Prehrana d.o.o out of St. Louis has an office right near the train station. I think the director's daughter actually runs the show there—Catering Bugarin, if I recall correctly—and her name is Ivanna. They handed me one of their brochures during our meeting, but honestly? Their prices are steep. Then again, maybe it’s just me. If you have your own backyard to cook in, paying for any catering feels like throwing money straight into the trash.

Look, they bring everything—full setup, tents, linens, glassware, the whole nine yards. Everything looks high-end and perfectly coordinated. If you aren't sweating the price tag, they’re top-tier. 🙂

Check out this link for food service equipment: http://www.prehrana.net/prehrana-oprema.html Here are the details.

Anyone know what the pricing looks like at the Exclusive flower shop over in El Paso? Everything in these photos looks incredible, but I have a feeling it might break the bank.
Ljubičica from Indianapolis is in the same boat—no clue what their rates are like.

I just saw their booth at the trade show and their work looks great. Their prices seemed pretty reasonable too, so I was wondering if anyone here has actually used them before?

Also, what’s the general price range for flower arrangements lately? Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, budget-friendly spot?

I’ve heard they do good work, but they charge a premium. Then again, I don't trust hearsay. You can find their page on Facebook—there are plenty of photos there—but honestly, looking at their portfolio, I’m not exactly sold on their style.

I have no clue how prices are moving these days. Honestly, I was floored by the cost of those decorative spheres. I really wanted those live flower arrangements on the tables, but that’s only happening if I hit the jackpot in the lottery, lol. 😁

Anthony Hall83 said:I have to say, I am just as disappointed with the expo as everyone else—I honestly expected so much more from the whole experience! We were really hoping to scout out a photographer while walking the aisles, but looking at the lineup they had there, not a single one caught my eye... nothing even remotely interesting. What do you all think—will it be too late if we wait until January to start our search? Our wedding isn't until September, so I'm wondering if we still have plenty of runway left...

Isn't it a bit late for you to be checking Facebook Leon Productions at 1:00 AM?
Check out Facebook Leon Productions—those guys are phenomenal, though they aren't exactly cheap. If you're looking for options, there's also Click Photo out of Savannah. I had some shots done by them the other day, and honestly, the way he curated the wedding album was incredible. I'm not just saying they're good; they're top-tier. Their work in the shop is killer, too. You can find plenty of their stuff on Facebook if you want to see for yourself. The quality is seriously impressive.
Blic Videostudio is also out of Savannah. Hard to say if they're any good—they don't exactly flood their Facebook with work—but I'm sure they're lurking around somewhere.
Photo Mara from White Monastery is also top-tier, but he told me he’s done with video. He's sticking strictly to photography now.
There. Hopefully, that helped a little. 😁

If anyone’s still hunting for a venue, there’s a new hall over in Kozarac on the main road heading toward White Monastery. It just opened about five months ago. It holds up to 300 people—plenty of space, and honestly, the food is great. If you want the specifics, shoot me a DM.

Haven't picked them up yet. Still hunting. 😁

I hit up Fifth Avenue yesterday. There’s this shop on one of the floors that carries all kinds of decor—fancy stuff and everyday basics. They have vases in every shape imaginable and they won't break the bank. You can find anything from 5-$2.00 small ball-shaped ones to $33 massive martini glasses (way too big for me). They really have everything. I might check out Harkany next since I heard prices are better there, but if nothing works out, I'll just grab something at that shop on Fifth.

Still haven't found those specific candlesticks from the link I posted. :/

Anthony Hall83 said:Ethan Wilson94, regarding those florists over near Columbus—I’ve actually been quite impressed by the work from the Exclusive shop out in El Paso... they have a Facebook profile under Wedding Decoration (Wedding Decoration Vu) where you can browse their portfolio. I haven't had the chance to see their setups in person or get a handle on their pricing yet, but I have seen several posts on the forums suggesting people are pretty happy with them 🙂

Hey, thanks. Everything looks gorgeous—exactly what I had in mind. Just hoping they don't break the bank. 🙂

They are a fully registered business, everything is incredibly clean and organized, and the pricing is very fair. What really stood out to me was that their service includes refrigerated transport directly to the venue and provides neat plastic containers with lids for everything.
The pastries themselves were exquisite—not dry at all, with that wonderful homemade flavor. As for the cakes, they were massive and absolutely stunning; they had that modern, youthful aesthetic I had been dreaming of. Truly, they were perfection!
Our entire wedding party was raving about the sweets; in fact, guests were actually coming up to us afterward to ask where we ordered them from, and several people ended up booking them for their own upcoming celebrations. In short, I cannot recommend them highly enough! 🙂

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Those cookies look incredible—exactly what I’m looking for. I want to mix things up by pairing creamy textures with the drier ones, and honestly, their selection is spot on. The pricing seems pretty fair, too. I think I’m going to reach out to them. 🙂

Alright, I’ve got more questions. Does anyone know a good florist in Columbus or the surrounding areas that won't charge an arm and a leg? Everyone on this forum keeps recommending places in Washington, D.C., and honestly, I don't have the patience to scroll through all those threads. What am I looking at cost-wise for decor for roughly 200 guests? I'm thinking roses—it'll be September. I want to mix in some small floral spheres, like little mini bouquets or whatever they call them, plus candles in glass votives with those little decorative balls. I'd probably just buy the candle stuff myself. I also want some tall single-candle holders scattered around. Look, I haven't fully decided yet. This is just narrowing down my options, and the final call is going to depend entirely on the price tag. So, what's the going rate for flowers in September and these types of candle holders? Here’s what the holders look like:
Check out this shot from Zoe Photography. [Link]They’re about 10 inches high and maybe 3 inches wide, I can't quite remember.

