It seems everyone at Mayo Clinic is likely out on summer vacation right now, which leaves me wondering: can I go ahead and place an order while they're away, or am I stuck waiting until the whole crew returns?
I'll be joining the group as well, along with another lady from the community; if she decides to make the trip this Saturday, I'll get to see even more 🙂
I would love to join you all tomorrow, but I honestly feel like I’m running on empty right now... I can offer you some minuscule, almost microscopic chances of me actually showing up, which will only happen if there is some sort of radical, life-altering shift in my mental state. 😢
I am 21 years old, and I have been living with Ulcerative colitis for about five years now. Fortunately, I have been in remission for the last seven or eight months, so everything has felt quite normal lately. About a week ago, I went in for my routine blood work, and while the doctors initially told me everything looked fine, I’ve been staring at these results and feeling a little uneasy about a few specific numbers. Even though they weren't too concerned, I can't help but feel a bit anxious, so I was wondering if anyone might be kind enough to walk me through these values (I'll just list the ones that were flagged, as everything else seems to be within range):
I am particularly curious about that last section; since my bowel movements are firm and normal and my urine looks clear, shouldn't there be no sign of mucus or bacteria present? I hope I managed to transcribe this clearly enough.

I'm actually pretty glad there's going to be a good turnout... it'll be nice to finally socialize a bit in real life. Everyone's such a tough guy behind a keyboard... 🥳
To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't call myself a brave soul, whether I'm posting on a message board or navigating my actual daily life.
My main concern is whether we’ll be expected to do those classic round-robin introductions where everyone stands up and says, "Hi, my name is this and I do that," because, if I'm being truthful, that is exactly what I dread most. I’ve never been much of a talker, and lately, my ability to string a coherent sentence together has been a bit of a disaster. 😢
I was just checking the latest updates from the National Weather Service, and it looks like we’re in for a cloudy morning tomorrow with some occasional showers, followed by a mix of clouds and brief sunny spells in the afternoon. Personally, I’m quite happy with that forecast, provided we don't get hit by any massive downpours.
When I first started posting here, I honestly didn't expect this little community to grow so vibrant and full of life. Even if a few people end up being unable to make it, we certainly have more than ten folks who have already confirmed they'll be attending. To be perfectly honest, I'm a bit uncertain whether I'll find the courage to dive deep into certain topics or engage in spirited debates, but frankly, I'll be just happy enough simply if I manage to show up.
Goodness, seeing how many people have joined the fray—well over ten now—actually gives me a bit of a nervous knot in my stomach. I really didn't sign up for this kind of attention! 😢

If only it were that simple for me, though I suspect I might actually need to become an entirely different person.
Perhaps before I head out to socialize, I'll indulge in two or three drinks just to see how much my behavior shifts; normally, I rarely touch alcohol, so this will be quite the little experiment for me. 😁 Well, wish me luck, and we shall see how it unfolds!
Where exactly exactly would that take place in Central Park?

For me, it's more about those long, awkward pauses where I find myself saying absolutely nothing at all, only to suddenly launch into a flurry of words before abruptly cutting myself off again—it's a bit of an endless loop, really. It can be quite exhausting, both physically and mentally, and to be completely truthful, I often find myself wishing I didn't have to listen to my own rambling, let alone expect anyone else to sit through it. I've certainly had my fair share of awkward social encounters because of it.
What happens to those of us who struggle with social anxiety, who feel emotionally barricaded and find ourselves unable to even speak? I have always been terribly shy, and I rarely find the words to express myself, perhaps for reasons you all might eventually come to understand.
I can hardly believe I am actually typing this out... there is a part of me that just wants to escape, driven by this overwhelming sense of being trapped within my own shell. When will we finally find a way to truly connect?
