Good grief, you really seem to have a grudge against everything American, don't you?☕

@Paul Sanders5

From what I can gather, there’s quite a significant amount of time passing throughout the series, which would explain why they look older despite everything. Both her and Geralt of Rivia seem to show it. Still, she carries herself with the air of a young girl.

It feels like we're just seeing the same tropes over and over again
To be honest, watching this series became a total chore for me after that first episode hooked me...

I finally sat down and managed to watch 1917 a very good war movie
Seriously, what a phenomenal piece of filmmaking. The technical execution is absolutely top-tier.
The camerawork is nothing short of masterful
Those trench sequences were easily some of the most visceral and well-shot scenes I've seen in a long time

I am actually considering heading to the theater to catch it on the big screen. There is something about those seamless "one-take" illusions that I find endlessly fascinating...

I haven't actually read the books or played the games, so the whole universe was a complete mystery to me before I sat down to watch. That said, I don't think they did a particularly stellar job of fleshing out the characters or the world itself. Aside from Geralt, Ciri, and Jaskier, most of it felt a bit nonsensical to me. You have Yennefer, who is supposed to be this brilliant powerhouse, yet she spends half her time acting like an absolute fool; then there's Calanthe, presented as this legendary warrior, only to be caught completely off guard by these people; and that whole gathering of mages feels even more chaotic than a messy political convention back home... As for Cintra and Nilfgaard—why should I even care about who ends up winning 🤷? And that scene involving Duny and the Law of Surprise? It felt like being tossed into deep space without a map; I found myself wondering, what on earth is actually happening here? 🤣

It feels like they’ve taken that raw, old-school grit and smothered it under layers of political correctness, filling the screen with werewolves, strigas, and a cast of Black and Asian actors. At this rate, I’m just waiting for them to cast a white actor in a tribe like Shake Zulu.

When I watched the first two episodes of Game of Thrones, I started reading immediately. Here, I'm just sitting here tossing and turning...

Still, you watch stuff from this genre because it's entertaining, and I suppose I'll keep watching, hoping they eventually manage to fix it.

I finally sat down to watch The Witcher. While the production value is actually decent enough and the lead actor holds his own, everything else feels... lackluster. It’s all quite shallow, lacking any real depth or development; the characters feel flat, the dialogue is borderline laughable, and honestly, if you stripped away all the gore, you could probably pass this off as a show for seven-year-olds.

Take those three villains, for instance.🤦

Ajuto gave his heart to Franjo Harmon, much like how Samuel Umtiti did.

Let’s maintain some decency—that’s what I’ve always said. 😉.

Reading these kinds of ramblings feels like I'm hearing them read aloud by Danak Družijanić.

There are just so many questions being thrown around right now. Honestly, it’s going to take humanity hours upon hours of deep analysis before anyone can truly make sense of this work. 🤔.

Trust me, Ajut, plenty of people—myself included—would probably just roll their eyes and say, "Yeah, right, like that'll ever happen." 😉.

But you can count on my vote.

I can see it now: stumbling toward the polling station with a 0.10 BAC, shouting slogans at the top of my lungs all the way there.

You have a point there. This could easily be the opening act of yet another Antun Vrdoljak comedy, or perhaps it evolves into some sort of homegrown hillbilly horror—or even a gay drama.

It feels like I am seeing it with my own eyes.

On a foggy morning, while the November dew settles heavily, a Ford F-150 rattles down a muddy backroad in the Midwest. The driver hasn't quite secured the logs he harvested from the national forest earlier this week, so they rattle and thud against the truck bed. Through the misted windows, the passengers—a diverse group of Americans—watch the scenery pass by. The driver is listening to music; he’s had the Cassette Player cranked to the max ever since he veered off the interstate. He planned the whole thing perfectly, timing it so the first chords of their song hit just as he pulled up to the gate.

The screech of the brakes startles a flock of geese in the yard, sending them vanishing into the fog. Stubbing out a cigarette somewhere near the Cassette Player, the driver catches the heavy symbolism of the moment. He kills the engine and climbs down.

A sturdy woman with a commanding presence rushes out of the house to swing the gate open, but he waves her off immediately. There’s no need. That dismissive, masculine gesture says it all—it’s as if neither the opening of the gate nor her assistance is required at all. Without offering a polite greeting, he simply asks, "Where’s the boss?"

She lets out a sharp, squeaky sound toward the pigpen and retreats back into the house. He remains waiting on the road, hands shoved deep in his pockets. Finally, an exhausted-looking man emerges from the pens wearing mud-caked boots. Beneath a blue work jacket held together by a single struggling button, you can make out the silhouette of a middle-aged man weighing at least 260 pounds. But where others might see neglect, the driver sees strength and vitality.

The man sets aside his pitchfork and heads toward the gate. Only then does the guest step into the yard, and they walk toward one another to exchange greetings. When a voice shouts "now or never!" through the cracked window of the truck, the host closes his eyes and raises his hands and fingers toward the sky. They both sing along, though more by opening their mouths wide and letting a little sound escape every now and then. They shake hands and give each other a firm pat on the shoulder. "It’s time." "Yes, it’s time, sir."

He helps him climb back into the truck, and together they head toward City Hall.

It’s a fair point, really—perhaps if there were just a bit more hollow nationalism in Ajut’s neck of the woods, it might finally deliver all that much-coveted prosperity they seem to be chasing.☕

Even Zoran's people are raising their hands in Congress to support Andrej Plenković. ☕

I wouldn't rule it out.

