Cystoscopy can be done under general anesthesia too. They usually save that for younger patients or cases where things have already progressed significantly—sometimes you even end up being admitted to the hospital. For the most part, though, just ask your doctors. They’ll probably suggest local anesthesia, but honestly, don't hold your breath. Even my dentist refuses to give me local when he's pulling a tooth; I’d actually prefer to just be knocked out completely. That's just how some doctors operate.

Yeah, you can have a colposcopy done under local or general anesthesia.🙂
It’s a cystoscopy. They use an optical scope to go through the urethra and into the bladder to check for any abnormalities. I assume they'll do it under anesthesia, though I guess it isn't always guaranteed.
They told me I had a heart murmur about five years ago. I drove straight to the Mayo Clinic to get a second opinion, and they told me the hospital had botched the initial diagnosis—I was fine. Now, suddenly, I’m back to hearing the same story. It's hard to know who to trust when the experts can't stay on the same page.🙂
Honestly, I have a habit of inventing some new ailment for every little discomfort. I’ve actually sat there with a massive mental list of symptoms, convinced I was dying... then I just snap out of it, realize what an idiot I'm being, and suddenly everything feels fine again.
