The Legend of the Cold Stone in Health ·
I heard that sitting on cold stone is a one-way ticket to getting hemorrhoids.🤷
Grace Rodriguez10 said:...So, legally speaking, cyclists don't have the right to ride on the sidewalk if there isn't a dedicated bike lane there. Honestly? I'd much rather just pay a ticket than risk getting flattened by a car on the road.

Thanks for clearing that up. Every cyclist needs to know this stuff just as well as any driver on the road.

I'm totally with you on that—it's way better to deal with a fine than to get taken out by a truck or a car. There are some hills where cars fly by at crazy speeds. If you're on a bike, especially when you're wiped out, you just can't keep up. Then you've got all these drivers honking and losing their minds at you.
So here’s what the law actually says about how you should ride your bike

The vehicle code also lays it out clearly in Section 21:

"A rider must use the roadway exclusively, specifically the center
of a marked lane, or a dedicated lane or path designated for that specific type
of vehicle, unless there is an immediate danger."

Basically, if someone uses the excuse that drivers were flying too fast, honking at them, or being total jerks (which happens all the time), I bet they could get away with hopping onto the sidewalk without getting hit with a fine of $100

Check out this page for more details on the whole thing:

It feels like they’re just passing laws for the sake of having something to point at when they want to bust people in court. They should focus on actually building decent bike lanes everywhere first, then they can worry about handing out tickets...

I guess we'll just be walking our bikes on the sidewalk then...

And what about those reflective vests?

Look, if there's a bike lane, you stay in it. If there isn't one and riding in traffic is sketchy, you take the sidewalk. Simple as that. You can grab a reflective vest at any gas station for maybe five bucks.

I stumbled upon this interesting article—it's from about six months ago, but honestly, it's still spot on: Cyclists, watch your heads!

Daniel Chavez66 said:Yeah, but here's the catch. If there isn't a designated path on the sidewalk, you're basically forced to match pedestrian speed. Basically, you can't go faster because if you're cruising at a walking pace, what's even the point of having a bike?

Do you really have to slow down to a walk just because there aren't any pedestrians around? Logic says you should go full speed when the coast is clear and only tap the brakes when people actually show up.

They wiped out almost all the comments under this article in The New York Times, leaving only a few tiny, irrelevant ones behind.
Daniel Chavez66 said:That basically means pretty much every street with any kind of car traffic is a hazard. Honestly, it wouldn't even be an issue if our driving culture wasn't such a complete mess. From what I can tell, if a cop pulls you over for driving on the sidewalk, you just tell them you felt unsafe on the road and that’s usually the end of it.🤷

Look, if the traffic laws say driving on the sidewalk is legal, then a cop shouldn't be pulling you over for it. Period. The only way that becomes an issue is if you’re being reckless or speeding and actually putting pedestrians in danger. At least, that’s how I read that specific section of the driving code.
jadetiger962 said:As far as I know, you aren't even allowed on the sidewalk unless there’s an actual bike lane marked out there...

I saw someone in the comments under the article saying you actually can ride on the sidewalk. Plus, I read somewhere online that traffic laws allow it if riding in the street feels too risky.
Daniel Chavez66 said:Look, those BMWs are just way too bulky and sluggish for chasing down cyclists.

The reality is simple. When you're out there on a bike, you're basically forced to break half the traffic laws just to move.

Down in Miami, even the cops are cruising on scooters—and I'm not talking about those little 50cc toys.
Now we’re just gonna start coming for cyclists riding on the sidewalk. That writer over at The New York Times basically claimed it's illegal for them to be there, and anyone who skims that without actually knowing the local traffic laws is gonna walk away thinking she's right.
Daniel Chavez66 said:Honestly, I’m not even surprised that cyclists cause chaos on the roads like this article claims. It's simple logic. We're basically the only ones out here without dedicated lanes or safe spaces to move. I ride my bike every single day—commuting to work, heading out with friends, everything. I can't get anywhere without mixing it up between bike paths, main roads, and sidewalks. If there were better options, sure, I'd change my routine. But there aren't. As for those fines? Look, if a cop actually manages to pull me over while I'm on my bike, I'll happily pay the ticket. But let's be real: that hasn't happened yet. And it won't happen until they start riding bikes themselves. Until then, whether they're walking or driving cars and motorcycles, all they can do is stare at my rear end and curse me out like they always have.