Her behavior lately has been quite strange.

I’ve entertained that thought myself. But then again, to intentionally humiliate oneself like that... I just don't know.

It would have been practically suicidal to show up for those debates at all. She could have just claimed she had the flu or some other bullshit.

Strange.

Paul Sanders5 said:In California, 90% of companies went belly up. And honestly? They deserved it. In this new world order that kicked in after the USSR collapsed and the rest of the globe opened up to the West, they simply couldn't—and weren't even capable of—keeping up. That's just the cold, hard reality. Only the ones that could survive actually did. Sometimes the answer is really that simple, despite the fact that there was plenty of looting and shady wealth-building going on...

I mean, seriously, did the American textile industry stand a single chance once China and India entered the ring? Yeah, right. Against what? With what? Please...

Businesses evolve.

The tendency to reduce incredibly complex economic processes down to these sort of one-sentence "truths" is essentially the root of most human fuck-ups.

But hey, it's a democracy, right? Everyone is an expert on everything. 🤣

If Kolinda actually loses this, it’s honestly staggering to see how much people have been undermining her over the last couple of months, especially in these final few days.

Back in September, I was calling her a winner, predicting she’d take the runoff with a 60:40 lead against anyone put in front of her.

As far as her own future goes, perhaps it would be better for her to just step out of the spotlight and find some peace away from all this.

Give me a break; Rambo handled those heated debates on Reddit side-by-side with the Republican Party's sandwich-eating sycophants. I’ve been keeping a very close eye on the threads, ☕

I suspect even the folks over at the central headquarters were left scratching their heads, wondering who this mysterious Batman character could possibly be. ☕

Help me out here, friend, because you are essentially the quintessential American voter. You’re one of those small cogs in the machine doing all the heavy lifting during election season, only to stop asking questions once the dust settles, staying silent when it counts, and swallowing whatever narrative they feed you. All in exchange for a bit of ideological fog to keep things blurry? Go ahead and let them mess with your head or walk all over you if that’s what you want. It’s not like you were built for anything else, anyway. Just my two cents.

Exactly. It’s as if we’re expected to just roll over, throw them a party, and sing for them on their birthdays. I mean, what else are we supposed to do?

Good grief, it’s honestly no wonder we ended up in this mess.🤦

And then he has the nerve to complain that he got run over🤣. Well, you didn't get run over by a car; you were trampled by your own mindset and those like-minded people who insist on keeping that entire mess in power.

If we were talking about the version of Kolinda who actually went toe-to-toe with Ivo Josipović—someone whose speech felt more organic and healthy, lacking those artificial stretches like "the peoople" or "the natiooon" 🤦—I probably wouldn't care nearly as much; honestly, I was pretty indifferent between her and Josipović back then. At the time, I viewed her as one of the better Hadeževač types, someone whose time spent working abroad had somehow instilled a sense of dignity, poise, and actual style. I even welcomed a bit of her fire and optimism compared to how overly cautious and elitist Josipović seemed to be.

But because of this blatant brown-nosing toward the top criminal elements and those bizarre outbursts in her behavior—whether they stem from an illness, substance issues, stress, or something else entirely, it hardly matters—she just isn't that same politician or even the same person anymore. Can someone who acts the way she did in Chicago really be trusted to command the military or oversee our intelligence agencies? How can you reconcile the need for absolute secrecy in investigations with her cozy relationship with criminals, all while she’s simultaneously tasked with supervising the very people doing the wiretapping?

Everything would be absolutely wonderful if staying put meant you could simply dodge both of those disasters altogether. But since you’re inevitably going to end up stuck with one of them, why on earth would you let someone else make the choice for you?

Paul Sanders5 said:Lol about Milan Bandić getting kicked out of the Democratic Party 🤣 yeah, Zoki finally realized just how much of a disaster Milan was and decided it was time to cut him loose 🙏
I remember being just a kid back in my small hometown, and even then, Milan Bandić was already acting exactly like he does today—totally unchanged. His whole playbook stays the same. He brought in all that money for the Democratic Party in Washington, D.C., and that’s the only reason they didn't toss him out sooner. It wasn't until he had the nerve to run for President that they absolutely crushed him. By then, it was too late; the guy had already built such a massive web of influence that he could stay in power as long as he damn well pleased. And honestly? You can thank Zoki for that.

So yeah, Zoran is just like everyone else—actually, maybe worse, because he basically held the ladder for a guy who basically controlled the most important city in the entire country. He covered for him on purpose because it kept the perks coming.
And why was he the absolute worst Prime Minister? Look at his economic policies, look at the crowd of people he surrounded himself with to draft them... I mean, seriously, these are people whose biggest achievement was fixing up Marshall's old boat in some random city.

So yeah, Zoki, suck it. Sending kisses from my ski trip 👋

But really, what is the actual difference between Sanders's and Zoran Milanović's "economic strategies" when it seems like they both serve the interests of someone like Dr. Ivo? Or even Franjo Harmon?

When you look at public perception, the reality is quite simple: Zoki never had heavy hitters in his corner like Kalmeta or Kirin. It’s obvious why people are still so impressed by them today.

I'm just messing with you, though, so there's no need to reply; I already know where you stand and that we aren't going to move the needle one way or the other here.
