In my system tray, two icons have appeared; the one looking like a monitor keeps spinning indefinitely without establishing a connection. Underneath the first icon (the small monitor), it displays: WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTION: (Router Brand Name) SPEED: 54 Mbps SIGNAL: excellent STATUS: Acquiring network address
Under the second icon, it says: SSID: (Router Brand Name) SPEED: 54 Mbps SIGNAL: excellent STATUS: authenticating ADDRESS: 0.0.0.0.
Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

p.s. Did you mention to your brother that he should try optimizing the laptop a bit? He could clear out all those random programs he doesn't actually use, or maybe disable Aero and those other visual effects in Windows 7 that just eat up memory. Also, tell him to uninstall Avast and grab Microsoft Security instead—it's a much lighter antivirus option.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I could easily handle the installation for him, but there is one major hurdle. He hasn't backed up any of his drivers—no network, graphics, or audio drivers. Plus, from what I understand, Microsoft ended official support for Windows XP quite a while ago, which might make finding compatible software difficult. He uses his computer strictly for sending and receiving emails, printing documents, and occasionally using Word to keep track of guest records. That's it. About a year ago, a neighbor installed Windows 7 and Norton on it. Since then, my brother has been complaining that everything runs incredibly slowly. When I visited him to check things out, I noticed the following: 1 - Booting up Windows takes an eternity. 2 - Once Windows finally loads and I launch the Chrome browser, the antivirus (Norton) icon just spins endlessly in the systray; it takes nearly two minutes before the browser actually opens. 3 - After the browser finally opens and I try to check email (Hotmail), Norton starts spinning again, making the loading process feel endless. 4 - Once the email is open and I click print, there is another 2-3 minute delay before the print window even appears. 5 - Launching Word also takes forever. As a layman, I assume the reasons are: 1- The memory is too low for Windows 7. 2- The Norton protection settings are too heavy for this machine. Am I correct, or is there another underlying cause?
I am looking for a program that can automatically grab all YouTube URLs directly from my clipboard. Ideally, the moment I copy a link while browsing YouTube, it should instantly add it to a download queue. Doing this manually via copy and paste is incredibly tedious. I have already tested several options: Youtube downloader hd, free youtube downloader, freemake video converter among others, but none of them offer this specific automation. Does anyone know of a tool that actually does this?