I'm looking at a budget around 3,000.$1333 Max, don't be stingy with the flowers. 🙂

frozenangler87 said:So, I actually have some dessert recommendations from Catherine in Ivankov. I ended up getting them mostly because I saw how they work, and they're just so careful about cleanliness and everything.
And if you ask me, they’re easily the best wedding sweets I've ever had. Definitely better than the ones from Babin Greda. At least, for my taste!
Whenever I went to a big party, I’d always grab their cakes, and they really are flawless. Same goes for the pastries—they’re seriously loaded with poppy seeds or walnuts, depending on what you pick.

Price: $0.67 per piece, cake is $50, and a typical wedding cake usually runs around 700!
Definitely my top pick!

So, when's the big day? Got any photos? I've been scouring the web but can't find much besides a few random cake shots. A friend of mine just got married and had their pastries—man, I ate so much. They were laid out so neatly, too. But then again, I didn't try the actual cakes, and they didn't look like anything special to me. Maybe I was just stuffed from all the other sweets xD Thanks for the tip! 🙂
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Anyone got recommendations for good desserts? I’ve heard about Babin Greda, but their stuff is a bit light for my taste—though they were solid at weddings I went to. I also heard Ivankov makes great treats, but I haven't tried their cakes yet, and honestly, they didn't look like much.

I’ve been touring wedding venues lately, and honestly? Zelenkrov’s vibe just didn't hit for me. On the other hand, Crystal has an absolutely stunning ballroom. Food-wise, the menus are pretty much identical, though Zelenkrov charges a premium—but word on the street is the quality is top-tier and nobody leaves hungry. I haven't heard any specific feedback on Crystal yet, but my first impression was solid. As for the rest of them? Meh. They aren't terrible, but they don't even come close to the two I mentioned. If you're looking to cut corners, your best bet is to rent a space and bring your own catering and drinks (provided you have a reliable team to help out). The catch is most places won't let you do that. The only one I know that actually allows it is Classic.

Sean Cox50 said:I booked the Crystal ballroom for November... I’ve heard nothing but good things from people who held their weddings there. They have two halls right next to each other—one holds up to 300 guests, and the other fits 500.

I checked out their website. The venues are stunning—honestly, even better than Patria. I looked through the brochure, but they don't list any prices anywhere. Can you tell me what you ended up paying? Shoot me a DM if you want. Also, do they force you to use their catering for cakes and desserts? It looks like their per-head price covers everything listed in the brochure, so I'm wondering if they'll give you a discount if you bring your own.
Sent them an email asking about the rates, but I'm still waiting to hear back.

Anyone have the scoop on Crystal Hall? What’s the vibe like there, any real impressions?

jadeskipper85 said:You should check out Salomón in a Small town; they hold up to 230 guests. My wedding is actually being held there. You can find them on Facebook to see photos—they can email you their price list directly. They offer everything from budget-friendly options to... well, let's just say you can pick whatever fits your needs, from the menu to extras. They even partner with bands and photographers, so you can customize the whole package. I ended up getting the catering, the next-day brunch, decor, light show, cakes, bouquets, and boutonnieres from them—basically everything except the band. The woman running the show is incredibly helpful; she answers every question and goes out of her way to accommodate you. Even the meat is their own—a relative runs a local butchery. From what I've heard, everyone loves it, so I'm just waiting for my turn next year.😁 Do I really need to mention it's quite close to the city? 🙂

My mom had nothing but good things to say about that hall. She was actually chatting with a bride who just got married there two weeks ago. Zero complaints. Everything went perfectly, and it was super affordable. She said the servers were top-notch and attentive, and the food was excellent, though I think they ordered the dessert from somewhere else, maybe a small town nearby or out near a suburb.

That said, my fiancé and I are looking at the Patria Hotel since we're both originally from the Finger Lakes area, but we haven't checked prices yet. I have a feeling it might be pretty pricey. Does anyone have any intel on that?
Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
I'm looking for some halls near Indianapolis—specifically in those smaller towns that aren't too far from the city. I tried searching online, but everything just points back to Indy or some suburban town, and if you look toward the Finger Lakes, there are barely three options to choose from.

Oh, and I need space for about 180 people. If anyone knows any spots, throw some prices and honest reviews my way. Thanks 🙂
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
kat Filipović-Ljubičić—anyone know what she's like? I need to see her, but I really don't want to regret it..

