Look, I’m not really a fan of domestic movies. Honestly, I’ve probably seen maybe ten films from our entire Hollywood scene. Since Singin' in the Rain and The Midnight Express don't exactly fit this vibe, I’ll go with Grandpa and Grandma are Splitting Up . Truth be told, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but for some reason, I never deleted it from my hard drive. In fact, I could watch it over and over without getting bored. I dig how they handle family drama—it's stuff we all deal with here in the States. I’ll try to check out those "best" movies you guys mentioned just so I can give a more objective take. What Ivy filmed on October 21, 2003 didn't really click with me, even though an old acquaintance of mine is in it; honestly, I didn't even get it. The Shining is heavy horror for me, and yeah, it captures the gritty reality of life, but I agree with what the older generation says: we should be embarrassed by this stuff instead of making movies about it and bragging about them to everyone. Finally, That Beautiful Night in Miami was pretty decent, though it could’ve been better. Nives Ivanković’s role didn't sit right with me. I respect her as an artist, but alongside Ena Begović (RIP), I still think she's our best actress. I feel like people take roles like that early in their careers when they don't have much leverage, not once they've already built up a reputation and critical acclaim. Also, Third Woman isn't a bad effort, let's be real, but it could have been handled way better. Mostly, what's missing from these movies is life, color, and actual atmosphere. Everything feels flat, the characters are static and predictable, and it's just constant depression and negativity. I think it should be the exact opposite.
