I don't know, maybe I'm just overthinking it. It feels like everyone is talking about this at once, which is always a bit much for me. I guess we'll see how it plays out, but honestly, I'm not holding my breath. Just one of those things, I suppose. kaže:
That’s just some Jungian synchronicity stuff, I guess.

I’ve been reading up on this whole synchronicity thing lately. Honestly, I kind of feel like it’s all just tied to how we manifest what we want. Like, maybe our thoughts are actually as real as, I don't know, our own hands or something. I guess.

Well then—if that's the case, why can't we just move stuff with our minds?

neongardener2 said:Even before I heard about manifestation or watched that documentary 'The Secret,' weird coincidences were already popping up—like, my wishes or even my fears would just... happen.

It means I believe in it, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean what some people say, like you can just sit on your couch and wait for things to happen...
Most of the time, stuff just manifests after I've thought about it or wanted it without actually trying or obsessing over making it real. Like, a totally random thing: I was driving for maybe an hour and just happened to think of a song—literally a minute later, there it was on the radio. Then I thought of another one, and boom, that one came on too. I don't know, maybe it sounds silly, but I don't think it’s just luck🤷. Or like, I remember thinking about an old TV show that hadn't been on in years, and then the very next day, it's back on the screen😬
.
Or, for instance, I’d find myself worrying about a specific situation happening—basically playing out the whole scene and the exact words someone would say in my head🙂—and wouldn't you know it, it played out exactly like that, down to the identical words I imagined🙄.

So, am I crazy? Or maybe I'm just psychic, I guess😛.

Clearly, wishes come true when you visualize them or want them effortlessly, without all that intense mental clutching—like, I need this, I want this, period...... I feel like when we want something way too badly, it won't happen because we're gripping it too tight🤷.
Just stay chill, think it, and let it go...

Anyway, that's just what I've experienced.🙂

that's just Jungian synchronicity

Honestly, I’m a big believer in desire itself—you actually have to want something deep down for it to happen—but you can’t just sit on the couch wishing for it. Desire isn't just a feeling; it comes with the grind, the sacrifices, and sometimes even the struggle required to hit those goals you've set. Personally, I’ve got one major life goal I haven't knocked out yet, and while I won't get hung up on the "how" or the specific path, I'm going after it with everything I've got. Even if I don't have all the cards in my hand right now, desire usually brings a little hope along for the ride. 😁
That said, desire can move mountains, but you've gotta aim for things that actually exist within the realm of reality—or at least something slightly more grounded than pure fantasy. Don't go chasing ghosts. Be realistic and objective when you're setting your sights on what you want. 👍

Sure, but if your big plan is to just lounge around waiting for a pile of cash to fall from the sky, or for some billionaire playboy to knock on your door and fall madly in love with you instantly... then I guess it's fine to just stay in bed, right? 🤷

There’s this classic kid's book about wish fulfillment—it's basically a dream scenario where everything goes your way—but the catch is how you phrase the wish. You can't just wish to be "somewhere else." You actually have to know where you're going. 😉 😁

I just had this mental image of med students at the morgue asking the "patient," "Excuse me, sir, if you don't mind, we'd just like to..." 😁

feralcobra92 said:Michael Diaz4, thanks for the advice, but I have absolutely no interest in sucking anyone dry just to feel better, because honestly, I’d just end up feeling sorry for myself. Once I start getting that bitter and nasty, I realize how pathetic that whole situation actually is (and I bet you feel it too, even if you're too much of a man to admit it), so there's really no point in going down that road.
I'm not out here hunting for unconditional love or total devotion either; a perfectly normal, professional relationship would be more than enough for me.
I just can't stand living this way, constantly dragging work drama home with me. When my kids try to tell me about their day at school, I find myself tuning them out and thinking, "Oh, give me a break, now they're gonna blame me for this or that too." Look, I know I might be part of the problem because I tend to be a bit too soft and struggle with my self-confidence sometimes, but this is just the reality of it. So, how do you all deal with all the absolute nonsense at your jobs?

Same as you—I overthink everything and give way too much weight to things🙄
In my rather long career, I’ve dealt with something pretty similar to what you’re describing. Because of something that had absolutely nothing to do with my job—strictly my private life—people at work started gossiping, then straight-up slandering me, even accusing me of doing something illegal. Looking back now, it seems ridiculous. But back then? It sucked. Just thinking about how I went through all that because someone was jealous—because I had something they didn't and they viewed it as the ultimate prize—it's wild. I used to think people acting out of pure envy like that was just stuff from those cheap daytime soap operas.😁
At one point, I honestly thought it was over... everything... that I'd lose my job or end up getting into a physical fight with someone.😁 Then I remembered my philosophy—that karma eventually catches up with everyone, and that living in this constant state of tension is garbage for my health and my family. I figured things would just work themselves out eventually...
Do I even need to mention that a few months later, the whole situation flipped completely—and obviously, in my favor? The person who worked so hard to stab me in the back ended up falling right into the hole they dug for me—and thanks to some sort of cosmic intervention, they got buried under a mountain of dirt. Not that I'm exactly celebrating,😁 but man, I am incredibly relieved that everything blew up in their face without me even lifting a finger.
Honestly, I never intended to share this story on a forum, but you really poked the bear, so here we are.😁