But what about those cops on motorcycles?
The article says cyclists aren't allowed on the sidewalk, but I read somewhere else that if riding in the street is too risky, you can actually hop onto the sidewalk. Is that true, or is what's being reported in The New York Times the actual rule?

Patrick King7 said:My bicycle weighs in at 14.5 kg! I'm about 187 lbs, so we're looking at roughly 220 lbs total! That doesn't even include the frame structure or extra gear like my backpack. Honestly, maybe a 30-foot wingspan would cut it, provided the wings were wide enough to cover the whole bicycle. Maybe even wider! You'd need a high-flow propeller too—at least 5 feet in diameter with three blades and some serious RPMs just to get airborne and maintain that glider effect. We’re talking a full Carbon frame, Carbon components, and everything else made of titanium or magnesium...

You have to calculate exactly how much thrust is required to keep all that junk in the air. And that needs to be a constant force. So, who on earth is strong enough or has the stamina to hold up that much weight in mid-air for thirty minutes straight?

What happens if you just run out of steam at like 100 feet up and have nowhere to land? You could end up dropping straight into heavy traffic, or hitting spiked fences, or getting chased by some angry dogs 😁... or what if a sudden gust of wind just slams into you and flips you completely off balance? Honestly, I’ll stick to a classic bicycle or a good old-fashioned bike 😁

I mean, just the other day on the Boardwalk, some stupid pigeon almost took me out. I saw him flying right at my face at head height, and right as I ducked, he zipped by just 20 cm above my head. Now imagine trying to fly like that and getting smacked by a seagull that weighs a few pounds
Douglas King7 said:So, is anybody actually going to say anything about this? 😢

I haven’t heard anyone talk about hair turning gray overnight, but I have read that sitting around too much can cause follicle cells to start pumping out peroxide molecules that bleach your hair from the inside out.

Betty Rivera14 said:I've been feeling this hard bump on the outer part of my shin, right just below the knee, for quite a while now (feels like bone 😕 )

I wouldn't even be sweating it if it hadn't clearly grown lately. Now I can feel it through my skin without any trouble—it’s about 3-4 cm long and one end is tucked right under the knee area. It is definitely a bony growth. If I sit with my legs crossed for too long, the pressure on that spot actually gives me a bruise.

So, is this thing growing into an extra leg for me? 😕

You posted this five years ago! So, did the "extra leg" finally finish growing, or did that bump ever go away? Also, was it actually bone or just more like a skin growth?

My bad 😁 clearly I totally misread the situation

Anthony Long2 said:... and he was just massaging me there, I won't even get into the details, but he touched me and I totally peaked. I felt these crazy vibrations right under my neck area. It wasn't even about being turned on by him specifically, it was just that the orgasm was on a whole different level. It wasn't even sexual, if that makes sense!!!
I got home from his place three hours ago and now I'm craving sex like crazy. It’s indescribable. But that's not even the point,I still have four more sessions to go so someone please tell me who's actually losing it here and what is actually happening
☕

But seriously, did you end up going back for the rest of the sessions? And hey, give us the tea—was everything okay when you finished?

He wasn't the one who finished, she was. How is he supposed to report someone else for forced climax? That's not how it works. She'd basically be reporting herself.

hiddensailor14 totally nailed it. The guy basically played her, but hey, at least he did it with style. Very sexualized style. 😂

Laughing Jack, I seriously cannot believe this. Oh man, I am running straight to the moderators with this one. *clap*

It’s basically just some fairy tale from Grimm. That’s all she wants—just a little way to let her imagination run wild with us here. She’s looking for an older guy, maybe a doctor, probably a gynecologist or a vet (in this story, let’s call him a holistic healer) so he can take advantage of her sexually. It’s clearly what turns her on. Just having him touch her under the guise of a medical exam or therapy.
