Blood in semen: what should I do? in Health ·
Quick question—I’ve got to drop off a sample tomorrow morning for some tests because there was some blood in my semen.

Should I collect it tonight or just wait until the morning? And if I go with tonight, do I need to toss it in the fridge overnight? I did get those sterile specimen cups from my doctor, though.

Thanks

So, I noticed something a bit weird after sex earlier—my semen looked kind of grayish. Honestly, I can’t tell if it was actually darker, maybe tinged with blood, or just a gray tint... it’s hard to say. I’m low-key worried there might be some pus involved. Since I was under those harsh neon lights, I can’t be 100% sure about the color either.

Anyway, I’ve got a checkup scheduled for sometime next week, so we'll see what the doctor says.

So, basically, the whole thing came back yesterday—and hit way harder during masturbation. I ended up ejaculating what was pretty much blood. I can’t say for sure how accurate that description is because I was in total shock, but it was fresh blood, like when you get a tooth pulled and spit... not quite as pure as if it were straight from a wound, though.

Then I had a full-blown panic attack and ended up collapsing in the hallway. I just laid there with my arms and legs up, waiting for the world to stop spinning. Afterward, I felt this pain right by my bladder—kind of above the penis, internally—but honestly, it might just be my head playing tricks on me since I’ve been spiraling while reading about prostatitis.

I called the doctor and now I have to see a urologist, even though he doesn't seem super worried—which is my dad.

Anyway, life has been a complete wreck lately—work, marriage, my own mental state, money issues... just a constant stream of stress—and this was really the last thing I needed. I’m at a loss, honestly. Just sitting here wondering what to think or even what to do while I wait for my appointment.
For the last few days, I’ve had stress-induced diarrhea, but that’s actually settled down after three days. It made me wonder if that could play a part, maybe because the gut is "pressing" against the prostate.

My mind immediately jumps straight to the worst-case scenarios—prostate cancer, testicular cancer, colon cancer... the whole works.
I struggle with anxiety, which I'm treating, and you wouldn't believe how much this is messing with me. I mean, I’m already the kind of guy who loses it over a tiny pimple under my armpit because I'm terrified it's a swollen lymph node.

To make matters worse, I was all alone for that hour before my meds kicked in, and I felt like I was practically jumping out of my skin.

Now that I'm thinking back, I remember that for most of my twenties, I'd often feel this "twitching" sensation in my prostate—right there between the scrotum and the anus—after finishing, especially after good sex. Sometimes it would happen even without any sexual activity, just out of nowhere. But who cares about that when you're in your early twenties? You deal with it, move on, and keep having sex without a second thought. Now that I'm 30, I'm freaking out because I've officially left that youthful bubble where the prostate isn't something you worry about.

I'm scared, and I have no idea how to stop these thoughts from looping. The medication helps, but I shouldn't overdo it because I need to stay functional, and being on them makes me feel like I'm constantly half-asleep.

Look, it’s not like I’m some kind of loser or anything. Honestly—back in the day, maybe ten years ago—I was way more active and... well, let's just say things were happening much more frequently, and yet, nothing ever came of it.

So, I just got back from the doctor. He basically told me this kind of thing happens sometimes—not exactly a shocker—and said if everything feels normal afterward, I should just keep an eye on my... uh, performance... and check back in if it happens again. Then we can go ahead with the actual sperm counts and all those other tests.

Of course, he had about a hundred questions ready to go—asking if I’d been through some trauma, how long I’d been "standing at attention," blah blah blah. So now, naturally, I’m just constantly hovering around my wife’s backside and grabbing handfuls of tissues just so I can "monitor the situation."

So, things were pretty much business as usual during sex last night. My wife was really pushing for us to give it a shot, and eventually, I just gave in.

The main thing is, there wasn't any sign of blood or anything. Everything seemed totally fine.

Now, the big question—should I actually bother making an appointment with my doctor, or just let it go?

Larry Walker24 said:Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m getting at

If you're feeling way too wired, just go handle it yourself before you jump into bed with them

But honestly, what you're doing isn't exactly the healthiest move

Hold on a second—I don't think I know a single guy out there who doesn't do that. If I handle it myself before we get to the bedroom, I don't have to worry about finishing too early. And let's be real, without any extra "work," the whole thing lasts maybe five minutes. God, all those articles in Men's Health about "how to last longer" or "delaying orgasm"...
What a load of crap.