feralcobra92 said:I really hope you're right about this! A colleague who’s been at the company for ten years told me straight up that my only real mistake was being the new kid on the block.
Honestly, working at this government agency is such a trip because the bosses just couldn't care less about anything; they don't lift a finger to intervene even when things are going sideways. Most of the people I've had to deal with have been there for over thirty years, so they're totally set in their ways. I'm not even angry, I'm just genuinely heartbroken about it all. I used to show up to work every morning with such a huge smile on my face, but now? Now I honestly wish I could just close my eyes and never have to face this reality again. I actually tried to sit down and have a heart-to-heart with the person who makes my life a total nightmare, but she completely shut me out; she just stays stuck in her own little world and treats everything I say like a blatant lie. It's like I'm speaking a foreign language to her! If things don't turn around soon, I'm definitely going to start looking for a new job elsewhere. What a complete mess.

well—if that's the case—I guess eventually someone even greener will show up and suddenly all your problems will just evaporate.

feralcobra92 said:They aren't going to get me in trouble with their manager because their boss is actually a close friend of mine, and she’s firmly of the opinion that intervening would only cause unnecessary drama for both of us! Plus, my own supervisor only swings by the office once every couple of months and honestly couldn't care less about what happens here. That said, if things really kick off and escalate, I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out.
The thing is, there’s hardly any actual specialized talent at my company, so the support staff basically runs the whole show—especially those veterans who have been there since the dawn of time.

maybe that's the catch right there 🤷
it's probably just the resentment—you got in through a connection, plus you're pulling in way more cash for doing less work. 🤷
jealous people always assume everyone else has it easy and lives some perfect, charmed life.

Why does my mouth taste weird, why am I sore in places I shouldn't be, and whose clothes am I wearing? Whose laptop is this that I'm even typing on right now?"

Today is officially International Skip-Your-Therapy Day. Just toss your pills in the trash, get off the forums, leave your rooms, put down the tablets, and forget about all those messy affairs, toxic exes, current partners, or future flings. Forget the depression, the melancholy, and all those various little existential crises. Honestly, I guess there isn't much that a shot of vodka can't fix. Just pull yourselves together and get outside. I want Washington, D.C. to be absolutely teeming with crazies today—I want to be genuinely terrified every time I step onto a subway car...

Did anyone else catch that movie Beauty Shop on ABC just now? 😲Man, those girls were—I don't know—just really easy on the eyes. 😍
(Not even joking, they were actually stunning!)

What was up with those skinny jeans, though?

Dennis James10 said:Yes, yes, and yes!!! All credit goes to the staff at Mustang!!! 👍 😍 They are consistently helpful, communicative, and they ALWAYS manage to find me something. It isn't just about the visual presentation, if you catch my drift, because they frequently pull items straight from the stockroom for me (not everything is out on the floor). 👍 Whenever I lose all hope of finding decent, youthful, and sufficiently deep-cut women's trousers, I head straight to Mustang. Granted, I always shell out quite a bit of cash for the pants; I tend to need more sizes, but it is absolutely worth the investment. At least until our consumer culture realizes they could start importing more inventory in sizes L and up. 🙄 ☕

That’s never going to happen—because if they actually did, we wouldn't have anything left to be miserable about. 😁

As for Mustang at the mall—honestly, props to them too. 🙏
Same goes for the Mustang over by Grand Central; I always grab my jeans there and somehow always find exactly what I'm looking for. 👍
Food Cravings in Health ·
I’ve always found this whole "compensation" theory a little shaky 🙄
maybe I’m just being stubborn 😁 but it always seems to boil down to a physical issue. Take Oprah—you mentioned her—I caught that segment where she was talking about her weight, and one minute she’s rambling about how people overeat because they're lacking something emotional, and then the next, she's pivoting to thyroid issues.
Look, it’s probably a mix of both—mental and physical—but there's *always* a physical component involved.
Food Cravings in Health ·
Honestly, I feel like I only actually start giving a damn about what I eat when everything else in my life is perfectly sorted 🤷
Maybe I just have an allergy to being organized? 🤣
Food Cravings in Health ·
Maybe we're just bored 🤷
but—if I actually knew the reason—I’d probably be halfway there by now, wouldn't I?
Food Cravings in Health ·
hm... why didn't I try controlling things from the opposite angle? 🤔 at least I'd be skinny 😉
Food Cravings in Health ·
Before I dig in, I’m convinced the food in front of me is absolute perfection—like, why wouldn't I indulge when it's this good? But once I'm done... suddenly being skinny is the only thing that matters in the world. 😁
Low blood pressure, slow heart rate, the shakes... thyroid issues?

As far as booze goes, red wine is 👍 basically a lifesaver
for people with low blood pressure.
