Late puberty: Any advice? in Health ·
Is that really it?

Do you honestly believe hormonal fluctuations could be responsible for all of this? It’s exhausting being such a Larry Walker24 at twenty-three.
Late puberty: Any advice? in Health ·
I am 23 years old and experiencing an excessive number of "puberty symptoms." Is it possible that something went wrong and this developmental phase simply never concluded?

Everything "down there" functions fine regarding size and performance, with the exception of a minor issue known as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frenulum_breve

Regarding body hair, the distribution is incredibly uneven. It is very dense in my armpits and pubic region, yet quite sparse on my arms and legs—I know women with more hair on their arms than I do. Beyond being unpleasant, it is a blow to my sense of masculinity. My beard grows decently along the jawline, under my lip, and on my neck, but is nonexistent on my cheeks. In that regard, I look like a typical 13-year-old, which is infuriating. Furthermore, there is nothing on my chest.

My face also retains a teenage quality, specifically regarding oiliness and acne. That was a "trend" back in high school, but now it is merely irritating. My bone structure isn't particularly strong either; I reached a decent 5'11", but my physique consists of "chicken breasts" and weak muscle mass. I cannot lift anything heavy.

While I should be a fully formed man at this age, I still feel like a child. I can't even walk into a store and buy a beer without showing ID. Mentally, I am also incredibly immature for my age.

Aside from what is written on my birth certificate, I possess virtually no traits that prove I am 23. Based on everything, I am a typical 16-year-old.

Perhaps this

or potentially this

are the most relevant topics I have found. There aren't many people dealing with these issues because the internet offers very few answers.

Let's talk perfectionism: General discussion in Psychology ·
I have this idealized version of myself living in my head. It feels great when I indulge in the fantasy, but once I actually sit down and try to be realistic, I realize I’m nowhere near that person. Right now, I’m just some average guy—completely unremarkable in everything I do—and I feel stuck. There's no way out. Honestly, the realization is infuriating. I want constant growth. I want to reach a level where I’m self-sufficient, charismatic, interesting, attractive, and spontaneous. But instead of making progress, I just feel stagnant.

I’m trapped in mediocrity while craving perfection, both physically and personality-wise. Every time I see how minimal effort goes toward a slight improvement in physique after all that gym grind and sacrifice, my motivation just evaporates. Maybe I'm just envious of those naturally stunning people who don't have to lift a finger to look incredible. It seems like that physical advantage carries over into their personalities, too—they end up being those perfectly poised, spontaneous, fun individuals. I get the cliché about "accepting yourself as you are" and working on what can be fixed, but that isn't enough. Being "fine" won't get me anywhere near the standard I'm aiming for: being the kind of man who is genuinely desired in social circles, in the dating world, at work, and in everyday life.

How do I wake up from this?
Shin splints pain in Health ·
To be brief.

For the last few years (I am 21), I have experienced significant pain in my shins during almost any evening physical activity. I wear orthotics for flat feet. The most intense pain comes from simple jogging—whether on pavement or trails—but sports trigger it as well. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this issue?

Thanks,
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Greetings. I am looking for a dermatologist in Washington, D.C., preferably one who accepts Medicare rather than private practice, as my budget is somewhat limited. Please post your recommendations here or send me a private message if you know of anyone competent. Thank you.
Can you catch something from your cat? in Health ·
I appreciate the help, redeagle96. I tried searching online myself but came up empty. Based on what I've read, it sounds like cat scratch fever, toxocariasis, or toxoplasmosis—though I doubt it's the latter two since I haven't had any contact with cat feces. Still, one can never be too certain. The only reason I haven't seen a doctor yet is because I suspect this is just a standard common cold unrelated to the cat. I simply wanted to check here to see if anyone else was experiencing similar symptoms... and they are.
Can you catch something from your cat? in Health ·
Greetings, I am seeking some advice. My cat recently fell ill and passed away shortly after. The symptoms included severe ocular and nasal issues, extreme lethargy, and a complete inability to eat—essentially the feline equivalent of a severe flu. This cat sneezed directly into my face two or three times, and over the last few days, I have begun feeling unwell myself. I am experiencing a thick buildup in my throat that makes swallowing difficult and triggers intense coughing. Additionally, I have felt incredibly weak lately. While I can usually manage minor ailments with a heavy dose of Vitamin C, I am concerned that this might be something more serious contracted from the animal. I would appreciate any insight into what this might be. 🤷
