Does the "99 Club" even matter anymore? in PC Games ·
I was looking at some player ratings the other day and it got me thinking about how much we obsess over these perfect scores in sports games. It feels like every year there's this massive debate about who is "elite" enough to hit the absolute ceiling, and who just barely misses the cut.

Honestly, I find it kind of silly. I've played a lot of these sims, and I've noticed that a player with a 97 or 98 rating often feels just as broken or overpowered as the guy with the 99. At a certain point, the difference is negligible for the actual gameplay, but the community loses its mind over it. It feels more like a popularity contest or a way to settle "who's better" arguments rather than a reflection of how the game actually plays.

It’s almost like we’ve created these arbitrary tiers that don't actually change the experience, yet they drive all the discourse. Do you guys actually care about those maxed-out ratings when you're building a roster, or is it all just noise?

Yes, perhaps that would have been the better path for me. However, I believe Paul Morales3 is correct in his assessment: one should ideally inform a person that their actions—or what they have done—were wrong. In my specific situation, though, that simply isn't an option.

Paul Morales3 said:I'm with you on all counts. Reaching that point of peace is damn near impossible when you're still stuck in the thick of regret, grief, and pure, unadulterated fury. Once you actually face those feelings head-on, that's when the gears start turning and you can finally move past that standstill.🙂

I forgot to mention one thing earlier. I think there's real value in making sure the person who crossed the line knows exactly what they did.
Tell them how much it sucked and lay out everything that matters to you. It won't change the facts of what happened, but it might provide some relief for your own sake.
And who knows? Maybe it'll actually hit them that they acted like a jerk and they'll feel some genuine remorse. Not that we need them begging for forgiveness—we don't owe them anything—but it's about them finally seeing themselves clearly for who they really were.

There is someone in my own life who has caused me so much harm that I truly cannot forgive them. And no, I can't say what I'm thinking directly to their face. I simply know they wouldn't grasp why their lifelong behavior was so damaging. But even though I have never offered forgiveness, I have managed to rid myself of the rage, the fury, and the sorrow; or perhaps, maybe there is still a bit of it left within me. 🙄
