...round two
First topic is a sloppy, rushed one, and it'll probably be closed just as fast
The Academy has released its list of the 10 most influential Sci-Fi films, laid out chronologically:
A Trip to the Moon - Georges Méliès
Metropolis - Fritz Lang
2001: A Space Odyssey - Stanley Kubrick
Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Steven Spielberg
Star Wars - George Lucas
Star Trek: The Motion Picture - Robert Wise
Alien - Ridley Scott
Blade Runner - Ridley Scott
E.T. - Steven Spielberg
The Matrix - The Wachowskis
Three directors jump out as the heavy hitters on this list, so I'm asking you all... who do you think is the GOAT?
For me, it's Ridley Scott

I still remember that one episode where he tried to prove his strength by ripping a massive phone book right in half!
Personally, I thought debeo BU was the absolute strongest. While Cell and Freeza were definitely intense villains, BU was king.
That phone book was from the town they later called "Satan City" since he saved them from Cell... 😁
And honestly, he's so cracked that Majin Buu basically just became his buddy to avoid a fight... 😁

Vegeta used to sit at the top of the food chain, but eventually, Goku caught up to him.
Yeah, yeah, everyone’s obsessed with this whole Goku vs. Vegeta drama, but there’s one guy who could actually take them both out for breakfast... just one hit and they're toast. He's the real deal, the man of few words but large fists...

Part 1
If the second one was trimmed down by maybe 20 or 30 minutes, it actually would've been decent... felt a bit dragged out in places. Honestly, there were moments where it felt like I was just watching a damn hummingbird dance to Daft Punk
I wasn't even feeling the first one on my first watch, though. It took a second viewing for it to click... so maybe it's just me🤔
I always get jumped on whenever I call out a bad movie, but here we go:
Gosford Park
Honestly, this was the most tedious movie I’ve ever sat through. It drags on for two hours... you spend the first hour trying to remember who everyone is, then the second hour figuring out who belongs to whom—who's the daughter, the son, the father, the mistress... then in the last ten minutes, some murder happens and that's supposedly all the excitement you get. Yet critics absolutely loved it. Why?
Because Altman directed it? So what?
Sure, it shows off the hierarchy between the upper class and their servants; personally, I think "You Rang, M'Lord?" does that way better.
To be fair, the cast is top-tier, especially when you consider just how many heavy hitters are actually in it.