I'm dealing with early gum disease. I'm only 20, and my bone is already receding everywhere, even though my teeth look fine—just signs of gum recession. My teeth are actually healthy, except for two with fillings.
Does anyone know if there are any discounts on exams or periodontal treatment since I have insurance through my university? Also, does anyone know what periodontal procedures cost in Indianapolis—like bone grafts and stuff? Are they cheaper with insurance, or does it not cover that kind of thing?

Thanks.
Casey Chase said:Mine’s always been on the lower side too—currently sitting at around 100/70 with a heart rate of 89, which honestly feels fine... except for the fact that I’m constantly dealing with these dizzy spells. Look, I know it’s nothing life-threatening, but man, I am just so damn tired of this constant exhaustion. It’s like a cycle of being sleepy, then tired, then sleepy again... I think coffee helps me stay afloat, though let's be real, I'm basically addicted at this point. Hey Ethan Wilson94, the only time I actually felt somewhat decent over the last couple of years was when I was doing some intense cardio workouts, and I’m definitely getting back into a routine this fall... I guess anything is better than feeling like a zombie all the time.

Yeah, that exhaustion really gets under your skin. Especially when you're trying to actually get stuff done, like cleaning the house, but all you want to do is crawl into bed.

I joined a gym last fall, following a specific program meant to boost my health. All I got out of it was even worse dizziness because the trainer's routine was way too intense for me. I quit. Maybe I'll try step aerobics or something similar next time—something to actually get my blood pressure up.
How do I fix my liver?

An acquaintance told me about this woman who was allergic to lettuce, but she just kept eating it until her body finally desensitized itself.

I wish I could pull a stunt like that, but honestly, the fear of choking is holding me back. I know logically I need to stop obsessing over it and just go back to eating normally, but I can't shake the terror that the swelling will come back. Last time, I looked like a bloated bug—I couldn't even open my eyes and I was struggling to breathe. If it were just some itching or redness, I wouldn't be this terrified.
Honestly, I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one dealing with a racing heart whenever my blood pressure drops. It was starting to freak me out.

Unlike some of you, my blood pressure is actually decent, but it still doesn't sit right with me. Maybe some of you would feel great at 100/60, but all I feel is totally wiped out all day long.

I’m a total joke in the winter. As soon as it gets dark around 4:30 PM, I’m basically out for the count—and even then, I can only fall asleep if I’m slumped in an armchair.

Oh, and regarding what wirednomad42 said about thyroid issues—some people suggested that might be the culprit since I also deal with constant constipation. But I haven't gone in for tests yet because my doctor won't give me a referral. He just insists I'm perfectly healthy and tells me to stop imagining I have all these different diseases.
placidjackal36 said:I just hope this actually useful thread doesn't devolve into some mindless "mythology vs. preservatives" war.

Ethan Wilson94, you probably picked up that reaction from some fruit. Remember eating anything out of the ordinary lately?

One doctor tells me to stay far away from preservatives, while another claims it was probably the fruit because I eat stuff like Doritos and all that junk constantly. I had some peaches—I rarely ever touch them, honestly, maybe once in a blue moon—but I ate them a week ago and felt fine. So now I'm confused. If it was the peaches, why didn't I react the first time?
Anyway, until they run actual tests, I've been told to eat healthy but avoid fruit too. What a disaster.
So, a few days ago I had a massive allergic reaction—angioedema. Now I’m stuck waiting ten days just to get my bloodwork done, and then another month to actually see the results. In the meantime, I have to dodge all fruit, fruit products, and anything containing preservatives. Basically, if it comes from a grocery store shelf, it's off-limits unless it's fresh milk—not the long-life stuff. I did cheat a bit with some yogurt and cream, but I've been taking my pills so I didn't react. I’m supposed to stick to homemade bread, though I slipped up and grabbed some pastries and bakery rolls while trying to manage this tea-only diet. Ugh, it is brutal trying to adjust to a life without sweets, chocolate, heavy spices, or sauces. I'm a foodie, through and through, but I can't risk it. I'm terrified of that swelling happening again and causing me to choke. No seasoning blends, no pepper, no preservatives, no additives. I can't even have juice or a cappuccino; it's just coffee and tea. I am seriously craving sugar right now. I'd kill for some homemade jam, but since I don't even know what triggered this—maybe fruit, maybe a preservative, maybe some random additive—I have to play it safe and avoid fruit entirely.

Anyway, I really hope you can handle the transition. Fingers crossed you don't run into too much trouble with it.
I don't know anything about natural shampoos, but I'd bet a local drugstore carries something like that.
I’ve been doing a deep dive online, but honestly, it's a mess. To make matters worse, I’m dealing with this stupid allergy situation—I had an allergic reaction called angioedema, so now my diet is basically non-existent. I have to cut out anything with preservatives or additives, which pretty much covers everything. I’m still drinking coffee just so my blood pressure doesn't bottom out, even though I know I shouldn't. They told me to avoid fruit too, just in case it's part of the trigger. I have no clue what to eat to help manage my blood pressure when I can't touch spices, and I can barely drink anything besides water and fresh milk. I'm already breaking my own rules by having coffee, because without it, I’m a zombie.
