It's bigger, sure, but you get way fewer people at shows there than you do in Washington, D.C. 😉. This was clearly an outlier. And Christian Death didn't actually play 😠 because they 😠 canceled 😠 this leg 😠 of the 😠 tour 😠 over a month ago.

I know they've swapped members before, but this feels worse than if Black Francis had somehow gathered a new Pixies lineup without any of the original members... we all know he wrote those songs just like Nicholas did in OPO, but imagine if someone else was singing "Gigantic" instead of Kim Deal.🤷 The situation here is even tougher because Dragana's vocals were basically the band's trademark and... I don't know, I didn't feel like heading down to The Fillmore for their show, even though some people say it wasn't actually that tragic...
That last show at The Fillmore featured a singer who didn't stay with the band for very long 😁. As far as I can tell, the current one is the third since then, and she seems better than the previous ones, at least on the recordings. But I have to agree, Dragana is irreplaceable. 😢
I didn't really feel like translating this one 😉 Basically, word is the organizer is a complete idiot. People are furious and saying he's going to be hearing about this for a long time... 😁 All that traveling and money spent was for nothing, just to end up being stuck... and they actually called America a total dump😳
Wait, so the dead guitars didn't even make it into the US, and they didn't even get to play? 😕
EDIT: Ugh, this tour diary written in German is even worse—they are absolutely livid. Morgan Chase4, you're in trouble 😬
Hey everyone. I've got something interesting to write about today. We are currently somewhere in Canada. The gig in America isn't happening because this damn country won't let us in (not an EU member yet). The American promoter is a total joke —he tried to handle the logistics for both bands at the border. He really should have sorted this out beforehand; today is Sunday... Both bands are traveling without ATA Carnets, and now the American customs officer has completely trashed the whole show... so, the entire trip was for nothing. The Mission is currently trying to enter as private citizens (without any instruments) just to see if they can play using some rented gear. But the border stations are already talking to each other over the phone... it's a 50/50 shot. Everyone in our crew is incredibly pissed off & the promoter will be hearing from us soon —wasted travel, no merch sales, plus extra stays and expenses...

Just a heads up, based on your grammar and how you write, I honestly thought you were the student rather than the teacher... 😉
Kimberly Clark2 said:Man, I'm done with them. They scheduled the festival for a Tuesday and Wednesday. A total disaster. The focus is strictly and solely on the people living in NYC. I can't wait until I win a few million on the lottery so I can bring all the big names in the music industry to some lakes outside of Philly on a Wednesday and Thursday. Then they can see what it's actually like for folks to ride a bus for 10 hours to a concert, only to wait in line for two hours for lukewarm beer and vouchers like they did last year at the VIP section (no hard feelings to the local music lovers, this is aimed at those damn organizers mid week). But hey, if Cave (saw him back in '94 in Toronto) and Radiohead are playing (I don't even want to hear their names), then whatever. Still, a TOTAL DISASTER. Pinkpop, Rock in the Park, everything happens in early June, so why on earth didn't they organize a festival in freaking July or like they did last year? Anyway, before I get even angrier I'll stop writing. Peace!

The festival should have been in early July... but then again, that wouldn't have even been a weekend; people were talking about July 3rd. 😉 But like I already said, the festival caters to the headliners and what they want, not to the audience and our school or college schedules. Now it turns out everyone will just happen to be on break that exact day, yeah right. 🙄 Back when I was in college, I was just happy if some band eventually made their way to a nearby city, and I didn't complain about having to travel mid-week or sleeping in train stations... not to mention when I was 19, someone actually brought Sonic Youth to my hometown. Honestly, you guys are just way too spoiled. 👎
Michelle Hall9 said:I’m not feeling this one at all. What kind of leap year dates are Tuesday and Wednesday? 😠 Honest people have college classes to attend or travel plans to make. I don't know, 🤷 if there isn't some spectacular headliner—something like Radiohead, which isn't happening—then I'm out.
Look, the dates being midweek is definitely a bummer, but let's be real: the US market isn't going to dictate terms to giants like Germany or the Netherlands just yet. You have to consider the scheduling. The weekend right before this features Primavera in Barcelona and Pinkpop in the Netherlands, and the following weekend is Rock am Ring/Rock im Park, both of which have much deeper traditions than Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Later weekends are already booked up too—think Lollapalooza, Heineken in Venice, Southside, Roskilde, and so on. Plus, since Cave & the Seeds are touring during that exact window, the dates are being adjusted to fit their schedule. Maybe in a few years, our local market will have enough leverage to set its own conditions, but for now, we just don't have that luxury.
On top of that, the European Soccer Championship kicks off right around those same days this year. It wouldn't make any sense to host a festival on June 29th when the final is 🙂
