Tendon injuries: strains, cuts, ruptures...
in Health ·
Look, I might be barking up the wrong tree here by posting this in this thread, but I’ve got a question and if someone could just lay it out for me, I’d really appreciate it. So, about two weeks ago, I caught myself on some broken glass and ended up slicing through my anterior tibial tendon—yeah, the front one. I’m stuck in a cast for now, but they’re probably taking it off next week, and I’m spiraling a bit wondering if I’ll ever actually have full control over my ankle again. Like, can I get back to playing soccer? Can I run? Am I going to be able to kick a ball with everything I've got? This is my right leg we're talking about. If there's any chance I'll be back to normal, can you guys tell me when that might happen, or how risky this whole thing is? Is this just a temporary setback, kind of like a bad break where everything eventually resets, or am I looking at something permanent? They had to go in and stitch the tendon back together internally since it was a total clean cut through the middle. I'm hoping for some answers ASAP... and hey, if I'm totally lost and should be asking this in a different sub, please just point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!
