There won't be anyone left in this world

I just rolled out of bed
But apparently, you've already checked out
After everything I did to try and reach you
Just through those headphones you're always wearing

@Dennis Martin6 always nails the visuals for a soundtrack. He just gets it.

Man, Possession. 1981 was a hell of a year for cinema. Just a solid era. 😁

I used to binge horror movies back when they actually meant something. Now? I'm getting older and I can't deal with the jump scares. I don't want to be lying awake at night staring at the ceiling. Guess I've gone soft. Maybe it's worth revisiting some of those old classics, though. Might actually be funny instead of terrifying. 😁

They’re all good guys. Honestly, you just don't find men like that anymore. Nowadays, everyone is just singing about hooking up and whatever else. Fine, maybe not everyone, but most of them. 🕺

I haven't been out of NY for long, though I really should get away. Maybe Paris, or Texas. Hmm, I'm not waiting until winter.

Not sure why this popped into my head just now.

Here I go again with this one. Harry is just great.

They don't make them like this anymore.

Yeah, I love it.

It honestly sucks seeing Halleluiah being commercialized everywhere. I get it, there’s nothing you can actually do about it, but part of me wishes they’d just stayed a hidden gem. I know, sounds selfish.

Leonard is the absolute legend here, but that song feels like it was written specifically for Buckley. He poured everything into it, I feel it every single time.

Dennis Martin6 said:What I meant was, Helene Smith reminds me of a character from a Borges story—someone drifting through multiple parallel lives and different layers of reality.

Clearly, there were plenty of aspects of this new world to dig into. 😁

Yeah, I get it. But look, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting if she just obsessed over linguistic puzzles or spent her time building LEGO houses with fountains on the roof. She needs to dive into the language of love too. 😁

Even the best ones screw up sometimes..

It’s been a minute. I once downed a liter of bourbon and ended up under the table.

Toma Bebić is a legend. It’s no surprise people are talking about him.

I know it's nothing new, but Miladin is always in the mix too. You can't beat a name like Miladin.

I'll give her this much regarding Lana Del Rey 😁

deicide

I’m constantly thinking about it and looking at her face. I can't shake the feeling that she's totally fake. She tries way too hard to be something she isn't through her lyrics. Just let her exist. Let her sing. I'm done haha.

Dennis Martin6 said:Her whole vibe—maybe because of what I'm reading right now—reminded me of something Borges would have dreamed up. Especially that bit about Martian language and grammar.

But honestly, rooftop fountains are still better. 😁

The stuff about language and grammar doesn't surprise me. That's exactly what you'd expect when someone is building a story about a new world and civilization. Plus, in her head, it's all real; she's actually living that life. On one hand, her brain is failing, but on the other, it's working overtime. It's beautiful and sad at the same time.

I think it's cool she wove in a love story. At least she's happy. Who knows how Martians are in bed. 😁

What a fascinating story. I hadn't even heard of her.
It's creepy. You have to wonder what happens to brain chemistry to make someone live in that world, that life. Imagine being inside her head. To her, it was all real. There's no point trying to convince her otherwise when this is her reality.
The level of detail in her worldbuilding is insane. Most people couldn't dream up something that complex. The details, the entire language, the communication systems.

Haha, and then there's this version of modern Mars. A weird mix of Lego and Walmart. And then this part:

Yet, anti-vaxxers were already all over the place. Hélène recalls she heard a child disgruntled at his mother because she didn’t want to follow the treatments her doctor had prescribed to her. 😁

obviously she can't be a bad writer, given lines like 'My pussy tastes like Pepsi' and 'I got sweet taste for men who are older'. 😁

That's exactly what I thought. 😁

Makes sense.

I always figured Lana Del Rey was just some generic pop trash, so I never really gave her a shot. Once I actually sat down and listened, though, my mind changed a bit. I’m still not saying she’s some legendary genius, and I haven't spun her entire discography, but she’s a decent songwriter.

Maybe her whole aesthetic just threw me off.

It hits me hard every single time. I don't get it. The tears just start flowing; I'm a mess. This stuff knows exactly how to trigger me.
