Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat, and I really thought this one might actually work. I sat through the whole thing, but it just turned into such a massive mess. It’s exhausting at the start and stays chaotic.

If they aren't transferring you from one hospital to another, all you need is a referral from your primary doctor for inpatient care and a COVID-19 test.
Thanks. Yeah, I did. They had the info wrong regarding the referral. You were right about how it works. The main thing is that it's sorted now.
Does anyone know what an internal referral actually is and who is supposed to issue it?
We sent over the GP's referral for hospital care along with the cardiologist's opinion from the Magdalena clinic, and we just got word from the hospital that Dad can come in for hospitalization this Thursday, but they're insisting on this specific referral. His doctor isn't even in until tomorrow afternoon, and frankly, I have no idea if she’ll even know what they're asking for. He's just at home right now, not at the hospital.
It’s honestly pathetic how far translations and dubbing have fallen.
Hold on, PBS is still ahead of the rest. As for the theaters, I don't know who handles the work, but it's pretty bad. I don't need subtitles, but when they are there, you can't miss them. I can't think of specific examples right now, but I regularly facepalm in the theater because of terrible, senseless translations. If someone says something a certain way, translators should understand those nuances. It feels like some kid translated it for some leftist website. It's bad. I always think I'll remember some ridiculous translation blunder when I leave the theater, but I'm too weighed down by enough actual stupidity to bother remembering it. I'll watch out next time.
And it's not just a theater problem. FOX, various channels, and everything I've seen on DirecTV. Good grief. 🤦
It's even worse when they dub those mindless "kids" shows on Nickelodeon that I see whenever my nieces come over to watch. It's embarrassing, and I feel bad that kids pick up that kind of stuff. The emphasis??? The people reading them, the way they stress certain words, it's completely unnatural. Either the translation is garbage, or to top it all off, the delivery is terrible.
Look, I don't mind Skarsgard. He’s good-looking and all, but man, where is the actual acting required for Tarzan?? It just doesn't fit him. That's just my take.
And the movie itself. Seriously, how many more Tarzan films do we actually need? 🙄
I’m fine with people, I guess. Though if I'm being honest, most people are just inherently selfish... egotistical.
The thing I struggle with—or maybe it isn't even a struggle—is that I can talk to anyone about anything, but I never bother going deep.
Growing up in my house, we never touched on "serious" stuff. No talking about feelings or needs or whatever. Everything was strictly functional. We were a good family. We loved each other and supported one another, but there was zero emotional display. No deep talks, nothing like that.
I don't recall ever telling my parents or my sister that I love them, and they never said it to me. Not since I was a little kid, maybe before kindergarten.
It wasn't a thing in our house, but in America, you'd think it's just assumed. Even when we fought, it was like that.
And it's not just my family. I'm like this with everyone. I'm talking about close friends, people I've known since childhood or my inner circle now. Certain topics are just off-limits. That's just how it is. Even if I wanted to change it, I couldn't. Honestly, most of the time, I don't even want to.
I suppose it would be more useful if I could actually open up instead of bottling everything inside, but if I haven't figured it out by now, I doubt I ever will.
Is it a trust issue? Like, I don't trust anyone, or is it just a learned behavior where certain subjects are simply ignored?
I live my life just fine this way. It works. But sometimes I wonder if things eventually have to come out. And if they don't, where do they go? My health?
It’s on PBS this Monday. 8 PM. They’re showing Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. It’s great. I’ve seen all of them, but I can always watch them again.
Great movie. It’s subtle, the dialogue hits right, and it feels like a real life story. Some people might find it boring, but it was right up my alley. Emma Thompson could definitely sweep the awards circuit for this role. I can't stop thinking about her performance in Nanny McPhee. I guess I just keep making that connection because of the similarities to Mary Poppins.