Larry Walker24 said:Look, holding back an orgasm is actually bad for your prostate health, and you really shouldn't be doing that

Also, seeing blood in your semen can sometimes just be from being a little too aggressive when you're masturbating

Also, what exactly does "delaying an orgasm" mean to you? I'm really hoping you don't mean that thing where you feel it coming, slow down until the feeling passes, and then start all over again. Because if that's the case, I do that all the time—and man, sex would be incredibly short and boring if that was the definition.

To me, delaying means actually stopping it when it's already right there. Like, you feel it’s practically out, maybe even a little physical pressure, but you cut it off before the actual climax hits. It's more of a sudden halt than a slow down. Honestly, I've probably only done this to myself maybe twice—once was about a month ago. The issue was it happened late at night, and I didn't finish, so I just went to sleep. Then in the morning, I tried to take care of things myself, but my wife had to head off to work. So, I didn't actually get to finish until later that evening.

Damn, my doctor isn't even coming in until Monday for his rounds, and I ended up missing my shift for the coverage too.

I don't really do that often—honestly, this is maybe the second time in my life I've ever held back. And it definitely wasn't because I was being too aggressive or anything. I mean, what do you have to do to actually cause bleeding? That seems extreme.

I’d love to just take care of things right now to see if the situation clears up, but I can't relax enough to even think about it with this blood hanging over my head. Honestly, under this kind of stress, I wouldn't be getting up for anything in the world.

The worst part is now I’m stuck wondering if I should just try to take care of things myself or actually go for it with a partner—just to see if everything still works. But honestly? It’s pretty hard to get anything going when you’re dealing with this much anxiety and pressure hanging over your head.

Should I head straight to the doctor right now, or just wait a few days and see?

Honestly, I’m freaking out—I nearly lost my lunch from a panic attack when I saw this.
Blood in semen: what should I do? in Health ·
So, I’m 29 and a half. Woke up this morning and noticed my semen looks... off. Like, orange-ish. I checked it against some white paper and realized there’s definitely blood in there. Honestly? I’m freaking out. My erections are fine, ejaculation feels normal, no issues peeing—nothing. No pain at all. I even went looking for scratches or cuts on my junk, hoping maybe I just nicked myself somewhere and that's where the blood came from, but nothing. It's coming straight from the ejaculate.

Last month, my testicle was hurting pretty bad after sex, but I figured it was just because I’d been edging for like two days straight. The day before this, I spent an hour with my girlfriend without actually finishing (not a medical thing, just how it went), and then again the next morning because I wanted to "build up" for later that night. Each time, I was right on the edge.

Everything seemed totally normal yesterday, and then boom—blood this morning. I’ve always been a bit of a worrier; five years ago, I actually went in for a testicular ultrasound because of some pain. Turned out everything was perfectly fine—it was just a pinched nerve in my groin from hitting the gym too hard.

Right now, though, I am spiraling. I mean, seriously, zero symptoms other than the bloody semen. As for sex, we’re doing it maybe once or twice a week since we work opposite shifts and don't see each other much.

I feel like I’m losing my mind here—I’ve been sitting here for an hour feeling nauseous and breaking out in a cold sweat.

People tend to trip up on stuff like this because, let's face it, the market for standard tech components—you know, things like GPUs, monitors, processors, etc.—is pretty much a solved puzzle where everyone knows what they're getting. But Wacom? They live and breathe graphic tablets; they’re basically the gold standard in that specific niche. On the flip side, you’ve got brands like Trust, Logitech, or Genius. Sure, they sell tablets, but they also sell everything from keyboards and speakers to those totally useless little gadgets, like a USB coffee warmer or a tiny USB desk light. Will their tablet work? Yeah, it’ll work. BUT... don't expect that same drawing experience. Wacom is just way more dynamic—it has that incredibly precise, "real" pressure sensitivity that we all know is absolutely vital when you're actually trying to draw. Plus, you've got software like Corel or Adobe, which play much nicer with Wacom gear. Then there's the whole longevity factor—build quality is heavily in Wacom's corner here. Their stuff is built to handle serious mileage, whereas those cheaper options feel more like something you'd give a kid who's just starting to mess around with sketching. Honestly, it's smarter to just invest in the real deal from the jump.

