersey, why can't they bring it back? Since when does Red Star own a specific stripe pattern exclusively? That's ridiculous!
Look at Atletico Madrid, Sunderland, Olympiacos, PSV, Bilbao, stoka...
It's pure stupidity. Even Partizan's away kit is red and blue, and early on, that was their primary look—they even wore white jerseys with red and blue stripes for a while back in the old days. They even ditched the white away kits for certain teams because they looked too much like the Chiefs, and since the whole league leans toward blue and white, they felt forced to change things up. It's ridiculous. 🙂
By the way, the forum is acting up; I can't see the photos of the new jerseys. 😢

Griffin, an endless fountain of pseudo-constructivism, rather than once again proving your obvious biases and penchant for mental gymnastics, try doing some actual research. ☕

I've happily reported your post. ☕ By the way, which game?
casualpuma71 said:The way I remember it—and I'm fairly certain about this—is that maybe two, three, or four years back, they actually did trial a star for that 1967 win. 😕
It was just a brief thing, but I know the conversation happened...
The only time it appeared was as a joke by the association; they put a silver star above the Dinamo crest with "Dinamo 1967" printed underneath.😁
Inter's white kit is excellent 🙏 But clearly, there's an inflation of absolute garbage kits in the football world this season... With the new Dinamo kit coming soon, you could cut the tension in the air with a knife 😁
I find these debates largely pointless. To FC Barcelona fans, everything favors Real Madrid, and to Real Madrid supporters, any refereeing decision they dislike is seen as a gift to FC Barcelona—and that logic applies to everyone else, too. You attempt to frame this as an objective discussion, yet if anyone takes the "opposing" side, they’re labeled "objective," while those who don't are simply dismissed as haters. 🙄
Jessica Rogers2 said:Where can I go to order a goalkeeper jersey from Juventus—specifically from the 08/09 or 09/10 season if they even have any left? Any idea what the damage would be for shipping to a place like Phoenix? By the way, it’s not even for me.
It’s likely available 🤷 If it isn't out yet, it certainly will be soon. Back when Lotto handled their kits, you could just pick them up at a shop on Masaryk in Chicago; now, you'll just have to wait for them to hit the retail shelves and see if luck is on your side...
