On my septum.
I had a deviated septum, so I went under the knife, and since I also had an irregular nasal structure (basically a larger nose with a prominent bump😁), they decided to fix that at the same time.
As for how it looks aesthetically, I honestly have no clue yet because I’m still stuck wearing this splint.

So far, my experience following the surgery has been pretty positive—recovery is actually going smoother than I anticipated. It’s been about ten days since the procedure.
The pain wasn't overwhelming; I dealt with quite a bit of swelling, but that, along with the bruising, is mostly gone now.
I didn't experience any bleeding in the back of my throat at all.
My biggest struggle was being unable to breathe through my nose while the packing was in; it kept my mouth constantly dry and left my throat feeling sore.

Before the surgery, I was honestly terrified of the anesthesia, but it turned out to be absolutely fine. I was under general anesthesia, and once I woke up, I didn't deal with any nausea or a sore throat. In fact, since the surgery took a while, I actually managed to get some really decent rest 🙂 and slept so well that I didn't feel the need to nap at all afterward.

Is it actually "civil" or "well-argued" to just shut down a thread by saying, "My blood pressure rises whenever someone opens a thread because it raises my blood pressure"?

On Reddit, moderators sometimes lock threads and provide an explanation (which is true, though often pretty vague) as to why they did it. Usually, those explanations make sense to me—but I just ran into one specific reason for a lockout that left me feeling 😕

Basically, a user started a thread titled "Democratic Party bickering" and wrote: "Lately, Democratic Party bickering has been driving my blood pressure through the roof because suddenly everyone in the Republican Party supposedly knew everything... that they should have reported it sooner etc..."
"But what about the Democrats and their own versions of Ivo Sanader? First and foremost, I'm thinking of Milan Bandić, whom the Democrats practically worshipped just as much as the Republicans loved Sanader. Why don't the Democrats hand over evidence to the FBI regarding Bandić, Ljubičić, and their other little Sanaders? Or will they also be claiming in a few months that they knew nothing—nothing at all—about what any sane person already knows? And that is, every single county and every city in America with more than 20,000 people has its own version of Sanader or Bandić..."

Shortly after that, the moderator locked the thread with this explanation: "It raises my blood pressure when someone starts a thread just because their blood pressure went up."

The reasoning behind that feels completely ridiculous to me. It implies that the moderator takes issue with a user starting a discussion based on something that annoyed or upset them. But that's exactly why a ton of people here start threads without getting shut down—so it feels like there’s some other underlying motive here.

I don't follow politics very closely, so I'm not exactly an expert on how things "work" in that world. I don't know—maybe the topic was already being debated in another thread, maybe it had been discussed too much already, or maybe the user is known for being a provocateur or something...
If that were the case, they could have just said so instead of: "It raises my blood pressure when someone starts a thread just because their blood pressure went up."
I can't find a legitimate reason for locking the thread in that sentence. To me, it just screams moderator ego and arbitrary power trips (not saying it actually is, but that's the impression I get).

Couldn't they have explained the closure in a slightly better or more acceptable way?

I think it makes sense to list us as tied for 2nd since we finished with the exact same score. As for the prizes, I’m perfectly happy taking the third-place prize, so Anthony Smith3, feel free to send the second-place one your way. I didn't get a chance to watch The Departed, so honestly, just getting to see that movie is enough of a reward for me

The differences I got were 9, 9, 8... honestly, thank god he changed the rules so that you only get points if everything is correct. Otherwise, it would have been a joke where someone who didn't even bother looking for differences or answering was actually in a better position than someone who put in the work to find them but missed one or two out of ten or fifteen.

Movie 12 is definitely The Terror. I just found the exact scene, somewhere around the 10 to 15-minute mark... I think the reason I didn't post it earlier was because I wasn't totally sure myself.

As for number 10, I'm leaning toward Hoffa. It feels way too coincidental if the initials match up perfectly and it's not actually the answer...
