I’m honestly at a loss regarding the specific criteria here 🙂 I can't quite tell if we're actually allowed to start a thread for the QPR vs. Fulham match 🙂 Could someone please just lay out the guidelines for us? 🙂

I’m suggesting we implement a total ban on those tedious cookie-cutter ("X is the greatest/worst ever") quotes from every single person who dares to comment on Messi or Ronaldo.

It would also be smart to set some ground rules right from the jump—basically defining where we draw the line on things like "uno zero" banter, calling people names, or just general nonsense. Clear boundaries from the start would help everyone.
When the biggest spammers start complaining, it usually means the job was done right.
Ryan, the deletions actually started before the horse comment, and honestly, for that outburst you could have easily handed me a yellow card. On the other hand, if "uno zero basta" is considered mere trolling within yesterday's debate, then we are truly sliding toward a "Pope 1-0" style thread.
Every major discussion thread has its own unique rhythm. Here in the La Liga section, we can expand a topic quite extensively—and certainly tear each other apart—without any lasting bad blood developing between us. We’ll probably end up bickering by the end of a specific debate, but that’s just how it goes. This kind of discourse, combined with the frequent outbursts regarding GOAT debates, club history, and national teams compared to other sections (which is really just a byproduct of the current reality of La Liga and its giants), has been a staple for years. With this particular group of users, it's practically baked into the DNA of the thread. It isn't unmanageable, provided there's a proper approach that respects those nuances.
But let me focus on the most critical point. When you have five, six, or seven people actively engaged in a heated discussion, deleting posts in the middle of the fray accomplishes nothing other than irritating everyone involved. I understand the intentions are noble, and that deleting is a "softer" alternative to handing out cards in terms of our standing, but as a disciplinary tool, it carries zero weight. Those of us participating feel annoyed, and those who weren't part of it have no idea what happened or what the new rules actually prohibit; they just see that content was wiped. As far as I'm concerned, don't delete—just issue the cards and let things cool down. At least then the boundaries will be transparent, making it clear what is tolerated and what is specifically classified as spam or trolling. From yesterday's deletions, I personally didn't walk away with any clearer understanding of where that line sits.
So, if anyone can swim against the new current, let them dive in; those who can't should probably just stick to the shoreline, as the wise Carlos once said.
Ultimately, trying to force a football discussion to consist of a mix of banter and constructive debate—mirroring real life—is a mission doomed to fail from the start.
Please take this as a well-meaning observation from someone who actually cares about the community.🙂
All jokes aside, I have no idea who’s doing the deleting, but this approach isn't working for anyone. Right in the middle of a perfectly healthy debate—where nobody is throwing insults or aggressively trolling—half the posts just vanish, leaving you completely lost when you try to scroll back and follow the flow of the conversation.
What is the point of contributing to these discussions, or even trying to revisit them, if they can be wiped away like that?
Every single thread about soccer tends to drift; comparisons are inevitable, often bleeding past the original topic, much like those sudden memories or side tangents that characterize any real conversation. If you strip away that ability to wander, aren't you essentially killing the discussion itself and leaving us with nothing more than live score updates?

I can't help but feel like we’re swinging from one extreme to the other. What happens now when someone makes a joke about Frank, regardless of whether it's in relation to Real Madrid? Since La Liga has become such a mainstream staple, is everything just going to be scrubbed away immediately? In a league where legitimate competition is lacking for various reasons—one of the smaller major leagues at best—and where non-football elements seem more prominent than anywhere else, where does that leave us?
Do whatever you think is best, of course; this is just my two cents.

So, what exactly is meant by "even the slightest hint of bickering"? We are talking about soccer here, for heaven's sake, not war crimes.

A dollar is only worth something if it’s large enough to cover the entire wall, wouldn't you agree?
Otherwise, it's nothing special—just your typical Rorschach-style mess where everyone sees whatever they want; one person spots the world's best defensive midfielder, while another just sees a monthly cycle.☕
