Melissa Sanchez59 said:I'm a freelancer, so I have a bit more flexibility. I actually took about ten days off when I started a new antidepressant because, man, the side effects were so bad both times that I could barely walk, let alone work. I don't know, maybe it isn't that intense for everyone, but if I had a steady full-time gig, I'd probably just take a week of vacation and bridge it with a couple of weekends—just enough time for the worst of it to pass. After two weeks, I wasn't feeling those debilitating side effects anymore. As for the anxiety itself, I guess you can always lean on an anxiolytic if things get really overwhelming.

For a few months, and then I switched over to a different antidepressant.

Goddammit, how did you even last that long without catching some crazy infection from all those bacteria that couldn't get out?

Melissa Sanchez59 said:Yeah, I definitely had that happen with Celexa. It didn't really clear up until I stopped taking it, though—not ideal, I guess.

So how long were you even on that stuff?

Anyone here dealt with urinary retention from meds? Like, you literally can't empty your bladder? If you have—how did you fix it?

And obviously, if you just want a quote without any names or links attached, a regular . does the trick.

Look, if you actually want that little arrow icon and the direct link back to the post you're quoting, you gotta copy the whole header—the entire string:

So you mean like this if I want to do what you just did?

If you just want the quote without the link, but you still want the user's name showing up, then just drop their name right after the equals sign, like this:

And this is how you do it without the arrow but keeping the name?

And obviously, if you don't care about the name OR the link, a plain old
works fine.

And this is how you do it if you aren't even mentioning the user...
You can even do it "manually" if you want.
AltGr + F = [
AltGr + G = ]
Just type this at the start:
[quote.] (leave out the period)
Then wrap it up with this at the end:
[/quote.](no period here either)
Like this?

AltGr + F = [
AltGr + G = ]

And also like this
you start by typing:
[quote.] (without the period)
then finish it with:
[/quote.](without the period)

just practicing here

Man, 👍 is just everything for me

Quoting

So, how does one actually pull that off?

multiple posts at once

I think I'll be most successful if one day, when they're grown, they come knocking on my door and tell me off because I didn't do this or that... but without all the heavy drama or constant finger-pointing... just saying... "look, you weren't quite there..." while still acknowledging that despite my flaws, I helped shape who they are today.

The second they actually have the guts to "question" my authority or my choices, that's my signal that I did something right... that I taught them how to think for themselves and stand their ground.

I've been there a few times and the old man literally lost his mind.