analogpilot55 said:Hey everyone! I'm looking to pick up a drawing tablet, but honestly, my options in this price range feel pretty slim. I'm stuck deciding between the Wacom Intuos Pen & touch Medium and the trust Slize Ultra Slim. The Wacom is sitting at about 1 $167 while the Trust is only $233. Not only is the Trust half the price, but it actually boasts a higher LPI resolution (4000 vs. 2540 LPI), a slightly larger active area (254x152 mm vs. 216x135 mm), and even throws in four extra buttons. The only real perk I see with the Wacom is that battery-free pen with the little eraser on the end. Why on earth is there such a massive price gap? Does the Trust have some hidden flaw I'm missing? I've been scouring the web for reviews, but it feels like nobody is actually saying anything about it.

I don't even know how to put this... it's kind of like washing machines. You've got an LG that comes with dual displays, a hundred different settings, fifteen color options, and even under-glow lighting so you can see it in the dark. Then, on the other hand, you've got a Miele—which basically has one tiny screen, five buttons, way fewer features, and looks like something designed twenty years ago. And yet, the Miele is still more expensive than the LG. Why??? $1000 It just makes no sense.
The reality is, the Miele I bought back in '96 has outlasted two Whirlpools, an LG, and at this rate, it'll probably outlive a Candy too. Sure, they aren't all in the same house, but I'm talking about pure longevity here. Plus, that Miele gets used way more than the others since those are just sitting in rental units being used seasonally, whereas the Miele is running year-round.

It's the exact same deal here. One has all the bells and whistles, but the other has a much more solid foundation. Most of those extra buttons are just clutter anyway. My girlfriend has a Wacom she picked up used about two years ago—so it's already four years old—and she uses it constantly, and it still runs like a dream. The Trust is fine if you just want to doodle something every once in a while, but if you’re planning to do anything remotely serious or work on it frequently, go with the Wacom. In my book, it's not worth cutting corners here. With the Trust, you'll probably start noticing the cracks after a year—things like surface sensitivity issues or buttons feeling loose and wobbly.

So, the PC is actually running fine now—turns out the keyboard was just being flaky and acting up all the time, plus there was some nonsense going on with the motherboard battery. Probably something to do with that. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the help.

Yeah, doing that would definitely be the smartest move here.😁

Benjamin King2 said:Just reset everything to the default BIOS settings once you've swapped out that battery.

Man, I have no clue how to do that part. So, I swapped the battery, switched the boot priority from the floppy back to the hard drive, and fixed the clock. Everything seems fine—mostly—except for this weird thing where the BIOS flashes "Adapter 1 no HDD found" for a split second during startup... I'm stuck on how to fix that. On the bright side, it isn't freezing anymore when I move the case or bump it—well, at least not yet. Maybe a loose connection finally settled itself out.

Edit:
Anyway, I’m actually typing this on the machine in question now.
Everything feels mostly normal, but the startup sequence is acting a little funky. First, the fans kick on, then they go quiet after about two seconds, and suddenly this Asus express gat pops up—which has never happened before—then two seconds later it tries to boot again, the fans spin back up, and it finishes the job. It all works, except for that annoying "Adapter 1 no HDD detected" message popping up right at the start. Still, it gets me into the OS just fine.

Benjamin King2 said:Not enough CUDA cores and the bus width is just too narrow—honestly, you’d probably be better off dumping that cash into a beefier processor instead. If I were you, I’d aim for at least a 650 Ti or a 660 as a baseline. Also, Trendkill, keep in mind that CUDA cards can seriously speed up your 3D rendering when you're working in Premiere or After Effects, so don't sleep on that.

Yeah, I really need to do some digging on all this since I'm pretty much flying blind here—I don't know the first thing about it.

Which online shop is the cheapest or just overall best here in the States? And is it even worth ordering from the US and dealing with shipping, customs, and taxes, or should I maybe look toward Europe??
That goes for warranties, pricing, and everything else, obviously.

Benjamin King2 said:Just hop into the BIOS and take a look. Usually, when you're booting up a Dell, it’ll pop up a little message on the screen saying "press ... to enter setup."

Looks like the date got reset back to whenever it left the factory... probably July 1st, 2009.
Might be worth messing around with the battery. Thanks anyway—honestly, I wouldn't have even thought to check this myself.
